My husband and I had the best honeymoon imaginable! The resort is beautiful and well maintained and the food was delicious everywhere we went. But, what really made our trip special was the staff. A BIG thank you goes out to our playmakers who kept the party going from morning to wee hours in the night. They made sure we were having an IRIE time! The entertainment was wonderful whether provided by the local bands or the playmakers. I’ve never danced so much in my life! The daily activities were fun and well organized and gave us the opportunity to meet the other vacationing couples. Hats off to all of the playmakers, but especially to Daina, Kevon, Aleicia, and Marlon for showing us a lot of hospitality. Gary at the main bar also deserves a shout out he kept the Jamaica Smiles coming with some Caribbean humor.
We did have the opportunity to upgrade our beachfront room to a more private concierge room, but decided not to because we were having a great time just sitting on the patio watching the games being played and listening to the music.
The planes taking off throughout the day weren’t a problem for us. Actually, we enjoyed the waving and kissing game that went with it! We did go on a shopping excursion, but if we hadn’t they brought the shopping to us on Friday. This gave me a chance to pick-up a few extra gifts. Great trip! We'll Be Back!

We stayed at Sandals MoBay from Feb 9th to 13th, an extra day due to the storm hitting the east coast, and it was nothing but perfect.
When we arrived at the airport we were directed towards the Sandals lounge. The attendant had all of our info on his palm pilot and escorted us to the shuttle bus that was departing shortly. The ride to the resort is all of maybe 8 minutes and your there. Our luggage was offloaded as we we sat in a welcome loung where you are given a glass of champagne and your room key, etc. It seems like all the couples with us were upgraded, not sure if this is a regular but I assume it is to balance the workloads of the support staff. We were upgraded to a Honeymoon Suite. It was beautiful, only thing you dont get is a balcony. The bathroom area was larger than some hotel rooms I have stayed in, there was a Jacuzzi tub, mini bar & fridge, King 4 post bed, seperate sitting area, just perfect. When we had to stay due to bad weather we were offered a room for an additonal fee. We were put in a Luxury Oceanview Room. The balcony on this room and from the looks of it all the rooms are huge. This room had all of the same features as the previous except the sitting area.
Once we settled in, that took 2 minutes, we headed to the beach. Each day from the moment we woke up to the moment we went to bed there was staff working around the grounds. The beach is raked several times a day, the grounds are being cleaned several times a day as well. The beach was clean, large, always enough chairs every day, very stretched out, you can be with a large group or sit almost alone if you choose.
The food was great. Either eat at the buffet, one of the restaraunts or at the beach grille. Always an option!!! The booze was all top shelf, the fruity drinks are weak but they are suppose to be, they are fruity drinks, you want stronger order a Jack & Coke, a Long Island Ice Tea or something along those lines. The Jamaican trees are as pretty as ever and are all over the resort.
Either due nothing, except drink, eat and enjoy paradise or sign up for the milion things to due there. Its a vacation, Enjoy it!!!!

We just got back from a 4-day weekend at Sandals Montego Bay. The overwhelming majority of our time there was great. We enoyed the beautiful beach and the chance to relax and take turns getting drinks from one of the many bars. There were opportunities to join group activities on the beach and at the bars. Or we could choose to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. We ate at 3 of the 5 restaurants (didn't get to the Cucina Romana or the OK Corral) and the food was good. It was not cafeteria level cuisine or haute cuisine. It was well-prepared and served by attentive wait staff.

We were "upgraded" to a penthouse suite behind Tokyo Joe's which could have been terrible, but it really wasn't. We had a gorgeous view of the bay and it was actually interesting watching the food prep and other activities at the Bayside restaurant. Noise was never an issue in our room and we were not prevented from enjoying the use of our balcony at any time night or day.

Unfortunately, the end of our trip was not as good as the rest of it. Due to the blizzard in the tri-state area, a number of flights were canceled or delayed. Be warned that if you face a similar situation, Sandals will NOT book you for another night or do anything else for you until they have received confirmation that your flight has been canceled and a new flight has been booked. Until then you are left to wait...This definitely left us with the feeling that since they already had our money we were out of luck. Concierge staff was NO HELP whatsoever in this situation.

Despite, the events of our last day we would go back. Taken as a whole this was a very relaxing weekend...and now we know what to expect if/when we face similar circumstances when we go back next year.

