If you want a four star resort with all the bells and whistles, skip the Oloffson. If you want to experence a real jem that has all but disapeared from the world, dont miss the Oloffson. I had stayed at the Oloffson off and on for the past forty years, and it has resmained almost the same. Not so for Haiti, which has suffered greatly. Read the Grahm Green novel "The Comedians" and check out the Oloffson. It remaions the same, with almost all of the same off beat guests. Check out the owner Richard Moorse and his band,RAM for a real treat. Read about him and the hotel in the book "Immaculate Invasion". I stayed at the Oloffson last Nov. 02. If you are looking for luxury, Haiti will be alll wrong for you. The hotel is comfortable and Richard, the owmer was friendly and very helpful to me. The food at the restaurant was very good. My purpose in Haiti is to find artists. Alix Toyo is available to serve as a guide and without his help it would have been difficult to find all the artists. I plan to stay there again when I return.

This Hotel is a trash pit. The owner, Richard Morse, does not keep the place up, and the prices will continue to fluctuate while you are staying there. The staff will accept payments of cash for bar and food purchases and then charge your room again, which leads to serious discrepancies at check-out time, my suggestion do not stay here. hey i think the good of that hotel is that they have that special of the real haiti like they keep it real with that voodoo magic stuff and people from all over are interesting on that voodoo stuff so with there voodoo magic i think the hotel won a score just by having that difference from the other ones.I went there in december and it was amazing,people who would like to go to haiti,just go to that hotel and stay there cauz in december they just rock man,and to the hotel people make sure that u guys still have that room service and the rooms have enought towels and tv with cables okone love to ya
