Laluna is a wonderful place to escape. The cottages could not be more comfortable, and watching the sunset from your private plunge pool is heaven. However, there are a few limitations to the property. The food is mediocre, VERY overpriced, and there are limited options nearby (The Beach House, down the beach, a notable exception). The beach is rough and there's abundant coral washed ashore making it an uncomfortable walk into the cloudy water. It was great to visit, and very romantic, but there are much better beaches and food to be found in lovely Grenada.

Room Tip: Not all rooms are created equal and there are pros and cons. I think rooms 7 and 11 are likely the b...

Charming, Quiet, Understated elegance...a romatic getaway of the finest order! Excellent accommodation, great food, excellent spa with exceptional massage offerings and a fine outdoor yoga studio. We had a very romantic stay for our anniversary, and took the beach bungalow and weekend getaway package...it was just exceptional!

Room Tip: Closer to beach the better, but they are all good!

We just returned from staying at Laluna Hotel in Grenada for 7 glorious days. We have traveled a lot and I have to say, Lalauna is the best place if you want friendly, helpful staff; a beautiful beach; relaxation; and delicious food. We kayaked, did yoga, took several half day trips to see the island, and mostly just enjoyed the quiet. We will return next winter for a longer stay.

Room Tip: All cottages have a view.

Peace, relaxing and calm. The food was great, staff friendly. The ocean breathtaking. For the cost of this trip, I had expected a little entertainment in the evening. However you can always make your own :)

Beautiful beach and hillside setting. Very quiet and romantic. Excellent food. Yoga on the beach was heavenly. Massages were wonderful.

My only "complaint" is that like many new hotels, even in a perfect climate like Grenada, the rooms are built for AC. If the rooms had more windows/vents, the night breeze would blow through the room making AC unnecessary. We did not use the AC, we opened the screen-less doors and used the mosquito netting around the bed. Unfortunately, the bed had a "roof" on it which negated the ceiling fan. Never-the-less, we were comfortable and we would stay here again.

Room Tip: All the rooms below the road are excellent. I would not stay above the road - not enough privacy.

This is a 'couples only' destination with 16 hillside cottages set in lush gardens, overlooking the turquoise, clear, warm waters of Morne Rouge beach that is nigh on deserted. The boho chic, eco aesthetic is rather charming but I wouldn't say luxurious; the sanitaryware is Duravit (great), the walls and floors are pigment coloured concrete that actually works well in this environment but the notion of having an 'outside bathroom' doesn't, mainly because of the amount of mosquitos and other biting insects, so showering, putting on your glad rags, etc. post sunset proves a problem, especially as the lighting is also subdued.

The 4 poster beds are very comfortable and spacious, complete with good mosquito nets, but as another reviewer said, some drawers wouldn't go amiss.

Like most places in the Caribbean, the food is not a gourmet's paradise; the limited, Italian-inspired menu is reasonable enough certainly for a few days and then one would want to go elsewhere, after all, there is only so much very al dente pasta one can swallow served with very un-Italian sauces, otherwise it is grilled catch of the day (very acceptable) or other fish, lobster, etc. that one can pre-order. However, breakfast isn't good at all - really dreadful coffee (Nespresso pods) rather perplexing considering the owner is Italian and bland, soft bread that forms doughy, wet balls in the mouth. One can have eggs done any way you would like, but after 7 days one hankers for something else, so I tried the fruit platter, which, one would imagine, being in the Caribbean should be delicious .... no - a few morsels of melon that tasted like potato with underripe mango and 3 slices of banana for me does not constitute a luscious plate. I also tried the yoghurt parfait that again proved to be an endurance test, so in the end we gave up which actually was not a problem at all.

All in all, we came to the Caribbean for the sun and this you get, even if there is a quick shower and we left feeling completely recharged.

I couldn't give this destination 5 stars because I feel the owner has become a little jaded so the whole ambience is slightly off the boil. What would help revitalise the place would be a complete overhaul of the menu - the buck stops with the owner! If he sorts this out, I am sure Laluna would be fully booked and people would return.

On another note, the entire staff were absolutely fantastic - so warm, friendly and obliging without exception.

NB: There is a pretty good restaurant at the other end of the beach (The Beach House) that is a step up on variety, presentation and quality and literally 5 minutes walk.

What a wonderful place to stay ! The hotel is beautiful. The staff were so helpful.
The food was great. I know it is basically Italian cuisine but I think that there could be a choice of some Caribbean cuisine as well.
Don't be concerned with the weather forecast - the rain lasts for 5 minutes and even when it is a bit cloudy - you still have to make sure you have sunscreen on ! The sun beds were very comfortable and the covers regularly changed.
Just a couple of suggestions - (and they are very small !) toast could be a little browner at breakfast and a small chest of drawers in the room wouldn't go a miss !
We were in room 12 at the top of the hill. Yes a bit of a hike - but worth it for the wonderful sunsets !
If you are looking for privacy and a complete rest - this is the place to visit.