My husband & I went to Sandals with my sister & my brother-in-law. We stayed from Jan 29, 2006 to Feb 02,2006 in the Honeymoon Waters Edge Concierge Rooms. When we arrived at the hotel we were taken to the concierge lobby. We were then given cold towels to pamper our face. Then we were given champagne and red stripe (try red stripe light we loved it). The women were also given bags with assorted lotions. The concierge then took us to our rooms which were on the first floor next to each other. We had a large size patio with an unblieveable view of the water. The room was very colorful. We had robes, satellite TV, and a jacuzzi tub. We also had a spacious closet. Most importantly we had a fully stocked bar/refrigerator (water, juice, soda, bottled red stripe regular and light, jamaican rum, vodka and wine). When we ran low on any alcohol all we had to do is call the concierge desk and they brought what we wanted. This room is on the quiet side of the resort and close to everything. The concierge answered any and all questions we had. We highly recommend this room.
The food was good, we went to every restaurant except the Oleander Room. The concierge made all of our reservations. The two restaurants we really loved were Tokyo Joe's and the Cucina Romana. We ate at the Bayside breakfast buffet every morning which was very good. We went to the OK Corral every night between 11 and 12 for cheesburgers, quesadillas and jerk chicken. The beach bar service was excellent, per other reviews there was no shortage of cups and the drinks weren't watered down. I actually had to tell them to make some of my drinks weak. Make sure you try the Jamaican Smile, Dirty Banana and the world famous Duncan Special. In the mornings try the Eye Opener which is pineapple juice & jamaican rum. The bartenders were so nice and friendly we really enjoyed Morrison, Patrick, Duncan and Grant. P.S. if you see Morrison ask him about his sister Moreisha. The activites at the resort were plentiful. The beach was beautiful and the water was clear. The best time of our trip and we highly highly recommend is the Island Dreamer. Make sure to go at 3pm not the 10am tour. Our concierge recommended that time. This trip takes you snorkeling and to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville. My brother-in-law recommends you try the trampoline and the water slide at Margaritaville.
The 2 or 3 men on Kayaks selling stuff at the resort were no trouble, we actually bought necklaces and shells from them. They were very nice and if you were not interested they would just leave you alone. The planes that fly overhead didn't bother us at all. It was actually fun because every time a plane flies over everyone waves. Some reviews said that you couldn't get into the pool because of scuba lessons but from the 5 days we were there the pool was always open with hardly anyone in it. It seems as if everyone wants to be at the beach not at the pool. You can get a seat at the beach anytime of the day. Overall this was one of our best vacations we have had we would highly recommend Sandel's Montego Bay. Don't be scared by some of the negative reviews. We all loved it and are already planning to go back next year but longer this time.

NO PROBLEM MON, SEE YOU NEXT WEEK

We stayed at Sandals Montego Bay Jan 19-25. Started out trip being "upgraded to Whitehouse" without our permission. Had a terrible time at Whitehouse, beautiful property, but not what we had reserved. Was refused service in the resturants as we did not meet the dress code. (our luggage had not been sent to our room yet). Finally got permission to eat outside at 7:30 pm. When our luggage was delivered to our room, it was just left outside our room. Housekeeping turned down the bed, but was not allowed to bring in our luggage. When we asked management about it was informed they trusted their employees! We asked what about your clients? Had to fight with management to be changed back to Sandals Montego Bay. Was charged $400.00 to our credit card without permission for incidentals and had to fight to get the charge reversed. Fought to return to Sandals Montego Bay and finally at 11:00 am the next day was allowed to move there.
Lost a full day of vacation. At Montego Bay was again "upgraded" to a different room, over the bar & disco and directly behind Toyoko Joe's (the mongolian bar-b-que resturant) so could not use patio at night. Had to keep the bathroom door closed at night to shut noise from bar and disco out.
Food was just barely OK most of the time. The waiters did not know who should get our ice tea with our meals. Always took a major production to get some, finally gave up on the last couple of days and just drank water. Had to send our meal at the Oleandar back as it was not cooked. Meal at Toyko Joes food was excellent, however, our clothes were covered in grease as the wind was blowing it right at us.
The atmosphere at Sandals was not what we expected. We had the feeling from Management that since we had already paid, they did not have to try to resolve any problems.
Would not go back to Sandals.
