My partner and I stayed at the Rose Hall between 5th July and the 19th (and are writing this review while taking a break from the sun). We read many reviews before choosing the Rose Hall and were in fact going to get married here a couple of years ago but instead opted for Mexico as this hotel was in the process of being renovated and undergoing the handover from Wyndham to Hilton. All of the reviews we read were excellent and we were therefore a little disappointed to find that we were placed in a room with twin beds (which we managed to change) and then had to queue for over half an hour to eat at the Fresh buffet after having a delayed flight in on the first night. We later realised that this was not an unusual occurrence and queueing was commonplace in the morning and ther evening despite their being numerous tables. Whilst I realise that Jamaica has a no problem laid back attitude, this is still suppsed to be a four star plus hilton resort and I wouldn't have expected to have to queue for food and then wait another half hour for a drink.

The pool is lovely and there are plenty of loungers although too few shades, and the loungers and tables within the restaurants were a little too close together, so you couldn't help overhearing your neighbours conversations even when you were trying to have a romantic evening with your partner.

The beaches throughout this area of Montego Bay are very shallow, but we didn't mind this too much as the views are beautiful wherever and as far as trips are concerned we went on the Cool Runnings trip to Dunnes River Falls which is an absolute must!

The night time entertainment is dreadful and as other guests have commented the only good night is Sunday when there is a beach party.

The bedrooms are very modern and comfortable and well fitted out and you don't get the usual issues that you have with the caribbean in respect of bugs/mosquitos. There is a door leading through to the bedroom next door which does however mean that you can hear your neighbour quite closely. Also whilst there is a mini bar, it is completely empty and room service is quite expensive.

We have been too a number of other resorts within the Caribbean and this is definitely the poorest that we have stayed at and we won't be coming back.

We have enjoyed our stay in Jamaica but that is more to do with the natural environment that Jamaica brings and the company rather than the resort.

I am very glad we chose Mexico as our wedding destination as we have seen a coupe of weddings take place whilst we have been here. One of the weddings was on a pagoda by the sea which I'm sure would have been beautiful had a volley ball pitch not been set up right next to it.

Having stayed at Hilton's in the UK we simply expected a different standard than we received and have been put off staying in Hilton's elsewhere for the future. Not that the hotel is terrible. Its just not that good either.

This is our First time to go to Jamaica and the place we stayed was very nice, clean and excellent staff - friendly and very helpful. We booked our trip through Costco.com and I would recommend getting the all inclusive package. You have different choices of Restaurant: Seaside Grill is overlooking the Carribean Sea and they serve Jamaican Dish, Salads and Sandwiches I recommend the Jerk Pork and Jerk Chicken for people who like spicy food. For dinner time you need to make a reservation ahead of time. Mangoes Grill serve Sandwiches and no reservation is required. Fresh is a Buffet restaurant and they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you have a taste of Italian go to Luna Di Mare its located at the lower level of the hotel and this is by resevations only and attire is Business/Casual Attire. Another Restaurant is Three Palm Restaurant with the View of the golf course and food is excellent and reservations is required too. All these restaurants are part of all inclusive and drinks is unlimited but who have to pay for top shelf liquor. We enjoyed the Parasailing, banana boat ride and the water park. It is a must that you go Parasailing. They also have snorkelling and scuba diving. They also have tours and you can avail them at the front desk. Overall our first experience in Jamaica is a BLAST. we had a great time and would like to go back soon.

My wife and I traveled to MoBay for a friend's wedding and stayed four nights at the Rose Hall Resort & Spa. Overall, the experience was great. We were forced to book through Liberty Travel because that's who the bride and groom decided to use. We would never use them again. Our experience with Liberty during the booking process left a lot to be desired and it only got worse when we got to the resort. Our vouchers from Liberty told us (and the front desk) that we were entitled to a $50 room credit for every two nights. We specifically asked about it at the reception area and they looked at the voucher and said the $100 would come off any incidentals charged to the room. However, we found out at check-out that the credit was not valid because we got a group rate. Liberty should have told us that and blacked out that portion of the voucher. The manager took care of us as well as he could have, but we were still left with $120 in charges that we never would have made if we weren't told we had the credit.

Ok, enough about Liberty. Here are some positives and negatives we found with the resort:

Positives:

- The food at Fresh, the Seaside Grille and the Three Palms was very good (we didn't get a chance to try Luna di Mare).
- The main pool was never too crowded.
- The water park is a nice change of pace from other resorts. It will make you feel like a kid again.
- A majority of the bartenders make really good (and strong) drinks and there always seemed to be a seat at the swim-up bar.
- There were plenty of activities for kids. I don't have any, so I appreciated that there were things for them to do to keep them from getting on my nerves.
- The beds are very comfortable and the iPod docking alarm clock is a really nice feature.
- The golf course is absolutely beautiful and having a caddy can be a great thing.
- The fitness center had a lot of good equipment.

