If you are on a budget my advice is to either stay at home or save a litte bit more for your holday and book a hotel or at least a clean apartment! We arrived at the WIndward Sands after a long flight and were looking forward to a relaxing drink and a good nights sleep. We were shown to the apartment and my heart sank. I'm not a great fan of cleaning (who is) but i didn't realise that if you stayed here you would have to pack rubber gloves and at least a gallon of bleach!. ( Kim and Aggie would have a field day here!)This place was absolutely filthy. The fridge was dirty. The carpets felt sticky underfoot and not one piece of the ancient furniture was void of cracks or splits. The bathroom well... the wall mounted shower with the electric cables running along the wall was at leat 7 feet above the shower so the average giant would have no problem controling the temperature, but the shower only had one temperature - volcanic! The impressively carved four poster bed looked curiously out of place in the depressed surroundings of the bedroom and on closer inspection of the matress,I realised it was lets say marked by its own long standing history! As an asthmatic my Inhaler worked overtime that night as we both lay rigid on sheets that were not fresh! The night was spent listening to dogs barking incessently and trucks hurtling themselves along the main road to St George. We checked out as soon as the sun came up.
