“Awesome country and resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

This was our first time to Grenada. We were not disappointed. The resort is beautiful, the food was amazing. Every restaurant was great! We traveled with our two friends, my husband and I were upgraded to a room with a pool on the balcony. This was neat, but the water in the pool was freezing! We loved the sofa lounge on the balcony, I fell asleep out there many evenings or went out in the middle of the night, so comfy. So relaxing. The island is small and lots of hills and hairpin turns. The people were very friendly. The resort is new and we were there probably the first week or so the resort was on its own after the trainers left. The staff was tentative but still awesome. We had butler service, Marcus was great, his partner has a lot to learn yet. We will definitely return. If looking to explore the island without an official tour, look up Standlee. He was awesome, took us around most of the island (5 hour tour) sharing history and culture and nature. Although the island is small, due to the winding roads, it is impossible to visit the entire island in one day! We ate late lunch at the Aquarium, restaurant near the resort, he dropped us off and we walked back to the resort Food was awesome, view amazing! Although Jamaica is still, our favorite, we will visit Grenada again. They are new to the tourism scene and although warm and friendly, still a bit tentative in their interactions.

Room Tip: Don't opt for pool on balcony, it was freezing!

This was our first visit to an all inclusive place. As it was our belated (3 years late) honeymoon, we chose Sandals - mostly because of the reputiation but and we chose LaSource in particular because it was a new Sandals resort. Reviews of the resort were not too good prior to our leaving for the vaca however we were hopefull that it was mainly due to the resort being so new and that this would not be the norm.

We booked a Pink Gin suite and upon arrival, we were upgraded to a South Seas Millionaire One Bedroom Suite. The Concierge Club staff were so welcoming and really went out of their way to make us feel special. Our suite had its own infiinity pool and hot tub! The bed was huge and the suite was beautifully furnished.

From start to finish everyone of the staff were friendly, helpful and tried to make sure we had the best possible time. The ladies who cleaned our suite, the bar and restaurant star, the gardeners, the luggage handlers, the bus drivers, the Spa and entertainment staff as well as the the rest of the Concierge staff were amazing. Everyone greeted us with a friendly hello, no matter the day or night or the request. We were treated to honeymoon cake one afternoon and a plate of fresh fruit on another - both of which were totally unexpected and a lovely suprise.

We saw nightly entertainment by the main bar - salsa one night, a DJ the next and many people seemed to be enjoying themselves. The staff really went out of their way to get people involved.
The beach was smaller than most would have probably liked however it was beautiful and we had no problem finding chairs and umbrellas to sit and people watch. I will say though we only spent one day at the beach as our suite had everything we wanted and allowed us to have that alone time we craved.

Our main purpose for this honeymoon was to relax and reconnect. Sandals LaSource allowed us to do just that. The staff really seem to care about their guests. Everyday there we felt special.

We took an Island tour and got to learn a bit of the history of the island as well as visit a rum distillery - great 1/2 day trip with lots of information. We want to say thank you to Terry, Krisma and Alliana for making the arrangements, keeping us well hydrated and well informed for the trip. We certainly did 'Live Funner!'

All the restaurants were amazing. My husband and I quibbled about which one was the best - so I will just reiterate that they were all great.

We would also like to thank William, Abdiel, Kevin and Glendon. All of them we're passionate about what they do. All showed tremendous pride in working at Sandals as well as tremendous pride in being Grenadian.

I would defintely return to Sandas LaSource and we are already making plans to visit Beaches, so that our daughter can get to experience a Sandals vaca.

Room Tip: Pink Gin rooms overlook the beach. Italian Village is the middle. South Seas is quieter.

Just returned from an amazing holiday at Sandals Grenada.

As with other people I was a bit apprehensive about the Hotel having read reviews prior to our holiday. But was reassured by our fantastic Travel Agent Jenny Jackson at
www.travel-pa.com/author/jennyjackson/ whom I would certainly recommend.

She had arranged everything for us and even suggested we renew our Wedding Vows (Retie the knot) Best thing she could have done as it was one of the best days of our lives.

I am retired now but have worked in the Hotel Industry for over 30 years. First of all in Hotels and then as a Hotel Management Training Consultant travelling the world and training in some of the world’s top 4 and 5 star Hotels. I can be critical and do notice when a Hotel has problems. I also understand that a new Hotel takes time to get everything right and fully train their staff so you have to make allowances.

