We stayed at the Flamboyant in September 2007 and have just returned from another two weeks. This time we travelled with another couple, who enjoyed it just as much as we did. The Flamboyant has good sized rooms with big, comfortable beds and every room has the stunning view down Grand Anse Beach, across the bay to St Georges and the hills behind. Our rooms were kept very clean and the hotel provides a high level of efficieny, without losing the Caribbiean feel. There are steps, so if you are at the lower end of the fitness scale, ask for one of the lower level rooms.

We didn't eat much in the hotel this trip because Helen at Dive Grenada is a source of great restaurant recommendations. Helen is also an excellent Dive Guide. We dived with Dive Grenada on ten days (20 dives) over the fortnight and loved every one. On the first dive in Flamingo Bay a Manta Ray majestically swam past us about three minutes after we started the dive. A great way to start the trip! Dive Greanda is now owned by "Fishy" Phil and Helen, who are a great couple. The dive centre is very professionally run with a good collection of new equipment and experienced and friendly staff. The diving is brilliant. The reefs are beautiful as this part of the Caribbean has fantastic soft coral and sponges in large quantity that provide a stunning, colourful vista. We saw several eagle rays, barracuda, nurse shark, tuna, jacks and there is a wealth of small critters to see in amongst the reef flora. There are lots of my favourithe fish; filefish, trunkfish, parrotfish, trigger fish etc. The diving ranges from the easy (12-14m reefs) to medium (20-25m reefs and wrecks) to the deep wrecks (30m +) like the Bianca C, Hildur, Rhum Runner etc so whateveryou want to do, there is plenty of it.

We had 2 weeks AI - excellent value. The setting of the hotel is magical and the room brilliant. All the staff and managers were welcoming, efficient and anxious that our stay be memorable. The hotel is extremely clean and has clearly had a lot of work done on it. The pool is large and very well maintained and the dining areas are super. The food was very good - wide choice and generous helpings. Added bonus - free broadband! Take your netbook.
Tips - bring own flippers and snorkel as supply limited at hotel; also darts and table tennis equipment if keen (there are boards and table)

We have recently returned from a wonderful fortnight stay A.I at the Flamboyant. We chose the hotel as a result of reading the reviews on tripadvisor and was not disappointed. The Famboyant is a good 3 star hotel. The rooms are comfortable and have adequate facilities, although I would advise that ladies take a make up mirror as there is no mirror directly under a light. Beach towels are available free of charge from reception and can be changed daily.
In our view the food is of a good standard with adequate choice. The lunch time meals served beside the Owl bar however are excellent. Tea time snacks are also available. A lovely packed meal was provided to us when we requested one.
Much has been written about about the steps which do seem endless at times, but they seem to add to the charm of the hotel and enable the hotel to have its stunning views of the wide expanse of Grand Anse beach and St Georges at the other side of the bay.
Our evenings were spent in the Owl Bar and were enhanced by talking to the locals for whom the Owl is a regular night spot. The pool tables one of which is free of charge to use are well used but are in desperate need of some attention. The Monday night crab races are fun and the high light of the week for adults and children alike.
Apart from the location undoubtely the best thing about the Flamboyant are the staff. The M.D Mr Lawence Lambert is a nice approachable man who is eager to please his guests as are all of his staff. They are without doubt the most friendly hotel staff that we have encountered. They all go out of their way to try and please and be sociable. However special mention must go to Clovis who makes the most wonderful cocktails and was missed when not on duty in the Owl, Karisa and Roxanne who along with all the staff that were on duty made our daughters Birthday such a special day, Shelley, Vadie, Natursha, Veron, Alex, Abbey and Richard. A beautiful and scruptious suprise Birthday cake was presented to her which made her evening.
We can't wait to return hopefully next year.

Grenada.
Grenada is a beautiful, unspoilt friendly island. It is well worth exploring whilst you are there. However uncharacteristically for us we got conned whilst on a courtesy tour with Virgin to to the Spice Market. PLEASE BE WARNED ABOUT A CHAP CALLED RANDY who preys on people around the Esplande Mall and spice market area of St Georges. His tact is that he starts to chats with you as you are browsing one of the stalls and then offers to introduce you to one of his relatives and before you are aware of it he's escorting you around. He is nothing to do with Virgin and does not state that he operates as an unofficial tour guide. As we approached the bus he damanded 120 EC Dollars, we refused to give him that and gave him half of what he demanded but we were extremely annoyed that we had stupidly handed that much over.
In contrast' if visting St Georges independently it is well worth returning to your hotel with The Viking boat taxi which is run by a lovely friendly local man called David. We also hired him and his boat for 2 lovely afternoons at very reasonable cost.

I had the pleasure of staying at this Hotel for seven [7] days and to be honest it was truly an experience to behold. The meals were wonderful and seem to always consist of a mix of European, North American and Caribbean flavors. Kudos to all the chefs.

Thanks to the staff in the dining area who were always pleasant, courteous and had a smile on their faces. In particular Vadio, Kerisa, Neron, Roxann and Sabra.

To all the other staff working behind the scenes who made my stay as pleasant as it was, I thank thee. You can rest assured that whenever I return to Grenada I will be staying at the Flamboyant. I will also like to recommend this Hotel, without any hesitation, to all visitors to Grenada.

I am surprised by some of these reviews on this hotel. I returned from a trip to Grenada last month after staying at the Flamboyant for 2 nights and moving out. The room I was given had interconnecting doors to the next one and the people in it were inbelievably noisy. I asked for another room, went to check it out and it was the same so I left the next day. If you are on all inclusive like some writers, it probably is good value, the breakfasts were great, but drinks were pricey. The views are wonderful, but no chance to enjoy them if the person next to you is screaming from their balcony to their friend on the floor below. The staff were completely uninterested in resolving this. I would not go back.