Negatives:
- The selection at Fresh (the buffet) is not all that great, but the dinner menu does change every day.
- Nobody's room was ready at check-in. I can understand this when people show up at 11 a.m., but we got there after 4 p.m. and still had to wait about 45 minutes.
- The check-in process takes a really long time, so there is a lot of waiting in line.
- You can relax in a lounge chair on/near the beach, but you can't really go in the water
- Two of our three caddies were great, but the third just didn't want to be there and wasn't very helpful at all.
- The floor of the lazy river is really rough. I got dumped of my tube after coming down the slide and scraped my knee pretty bad and some of the people we were there with said the bottoms of their feet got pretty torn up.
- A small inconvenience - we were on the fifth floor, as were the bride and groom, but they were in the opposite tower so we had to go down to the second floor, walk across the building and go back up to get to their room. If you go as a group, make sure you ask for a block of rooms in the same tower if possible.
- The biggest inconvenience - no late night dining! Fill a plate at the buffet and take it to your room if you want to eat after 10 p.m. (or 11 if you pay for room service).
- The "night club" is open until 2, but the majority of the people there are teenagers smoking and playing pool. That didn't stop us from going, but it was pretty lame.
- My wife's manicure with French tips started peeling off the day after she had it done.

There are always things to complain about, and if the things I've listed as negatives are important to you I would suggest going somewhere else. But, since the lack of late-night dining was our biggest problem, we would definitely go back (we would just book it ourselves this time!) It's a family resort for sure, but anyone can have a good time there. And if you want to go off of the resort there are a lot of great things to do and see within a two-hour drive (and I would go with Barrett Adventures because you get a private trip).

I hope this review is helpful. If anyone has any questions, just let me know.

Me, my wife and 19 year old daughter stayed between 29th June and 13th July in a twin room. I am actually writing this review on my last night here in Jamaica. The hotel is good but not great as stated in my title. The resort is great but is let down by a few irritating points.
As stated by previous reviewers the evening entertainment is poor. It takes place outside the main restaurant but not many seats are provided. The evening bar is outside and we never had a problem getting a table and were served quite quickly.
The most annoying aspect is the wait for the buffet dinner and breakfast. If dining between 7.45 and 8.45 am and pm you will have to queue for entry to the buffet. If the queue was because the restaurant was full I would understand, however there were always plenty of spare tables but you have to wait to be escorted to an empty table. They just seem unable to clear the tables quickly as diners leave.
The water park is great but it ain't no "wet n wild" just a lazy river and 2 slides.
No problems getting a sun lounger especially at the beach but you will need to be out by 8.30am to get the best spots.
Food choice reasonable in the buffet but not extensive. However breakfast is great.
My tip would be concerning trips. Dunns river falls is a must but as entry is just $15 each and the organised trip costs $56. Think about hiring a car ($85) and driving yourself. It takes about 2 hours but the coast road drive is great and you can stop on route to take photos. Also means you can visit Ocho Rios whilst there (this is where Mystic Mountain and Dolphin cove are). But avoid a day when the cruise ship arrives.
For a hotel a charge of $12 per 24 hours for internet access is high. There are 3 computers provided in the reception area but these are usually occupied by teenagers on facebook etc.
The staff are great but tipping your waitress to get quicker drinks when dining does not work as you will never get the same waiter. However please do tip when you get good service as the wages are relatively low.
I would recommend this hotel but I have stayed in better.

If you want to lose yourself in fun and adventure go here. The staff won't rush you to do anything. They have a nice Italian resturant, a other less formal resturaunt, and a nice outside resturaunt (you can get a bracelet and eat as much as you want there about $1,000 if you stay for 7 days). There is a lovely view from any window. The ocean is great but there is one minus there is a lare area of rocks in there but it is really nice. The pool was nice and big. They also had a huge slide about 280 ft. in length (completly safe). And another one for the kids. There is another pool/lazy river there. The rooms were lovely. The most comfortable beds ever are there. The windows have nice shades and all have a perfect view. There is no wireless internet connection which stinks but I found a way around it doing all the activities like soccer (my kids did it but close enough), beer contest (husband), and much more. Every night they have people who sing or do a magic show. That makes it very noisy during the night but you normally are watching them. They had a nice hut where you could get games to play (kids will love them).

Outside the hotel are many fun things to do like horseback riding, horseback riding in the ocean, gliding, climing the Dunns River Falls, Snokeling, Golf, and much more.

I looked at the prices and fainted for its low prices. This place should be like $1,000+ a night. We stayed for a week.

Bottom line-THE BEST HOTEL I'VE EVER BEEN TO
