I have been to Haiti 15 times in the past 23 years. I have stayed onvernite at Kinam, but I have eaten at Kinam several times. The hotel is elegant and the food was outstanding! Since I normally go to Haiti as a missionary, I stay with a group at a guest house, but if I ever had the opportunity, I would stay at Kinam.

I have to admit that Kinam is one of the best hotels that I stayed in so far. When I was in Haiti for my wedding, many people recommended Kinam as a place for my honeymoon. I accepted reluctantly, because I wanted to spend my honeymoon in Jacmel. Needless to say I had I great time. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was welcoming, the people were courteous, they also have a lovely pool. The St. Pierre park and church are right across the street. I love every bit of it. The service was excellent. I highly recommend Kinam to anyone visiting Haiti.

What an intruiging place. I love it that the Kinam is in the centre of Petionville with all its shops, galleries and restaurants. Directly in front of the hotel is some awesome art and craft sidewalk shopping. The hotel is safe (armed guards at the entrance), the food is outstanding (try the cabrit creole--goat) and the pool is never crowded. An easy commute to the airport, Kenscoff or Port-au-Prince by tap-tap or rental car. The only down side I can think of is the dump truck traffic starts early. The rooms facing Place St. Pierre get the brunt of the traffic noise but the "people watching" factor from your balcony makes it all worth while.
I love the Kinam Hotel. I consider it one of my homes away from home during my travels.I have been staying there each time I visited Haiti over the past 20 years. The staff is curteous and friendly, the rooms are clean and there is hot and cold running water in each room. There is a generator to take over supplying the power if the regular electricity is cut due to frequent balckouts. The food in the restaurant is first rate, although not cheap, and the terrace by the pool is a great place to relax and enjoy conversation with friends.
