The Hotel El Rancho is a very good hotel from my point of view. Of course you have to review the hotel as a part of the society of Haiti as a whole. The people working at the hotel are professional and polite. The management are doing a great job in hiring the "right" persons for the different jobs. I have stayed at the hotel several times, and my last visit was in september 2003. One of the pools was closed due to reparations for the time being, but that's something that was necessary - and for us staying there, it's good from a long-term perspective.
The rooms are nice enough, and compared with the average haitian standards, it's pure luxus!
I have just one thing to complain about - and that is this rather "american orientation". I would have more of the haitian culture inside the hotel. The hotel is situated in a very nice part of Petion Ville, and I would really like to have more of an haitian environment surrounding me!
Anyway: The hotel El Rancho is from my point of view, a very nice hotel. The food is good, the employees do their services in a calm and friendly way, the pools are being cleaned carefully, the rooms are clean with good air-conditions (a must for people like me from the cold parts of the world!). Most employees speaks english.
As a whole I would give hotel El Rancho a review above average, and I would have no doubt in recommend this hotel for my friends and businesspartners in Haiti!
I'm already looking forward to my next stay during the autumn of 2004!
Au revoir, les employès a Hotel El Rancho!
