“Comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

We stayed at flamboyant hotel for only one night. We stayed in a deluxe ocean view room. It was very spacious and comfortable. The beds were excellent , the room shinny clean and the view of grand anse beach breath taking. We wished we could have stayed there longer. Very nice hotel and really felt at home. All the staff and especially the front desk were welcoming, friendly and kind. They really extended themselves to please us, asking sure everything is okay with our stay. The pools is large and again has a wonderful view overlooking Grand Anse beach. We would definitely return.

I stayed at the Flamboyant Hotel & Villas on an All Inclusive basis for 14 nights (23 June-07 July 2013) and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was a quiet period for the hotel and consequently there were fewer events and activities for guests than normal but I was impressed by the range and variety of the meals on offer and by the excellent service provided by its evidently highly trained staff. At every level, I was made to feel very welcome and it was no trouble to the staff to seek to accommodate my many requests and requirements. My allocated ocean view deluxe room was perhaps not the plushest that I have ever experienced but it was spacious, comfortable and clean. Indeed, the Flamboyant's attention to cleanliness and basic hygiene is impressive and reassuring. Most of the buildings of the Flamboyant Hotel are located on steep inclines which would be a challenge to the fittest of guests but this is compensated for by the panoramic views, one enjoys from the comfort of one's bedroom, of the picturesque St George's Harbour and the world-famous Grand Anse Beach. Among the facilities at the hotel are a full-size swimming pool, extensive beachfront dining restaurants, a well-stocked late night bar. The highlight of one's stay at the Flamboyant is the regular 'Monday evening' Manager's Rum Punch party (attended by both hotel guests and externally invited guests), followed by crab racing (which for its level of animation and participation could be mistaken for Royal Ascot or the Grand National), on which bets are taken and funds raised for local causes. As a Grenadian, I am proud to be able to say that the Flamboyant Hotel & Villas are a fine example of Grenadian hospitality and for this alone, it is highly recommended!

Room Tip: Ocean-facing rooms and suites on the higher floors and slopes/inclines of the Flamboyant provide for...

If you are going to Grenada to dive, this is the spot. You can walk down to the dive shop - Dive Grenada Scuba Centre, it the best one. The hotel is old but clean, lousy food, but there is plenty of good food at the hotel next door and down the beach at Umbrellas which is also the best food on the island. It's no resort, but worth the cost just for the view... There are no super high end resorts on the island, but if you are going there to dive, this is the spot to be.

Room Tip: Buildign 3 is the best. Less walking up & down the hill.

I had a great time here! staff are lovely, rooms are ok and bathroom a bit dated but worth every penny given the lovelyness of everyone. Not a huge range of food but enough, its hot out there and the drinks are great (we made the most of these) beach is beautiful and inclusive snorkelling in my deal so made the most of it, great! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a budget holiday and a plesant stay in Grenada! I would defo come back!

Room Tip: higher up you are the better, although lots of stairs so beware

This is an average hotel- no frills- comfortable/ clean rooms that can use some updating. If you are tall be aware of the low shower heads. Extremely nice staff- if there are any issues they are quick to react and solve. Be prepared to hike the stairs to your room and back from the beach, pool or restaurant. If you enjoy breakfast be warned of the very limited $20 breakfast buffet.

Overall you go there not to be in your room. It is fine for a short visit.

We have recently returned from our 11th holiday to Grenada and our 9th stay at the Flamboyant, which we now consider our home from home. It is a very friendly family run hotel, with all rooms giving you that fantastic view down the length of Grand Anse beach and across the bay to St Georges. The rooms are all spacious and clean with varying levels of self catering facilities, so ensure when booking that you ask for the facilities that you will need for your stay, all the rooms can be seen by visiting the hotel website. A lot of people comment on the amunt of steps so if you are physically challenged you will need to use th hotel buggy which is available all day up until 2300 at night to ferry you up and down. We see this as being part of the charm of the hotel.

This visit we had a one bedroom suite in Moonwalk which suited our needs in every way as we were on room only. We had full kitchen facilities which we utilised to provide our breakfasts but mainly ate out for lunch and dinner. The Owl Bar provides a good snack menu through the day and night at very reasonable prices, but if gourmet food is more your style the main restaurant serves excellent meals in the evening and obviously the price varies accordingly.

What has always been the biggest plus of the Flamboyant is the friendliness of the staff, with nothing ever too much trouble and all requests fulfilled. But in true Caribbean fashion it may take a little longer than most of us are used to, but in the end we get what we ask for.

Our thanks go out to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable in particular Shelly, Peter, Vadie, Stevon, Neron, Natursha, Kendra and Leandra, if we havn't mentioned anyone by name it is not a slight but just the old Carib befuddled brain not recalling all the names.

One of the best experiences is the Crab racing at the Owl Bar on a Monday night, this follows on from the Rum Punch Party which probably helps in loosening the purse strings for the betting. I had a very succesful first week but it was all returned on the second Monday.

Lawrence Lambert is the life and blood of the hotel and is approaching his 25th anniversay of managing the hotel next April. He always makes himself known to the guests and not only being very friendly is a mine of information about Grenada.

We love the island and it's people and have now bought land and will build our retirement home in the not too distant future. We have introduced other friends to the delights of Grenada and the Flamboyant who now return each year and like us are planning for next year. If you want a peaceful holiday in the warmth of the Caribbean then Grenada is the island to visit and get full value for your money.

All in all Grenada and the Flamboyant compliment each other and are well worth a visit.

I now have my island nickname so no longer go under the name of David on island but Airstrip, if you could see how I am follically challenged all would be obvious.

Room Tip: Use the website to view the rooms on the site map to get an indication as to what is provided in eac...

I was a little disappointed with the Flamboyant. Maybe it was the split location across the road and steps. Perhaps it was the short (pricey) menu. Or it could have been that the externals need a bit of a refresh and maintenance. Only the beach restaurant was open in late May.
But there are lots of plus points. Light, airy, comfortable, large rooms, A useful little kitchenette. Terrific views of Grand Anse Beach too.
