This was supposed to be a once in a lfetime holiday, and we thought we had found the ideal resort, largely (as usual) based on the reviews here. However, it couldn't have been the same resort that other people rave about.........

On our (late) arrival we were shown to our villa and left to sort out the beds with no linen and no one to help - we had asked for one double room and one twin room for our friend and our son who were sharing but this request via the travel agent had been either not conveyed or ignored - who can say??? However, experience during the week perhaps insinuates that it may be the latter. The bed in our room was a pretty cast iron four poster and it looked really lovely. What a shame we had to sleep in it. Every time you moved there was the most appalling noise. God forbid we had people in the other room - if we had wanted a romantic get away that involved either sleeping or intimacy it would have been a disaster.

The villa was ok - nicely appointed and the kitchen had every amenity you could ask for. The bedrooms were a nice size and each had their own bathrooms, but not that this was much use as you couldn't predict when there would be any hot water to enable you to shower.

There are two swimming pools at the resort - the 'infinity' pool outside the villas where we stayed and a pool up top nearest the reception. The infinity pool was cleaned every morning and we really appreciated the proximity of it. The pool at the top we only visited once, and after having had a swim and then watched someone wash their dog in it (and then watch the dog have a wee in the pool) we left rather sharpish and retreated to the infinity pool. Shame really as our little boy liked the slide despite it's faded grandeur.

The bar and restaurant were our biggest bugbear. The kids menu consisted of four or maybe five items of which four out of the five were fried food. Now, our little one is no vegetarian angel, but even he was sick of burger - fish nuggets - chicken nuggets for lunch and tea every day. Additionally, there was (apparently) a daily special but we were never advised of it. There was a lack of co-ordination between reality and planning with regard to the restaurant and the reception - for example 'enjoy our family sunday brunch from 11am onwards' said the sign in the restaurant. Go to the restaurant and they don't know what you're talking about....... little things, but when you decide en famille to have a lay in and miss breakfast on the strength of the brunch, it's a bit of a pain for them not to actually have one.

Don't expect too much if you take kids. There is nothing for them to do apart from swim - the climbing frame by the toilets is fine for toddlers, but not for any children older than this.

I can imagine that this sounds like nit picking and I am sure we should just have smiled and said 'this is Grenada', but to be honest I expected just 'better', especially for the price of the holiday. It just wasn't up to scratch - can't think of how to put it any better, We were stuck away from anywhere (which usually suits us to be honest) but the hotel's friendly taxi guy seemed to have a flat rate to anywhere close to St Georges or Grand Anse which didn't correspond to reality for the distances involved. So we stayed on resort for quite a lot of the time and just felt short changed with the entertainment, service and lack of activity for our son. We actually loved Grenada, but in a nutshell would not ever return to True Blue Bay. There are the hotels along Grand Anse which, according to conversations with other travellers make True Blue look something like amateurish. Shame really.

Fiance and I stayed for 2 weeks over Easter for the on-site diving school. The diving school was very good, using hotel pool for basic instruction. The hotel is 'boutique', very pretty and romantic with 2 pools and a great bar. The staff are superb, friendly and efficient (Caribbean-style efficient, that is). We started in the cheapest accommodation, the wooden huts. We had the biggest bed I have ever seen, verandah, lovely bathroom, small kitchen. It was a great room, but we had to move when the room above was occupied - the floors were so thin we could hear the family above whispering, nevermind running up and down the wooden stairs, shrieking and even using the bathroom! We moved to a much quieter room, concrete built with a small patio, super quiet. The hotel restaurant is extortionate, but it is easy walk to others which are cheaper and better. The hotel bar would be hard to beat, we loved it. The hotel run free taxis to and from Grand Anse beach, although it is only a 10 minute walk to the main road for the local mini-buses. Overall, very friendly and atmospheric. We would happily return.

The hotel was excellent and staff were great. There is a man made beach which overlooks the bay. There is not much to do for families as its set up for visiting yachts.
The Beach house restaurant which is nearby is fantastic and a very romantic setting for romantics. The food excellent and not expensive. Again very romantic setting.
I was on business so the atmosphere was wasted but I would love to return again with the one I love.
Reserve rooms in the new extention (Indigo, Waterfront etc) I had room over the reception which I thought was great until I saw my colleagues in the above areas.
Greanada beautiful. People fantastic. Weather (Jan) beautiful.

Just got back from dropping my child off at Vet school in Grenada. True Blue Bay's proximity to St. George's campus was wonderful for us. This is a "boutique" hotel with charming rooms and suites. They have all the amenities that one could want except a gym. The spa is convenient and the staff are great. Snorkeling and diving are available. There is so much to do. The staff are some of the friendliest people I have met in my travels AROUND the world, they can make arrangements for anything you would like to do. I can't wait to return!

My husband and I arrived at the reception and were whisked to our tower room by golf cart (Good fun!) The room was huge, the kitchen area was great the only down fall was no hot water in the jacuzzi bath! The people could not be nicer and Lillian (the lady who took care of us and our room) was the best.
There is a secluded beach if you come out of the gate and turn right walk for 6 minutes and then paradise!!! Everywhere is so clean except the chairs at breakfast and dinner (Birds use them as there own loo). Other than that - a wonderful place to chill out and read especially on the double lounger in the bar.
What could be better a good book, good company and jolly good cocktails and a bonus is the beautiful sea to look over - bliss. Will definately go again.
Highly recomend the tours the Island Tour in particular.
