This resort combines colorful local charm and a friendly casual atmosphere with just enough elegance and sophistication to satisfy my somewhat fussy nature. The emphasis is on the laid-back local charm, which made for a very relaxing and fun one-week stay for us. The standard rooms are a great value -- not luxurious, simple but comfortable. We liked the Bayview and top-floor Indigo with vaulted ceilings. Our friends stayed in a 2-bedroom Villa, which was fantastic -- spacious and elegant, but more expensive. The complimentary full breakfast buffet on the open-air deck over the bay was a great way to start each day. We also enjoyed the bar at sunset. The restaurant was convenient, and the food was fine, not great. Service was good throughout the resort.
The only drawback (a minor one) was the need to take a taxi or the complimentary shuttle to go to the beach. And the place is small so you will want to "get off the reservation" and see the rest of the island. It was a pleasant place to return to after each day's adventure.