If I had any complaints it was to do with Sandals policy rather than the Hotel itself. Charging for Internet access in the lowest category rooms when I can get it for free in a bar in town!
Also the very high costs in the Spa and Photo Shop (Although the quality and service is very good)
We had over 300 pictures taken but it was $500 just for 24 on Disc, it seems a shame that all the rest are deleted but the costs were just too high. We also purchased a DVD and more pictures were put on here but this was also very expensive.
We certainly did not have any real issues with Sandals Grenada.
It was our 5th Sandals Hotel and certainly the best yet. Peter Fraser the General Manager and his team has worked wonders to get the hotel to such a high standard in such a short time. The staff make this Hotel, nothing is too much trouble for them and they always greet you with a smile on their face.

We were in a Walkout Junior Suite (8111) in the South Seas Village. To be honest I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. The Room was bright and modern. It was in a very quiet area with a small pool by the block of rooms, and yet close enough to the action if we wanted it. We did not feel we missed out not having Butler Service.

We never had problems reserving beds. In fact on one visit to the Beach the Butlers offered to find us chairs. The Beach is not the best we have been to but certainly not the worst, we enjoyed swimming in the sea and there was a lovely breeze to take away the strong heat.

We were always able to reserve a table in the two restaurants that required table reservations and never had a long wait at the other Restaurants.

We loved the Swim up Bar – It was not too loud, Danny the DJ will play what you want. The Entertainment Staff and Bar Staff work really hard to make sure you have a good time. Sometimes some of the guests have ‘too good a time’ but that is the same in any all inclusive hotel. The Pizza girls are brilliant. All the Restaurant s have friendly helpful staff and Management. Sometimes the service is a little slow, but this is a new opening and it takes time to train staff and get it just right.

If you are thinking of renewing your wedding Vows – Don’t think about it do it.
As I have already said they make it very special for you. The Wedding Coordinators Jenny and Deanette really looked after us. Nothing was too much trouble. We chose our Venue, tasted all the cakes (along with Champagne) decided on the type of ceremony , what food we wanted at our reception and they even typed our Vows out for us on lovely card to take back home along with a gift from the Hotel.

The girls in the Spa were so lovely - They did my Make up and a Manicure/Pedicure - Everything was perfect and so good my Husband went the next day for a Pedicure!

Also a big Thank you to the team at Snap Shots. The Photo’s and DVD were of a very high quality. We really enjoyed the whole experience with them. Just wish we could have purchased more.

We invited a lot of the staff to come along and some even came in on their day off – What amazing people. We cannot name them all as we are sure to miss some
out. They will always be remembered and we will certainly be back again to see them all.

A big thank you to our Room Maid - I told my husband to wear a linen shirt over trousers and flip flops. She looked at him and politely suggested he tuck his shirt in and wear shoes and she had seen my long dress and thought it looked more suitable - She was so right and he looked gorgeous!

To sum up I would say this is one of the best hotels we have EVER stayed in. With a fantastic Management Team, Wonderful Staff, excellent Food and Beautiful Rooms and Gardens.

If you have a problem tell someone and it will be resolved – Don’t just write a bad comment on Trip Advisor while you are still at the hotel. Give them a chance. We had a problem in Butch’s on our last night. I mentioned to Peter Fraser that the Short Ribs were dry. He apologised and asked us to meet him the following day in Spice’s. We were leaving that day but went to the Restaurant where the Executive Chef bought out the best plate of Ribs we have ever tasted – Now that is Customer service!

This was our first Sandals trip. We stayed 03 - 17 April in a pink gin room which was adequate but like numerous others not sure about the window into the shower, however, we did forget about it after a while. The bed is extremely comfortable and the bedding very good. The room got serviced twice a day with fresh towels each time.

We are beach lovers so spent our time there. A lot of people have complained about the beach but we didn't mind and it was quite fun getting in and out of the water (did fall over a few times). A tip to get in with ease, go in at the Neptunes end.

The grounds were beautiful and can only get better. Gardeners in evidence all the time tending to the plants. Every member of staff would stop, say good morning etc and ask if we were having a nice day. They really were the most pleasant staff I have ever encountered.

As with previous reports, Butlers do put towels out early but didn't find this a problem as I am an early riser. Sandals do need to adhere to their policy of removing the towels off the beds if not used though. The resort has a lovely lay out and is very compact. When you lie on the beach you really are not very far from the bar (Neptunes). I therefore found it ironic to hear one couple from the USA phoning their butler to bring them drinks! I personally would not want a butler as all the staff were extremely helpful and there was a drinks service on the beach with the lovely smiling girls.

