“It's 5:00 O'clock Somewhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2011

If you find yourself in Montego Bay and feel like just kicking back this is the place. We were toured out from traveling and just want a nice place to eat and kick back for a couple hours and this place was great. The food is good. The drinks are fine, a bit small. The atmosphere was electric. Several members of out group took advantage of the water slide into the bay. They also bounced on the trampoline and just plain enjoyed the swimming area. The restaurant is vintage Jimmy as the songs play and you can find a T- shirt. Come prepared to swim and enjoy.

“Great Place....Great Food.....Excellent Anniversary!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2011

My husband and I ate here on our 22nd anniversary. Our table was outside and it was an absolutely beautiful night. The food was excellent we both had filet and lobster tail, the steak would melt in your mouth. The only negative thing I could say about it was the location connected to Margaritaville we had to listen to loud hip hop music during our romantic dinner. We enjoyed our time together and that outweighs the loud music. I would highly recommend this restaurant but be aware before making reservations it is a bit pricey but I guess if you want quality food you pay for it for 2 of us it was over 200.00 we do not drink alcohol so this was just for the food and tap water.

“Incredible views, delicious drinks - Worth the trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2011

Been to a few of these properties and the one in Montego Bay is definetly my favourite. Located at the head of Montego Bay's "Hip Strip" the restaurant hangs over the blue Caribbean and is open totally on one side. The drinks here are amongst the best in the city and you can actually swim in the ocean right out of the restaurant, swimming out to one of the giant floating trampolines. Our group hung out here for the afternoon and had a great time. It's a must see.

“Bland”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2011 via mobile

The decor is probably the nicest we encountered in Montego Bay. The servers were professional, but not particularly friendly like so many of the Jamaicans you encounter.

The food was below average. The Caesar salad at over $10 was a bit soggy. The seafood pasta seemed to only have shrimp that was too chewy. The sauce was about as bland as it gets.

I only had one bite of my wife's lobster tails, but from what I tasted, that too was pretty bland. It's possible that our taste buds had come to expect more from all the jerk.

If you prize food above ambiance, leave Marguerite's off your list

“A true "Foodie's Find" in MoBay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2011

Next door to the venerable Margaritaville sits a true gem in Montego Bay. Frequented by locals and tourists alike in search of a fine dining experience and a nice wine list, Marguerites offers an inspired menu, fresh ingredients, and wonderful service.

We were so pleasantly surprised by a platter of their fine appetizers. The foie gras was seared to perfection and melt in your mouth, and imaginatively served over grilled tenderloin. The calamari was lightly seasoned and grilled. There was fresh seabass with an escovitch sauce that was a taste explosion. Jerk chicken was shred and served inside fried "purses" in an Asian style. I could have been satisfied with appetizers alone!

However, we had a taste for lobster, and the menu featured 2 varieties.

The ambience was high class, and we sat outdoors in a courtyard-like setting overlooking the water.

The staff was friendly, the service attentive and professional. I read some of the other reviews; I guess we all have our good days and bad days. Remember, in Jamaica you are not in New York City. But if you happen through MoBay and want something more than fun bar food & drinks (go next door to Margaritaville), Marguerites MUST be on your list.
