My wife and I stayed here two nights and it is surpassingly beautiful. Great views of the caribbean, trees with fresh grapefruit and clementines falling outside your door, delicious breakfast and dinner, friendly and (rare for Guadeloupe) English-speaking couple that runs the place, pool that was clean and at a perfect temperature.

The shower in our room flooded the floor of the bathroom a bit, and there's only one choice -- that is, no choice -- of entree for dinner, so if you don't like what they are serving, you have to drive somewhere else. And depending on what room you have, you may have a bit of an uphill climb with your luggage from your car to your room.

But between the gardens, the view, the pool, the porch with a hammock, and the fresh fruit, this made for a perfect relaxing retreat that was well worth the price.

As the saying goes, Le Jardin Malanga is a bit out of the way, but way out of the ordinary. After winding your way up a narrow road, you will find yourself perched in paradise, looking out over lush landscaped grounds, over the hotel's infinity pool and beyond to the sea and the Iles des Saintes. The cottage accommodations are spacious and comfortable. Each accommodates 2 couples on identical sides--king-size bed, deck with hammock and chairs, large bathing room and separate toilet room. Rooms adjoin via a hallway containing a stairway to a second floor. The upstairs is billed as a children's room, and is furnished with a pair of twin beds, but I would not recommend this option; the stairs are steep and it is hot up there. Besides, this is really a romantic retreat, not a family resort. Breakfasts were ample and delicious, served buffet style. Dinner is a highlight here, with chef Stephane's menu of the day. (He trained at Le Crillon in Paris, among other places, so you will find quite refined cuisine.) One disadvantage- the restaurant closes one night a week (day may change). There is really nowhere conveniently nearby to go in the dark on the steep, windy roads and the hotel was locked up tightly on the closed night---we could not rustle up so much as an ice cube. A small fridge in the rooms would be a welcome addition. Assuming you can entertain yourselves, (and you should be able to!) Le Jardin Malanga would be a lovely honeymoon spot....at any stage of marriage.

My husband and I recently returned from a week long trip to Guadeloupe and we spent our last night at Jardin Malanga. The hotel, located outside of Trois Riviers, is absolutely beautiful in its setting, architecture, and comfort. The main house includes a pretty, open air dining room that opens to the hotel's infinity pool. The views of the ocean are wonderful and the grounds are beautifully landscaped and private. The room is decorated in dark teak (fresh flowers were placed throughout the room) and includes a large deck with comfortable chairs and a hammock. The bathroom was large with nice towels, toiletries (not usually included in Gaudeloupe hotels), and a decent hair dryer (not the usual vacumn hose style). Our dinner was excellent - good food, beautifully presented - and Maude and Stephane were wonderful, gracious hosts. The breakfast was excellent with fresh baked breads, brie, meats, and fruit. We were sad to leave after one night as it is a slice of paradise!

Spectacular hotel. The view is breathtaking, food is unforgettable and the vegetation is exuberant. Very quiet. Spend at elast one day in Iles des Saintes. Sit, relax and enjoy the life.
