We picked True Blue Bay for its diving school, but we weren't disappointed by the hotel at all. We had one of the basic True Blue type rooms, but it was huge, with a little kitchenette in case you wanted to make your own food rather than go to the restaurant. It had a hairdryer & iron/ironing board too, which was great.

The tower rooms looked good - even bigger room than ours, with a spiral staircase up to a balcony overlooking the sea.

I wouldn't bother with this hotel if you after a beach holiday, as it has a very tiny beach, though you can always get a taxi to the nearest big beach.

Food was great at breakfast, lunch & dinner time and the entertainment in the evening was worth staying in for too, especially on the Caribbean night. Watch out for the cheeky blackbird who swoops in to pinch your omelette in the morning though!

The dive school was good, with three nice boats that were easy to get back into. We felt very safe diving with them as their safety procedures were excellent. They also have a well stocked shop if you need any spares.

Within walking distance of the hotel, approx 10 mins away, is a pharmacy that sells all sorts of bits & pieces to eat, and next door to it is a restaurant that does pizza, burgers etc. We didn't try it, but friends said it was good food, but could be a bit noisy. Another ten mins further on is De Big Fish restaurant, right down by the water. Food was lovely and you don't need to book. Take some mossie spray with you though!

We also booked a couple of excursions and I would recommend the all day island tour and a trip to Fish Friday. You should make the effort to see some of the island and visit the nutmeg factories & rum distilleries. We leanred a lot about the island that day - had a great day out.

So I think this hotel is well worth it for value, food, attitude of the staff, dive school and location. We will be going back next year!

I stayed at True Blue as part of my honeymoon in April (10 days at True Blue in a Tower Room and then 4 days of all-inclusive at Spice Island Beach Resort).
The holiday ws supposed to be 10 days in a reasonaly priced average hotel and the last few days in luxury. But it turned out that True Blue was far nicer (in my humble opinion) than Spice.
The hotel is in such a suprise. It's in a wonderful setting on the bay with amazing views. The rooms are brilliant and quite quirky - none of the usual floral patterns and chintz you see in many Caribbean hotels.
The Tower Rooms are particularly special. They each have a big balcony with bay views AND a spiral staircase leading up to a look-out tower where you can sit and watch the sun going down on the other side of the bay.
The owners (an English guy and his Mexican wife) are really welcoming and all the staff learn your names in about two days.
I can't recommend this small, family run hotel enough - it's full of character. It even has some lovely cats living in the grounds who (if you're privileged enough to be chosen) will come and sit with you on your balcony in the evenings.
Thanks True Blue for a wonderful honeymoon!

We had a wonderful week at the hotel, Binta, Cheryl, Amanda, Glennifer, Salisha, Megan, Randy, they made it great for us. Restaurant theme nights (thank you Chef Charles)made it easy for us to stay in after we had a horrible night at the Aquarium Restaurant. The room was luxurious, clean and comfortable. Housekeeping everyday always tried to work around when you would be out of the room, never rushing you. Great. We felt as if everyone knew us and really cared that we were there. Thanks everyone. We will definitely go back.

I stayed at True Blue Resort for a little under a month...by myself. After settling in, the staff made my stay there soooo enjoyable... The front office staff are so bubbly and full of life. I spent alot of my time out there. The food at the Dodgy Dock bar was tasty and well presented... breakfast was also a treat with all the fresh foods. There is always something to do, whether it is embracing their culture on Grenada night, having a drink at the bar on Wednesday night(party) or learning to salsa on a Friday, even shopping on the premises or getting a massage or a manicure at the spa....The rooms are cozy and clean with all the amenities one would need while travelling. The staff at True Blue went the extra mile and that is why I wrote this review...They surpassed my expectations!

We went with a dive group and this trip was very much beyond my expectations. The rooms were beautiful and the plunge pool was amazing. It was so nice to have a pool in your room to relax in after diving. The resort was very clean. The service was a little slow but it is island time and not the United States. I loved the resort and would recommend it to anyone.
