Wonderful hotel located in the uptown Kingston area. Great sightlines, wondeful food and support staff. However, the desk staff is woefully incompetent in their attention to details. They failed to credit my frequent flyer miles to my account, booked me inyo a room that reeked of smoke although I specifically asked for a non-smoker. The female manager was churlish and rude along with being exceedingly full of herself. As a Jamaican national, I take great pride in supporting our resources and will continue to do so in the future. I wonder how many others of foreign national status would be quite so willing to tolerate the front desk staff's behaviours.
Management or ownership needs to take a serious look at a time of declining revenues in the hospitality trade. I would lay a portion of the loss to the staff attitude, lack of service training and the wrong priorities in customer service.
Overall, support staff at the non-front desk functions were civil and demonstrated a keen sense of pride in their contact with me. Would I go back here? Yes I would especially so iif the rude staff was retrained for what they are expexted to do.
