As a frequent visitor to O'Cap, I loved nothing more than to relax along the pool at the Joli, rum punch in hand. The staff is courteous and outgoing. Nicholas, the owner was always on hand buying rounds of drinks and encouraging guests to come with him to the local hang out, Lakay (which sadly burned down since I was last there). Someone looking for the best hotel in the north, they will stay, or at least have dinner, at the Mont Joli.

I have stayed at the Mont Joli many times with my family including over this New Years holiday. Service is always superb. The view from the rooms and bar is encroyable. Staying at the Mont Joli gives the traveler and idea of how Haiti was in its past golden age of tourism.

I have stayed at the Mont Joli for years. It is clean and comfortable(24 hour electricity) The food is excellent and the water is pure. I never get sick when I stay at the Mont Joli. After a day outside the city, it is a haven to return to. I plan to stay there next year when I return. I recommend it to all my friends traveling to Haiti.

I have stayed several times at Mont-Joli and I have stayed at various other hotels not only in Cap-Haitien, but Jacmel and Port-au-Prince.

Bar none... except perhaps Hotel Montana in Port-au-Prince, Mont-Joli is the best hotel in Haiti, comparable to any other great locally owned hotels in the caribbean.
