What a wonderful experience! I've been going to Haiti for the past 10 years, and this was my first time staying at Kaliko Beach. I loved it! I've been there for a day trip, but this time we stayed for a week. The staff was awesome. They treated us so well, and we were there during Hurricane Alpha. The staff went above & beyond their realm of responsibility to ensure that we were taken care of. I travel to Haiti every year doing missionary work, and I love the Haitian people. So kind and compassionate. I will definitely return to Kaliko during my visits to Haiti. God bless!

The atmosphere and the service were great. all i have to say is that if someone had drop me there with my eyes close and later tell me that im in Haiti, i would have never believe it, because they always showing the bad places in Haiti. i cant wait to go back

“An American's experience at Kaliko Beach Club”

This past month (March 2005), I spent a week at Kaliko Beach Club with a friend from the United States. My experience was one of utter relaxation. The rooms were extremely clean with air conditioning and all the towels needed (no tvs or telephones in the rooms, but there is a payphone in the main reception area along with a small gift shop). Electrical outlets were the same as in the United States. Meals were served three times a day and they were delicious (sometimes buffet) complete with dessert! Fresh fruit, fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juice, coffee, pancakes, french toast, and omelettes made to order each morning. Drink tickets were included for each day spent at the resort ($130.00/day) and I found that we received more than enough for sodas and fresh watermelon and lime juice (alcoholic drinks require more tickets). The beach was stoney and there were plenty of lounge chairs to go around, as well as numerous tiki huts. Be sure to bring reading materials, music, and other entertainment, as it gets pretty quiet at night since the resort is secluded. It is also helpful to bring snacks (none are provided outside of meals), as well as any medicines (pepto bismal, immodium). The drinking water is supposedly filtered and I was extremely careful when brushing my teeth, etc, but nonetheless I did become ill. Be sure to have a fruit champagne cola and ask for Gigi who hangs out in the water at the beach, giving tours in his wooden boat. We spent a day chatting with him, as well as swimming and snorkeling near a reef (for a small fee). He is a great guy and a wealth of knowledge. The pool is beautiful (music is at the pool side) and the staff is excellent and very welcoming! Would go back in a hearbeat! Enjoy your stay!!!

When i was at Kaliko i just forgot about the world, work and all the stress. I was just being. I just relaxed and enjoyed. At night the beach is beautiful, i went for a walk and it was the most beautiful sky, and i could see ligths from the fishermen boats. I slept on the beach on many occasions, and it was just magical. I'd go directly from the bungalow to the beach.

The employees took good care of us, the food was amazing, fresh sea food, oysters, coconut water, barbecues.
You should also note, that everything in Haiti is organic food. Breakfast with a lot of fresh fruits. Everything tasted really healthy. And i loved the fresh limonade they serve at the pool bar.

The pool was amazing, and safe for children. And in teh afternoon there is a wonderful breeze. I also had the opportunity to go Les Arcadins. The rooms are very comfortable, with good ac, everything was very clean, (i received all the towels i needed).

I really liked the fact they don't have a lot rooms, it was so relaxing, and so different from the resorts here in The Dominican Rep that are always so crowded. I really felt like it was exclusive. Paradise. I had privacy and felt very secure. And received personal attention. It's litteraly the kind of place that is worth hundreds of $ per day.

It was the very best vacations i ever had, it was 100 times better than what i expected. I didn't want to leave the place.Heaven on earth. I returned home feeling full of energy, and renewed, And can't wait to go back in December.

NB:That person who said it was horrible must have some kind of problem.

I left Haiti when I was 8 years old, I am now 31 and i usually go every year, but when the US media airs haiti it always looks unpleasant when in fact haiti has the most beautiful beaches and good foods. We all know anyplace in the world there is pretty places and ugly, unfortunately they only air ugly.
My experience at the hotel was they pampered me with good food and good service.