The restaurants were all very good with Butch's and the French being our favourite. We didn't get to try the sushi restaurant. It is a really good show in Kimonos and the food is also good. Without exception all staff in the restaurants are exremely polite and friendly and cannot do enough for you. Spices was our favourite for breakfast with their lovely champagne mimosas to start off the day. We liked Neptunes for lunch but did have a couple of pizzas from Dinos which were delicious. Oh and the Cafe de Paris - the lovely nutmeg icecream and cakes and also little sandwiches at tea time. The service is excellent and I must commend Sandals on their training. I cannot remember all the staff names but the stand outs for us were at Neptunes. All the staff there were amazing and a big thank you to Reina and Tyrone for getting my glass of champagne and a beer for my husband on the bar when they saw us coming. You never had to ask for a refill in Neptunes as they just kept topping you up. They were wonderful. My husband also spent a lot of time there watching the football! Also a big thank you to James the young sports organiser who is a lovely lad, so pleasant and well mannered. He rounded up all the men for the football and water polo etc.

We went on the sunset cruise and the full day catamaran trip. I would hightly recommend both. They are excellent trips and the little island you go to for lunch on the catamaran trip is fab, just like a Robinson Crusoe island. You also get a really good BBQ lunch of lobser, chicken or fish.

We met some amazing friends - Dan and Maryanne and will definately meet up for a weekend. Also Mike and Caroline, Andy and Lee and many others. You all really made our holiday.

Just one complaint. The living room area where the entertainment takes place in the night has no lighting around the raised decking area at the perimeter and I tripped over it and fell one evening. This needs to be rectified immediately.

Grenada is a beautiful island and its people are genuinely lovely and are very proud of their island and its heritage. Sandals Lasource is a very lovely hotel and I would definately return.

This is Sandals newest resort to be added and didn't disappoint us. The few minor issues can easily be remedied that this will be the Sandals everyone will want to go to. The layout of this resort though is not for anyone who has difficulty getting around as the walkways are steep and there are stairs/steps into most of the restaurants. The people working at the resort have quickly learned the Sandals expectations. Everyone went out of their way to make our vacation special. Satar -- we are happy to call you a friend just a pleasure to see your smile each day and chat with you. There were just so many individuals that stood out during our 2 week stay -- Gillian at Neptunes, Syndey at Butchs, Arielle and Cassie at Cas. Romana, Germaine on the beach team, Erica on beach bar service to Glendonne in the Club Conceirge area. Our room was in the South Seas section and was a walkout with the soaking tub on our patio steps away from an infinity swimming pool. Room was very modern. Curtains went up on the patio our second week if you wanted to have a bath outside in private.
Food was amazing..... Loved the hot dog cart -- what a great addition. Butchs Steak house was amazing -- just about any cut of steak you could want was available. Reservations required but was never a problem -- we would book a day or two ahead to get the time we wanted. Beach party food was the best we've ever had -- and nice that the food was out in the Neptunes restaurant and pool area so you weren't trying to get your plate while standing in the sand. Entertainment was great -- different each of the beach parties we were there for which was nice if you were there more than a week. Loved all the couch and chairs throughout the resort if you wanted to just sit and relax.
Liked how close you are to the airport --- only a few flights arrive each day so you aren't bothered by the noise at the resort.
Lots of beach chairs on the beach and around the pools. Liked that there was lots of clean beach towels available all day.
Just can't say enough about this resort... we will definitely return.

Room Tip: personally I wouldn't want to stay in the Pink Gin section. Its too close to the beach and pool...

Our arrival into grenada was delayed by airline difficulties and we ended up arriving at 7:00 in the morning after an unexpected delay in Trinidad the night before where both immigration and customs required 4 hours of waiting. The resort staff went out of their way to get us checked into our one bedroom suite within the next half hour. Our two butlers Shae and Shirly Ann were fabulous. On the night of my husbands 40th birthday we celebrated with an intimate dinner for two under the stars and Shae even provided the music that night by signing a fabulous song-he has a beautiful voice. The private pool was great and made leaving the room almost unnecessary most days. The restaurants were outstanding overall except for the neptunes and cucina romano were just ok. The two couples massages from the spa were the best we have ever had. The only complaints would be that the water at the beach is a too rough for swimming and difficult to get into and out of and that our whirlpool was never warm at night on the first 4 days of our stay despite repeated attempts by our butler to correct the problem. However after multiple complaints the problem was finally resolved on day 5. Also minimal activities were offered as entertainment and the few organized events were short and we missed them with dinner. Would recommend a trip around the island to experience grenada, but beware there are no street signs anywhere and the map is difficult to follow, however everyone we asked for directions were very friendly. In the future would just have a private suite and pool without the butler service but don't think that is an option and the logistics of getting to grenada are difficult and time consuming at the best, expect to wait a long time with security and customs/immigration.

Room Tip: loved the privacy of the south seas honeymoon suite with private pool oasis
