I went to Haiti for business and research. Most of my stay was at the Villa Creole in Petion Ville. It is a a nice smaller hotel and it is down the street from the El Rancho (which has a great Sunday buffet). Initially I thought the Villa Creole was okay but I was there during the food riots and the management really took care of its staff well. I stayed at the hotel for 20 days and tried out a number of rooms. If you can, go for the deluxe or rooms on the top floor and away from the reception, they are very good. The restaurant food is good, but the portions are small. Wine is also given at a very small amount and it is expensive. The only other thing I did not like was that the pool was too small and right in front of the restaurant so everyone can watch you. The internet is very good at the hotel! And the Haitian manager Mr. Rimble is a super nice guy - so is Roger. Enjoy your stay! C

“A Beautiful and Quaint hotel in PAP”

I stayed at this little hotel twice while traveling on business to Haiti. The hotel is beautiful and tranquil. The entryway leads to a lovely sitting area with open archways looking onto the grounds and pool area of the hotel. The rooms are very comfortable and immaculate. The hotel also feels very safe and secure.

One of the things I enjoyed most about this hotel was the breakfast served each day by the pool under the almond trees.

There are also a series of decks which you can sit on and look out onto Port-au-Prince. It's also a perfect place to watch the sun set!

The restaurant also serves excellent food at all hours of the day. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Haiti.

“Comfortable Stay”

The room was clean and the front desk staff was always friendly and helpful. Cinemax and all major U.S. stations are included. Service at the restaurant was always quick and my order never took longer than 10 minutes. I paid $108 per night and there is a good chance I will stay here again.

This is a very comfortable and relaxing place in the hills of Petionville, and is certainly one of the finer hotels in the country. The rooms are clean and well appointed, the Internet works, the pool is inviting and the restaurant is entirely adequate. While somewhat isolated, it's also within reasonable walking distance of a relatively safe and interesting part of the city.
Some aspects of staying here -- like noisy room air conditioners -- will not meet with your approval if you're expecting a typical upscale hotel experience. But trust me, if you're picky about little details you shouldn't go anywhere near Port-au-Prince in the first place. Haiti is a beautiful, fascinating and very difficult place to visit. The Villa Creole will be the easy part.
