“Fabulous beach-side rooms in perfect position”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2010

We stayed in aSeagrape suite which must provide some of the best holiday accommodation in the world. They comrise a bathroom with oversize spa bath and separate shower, a very large bedroom, a sitting area with television , an outside covered area and a patio. And only a few steps away is the vast spread of Grand Anse beach.
As well as being superbly situated by the beach, the hotel is only a couple of hundred yards from a shopping mall which has a supermarket and a bank as well as outfitters and a few other shops. A short distance further is a pharmacy and some other shops. There are also some nice walks to be taken from the hotel, and if you wish to visit St Georges the local bus leaves from the end of the road.
The staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. The bar is good and generally well stocked. The food is very good and certainly reflects the wide range of spices and vegetables available on the island.
To us the one down side was the wines available as part of the all-inclusive package. Although many people were guzzling large quantities, presumably because it was "free", the wines appeared to have been bought with low cost being the only desired attribute - we saw the same wines in the local supermarket and they were the cheapest by a fair margin. A pity, as the rest of the hotel's provisiom was very good

Stayed at the Resort for 9 nights during Feb 2010 in a Sea Grape Suite, which was right on the beach. Accommodation was excellent and kept spotlessly clean. Fine dining every night, except Fridays, when it is buffet service. Staff and management were so friendly and helpful. Would definately go back.

I won this vacation from the Regis and Kelly Live TV program. This was truly a great prize! The adventure of a lifetime for my husband and myself, we had never been south anywhere tropical before. I fear nowhere else will ever meet the standard set by Spice Island Beach Resort. We were spoiled from start to finish!
Spice Island is a fabulous place to stay, it is meticulously kept, the staff are amazing nothing is ever too much trouble.
Even though we arrived around 10 pm we were greeted warmly, given cold fruit drinks and chilled damp towels at the check in desk. We were escorted to our suite and when it was noted I had mobility concerns we were offered a suite nearer the main part of the facility. We were so tired we opted to stay the night in the first room and our luggage was moved to the new suite the next morning while we were at breakfast. The Seagrape Suites are so comfortable we felt at home immediately, the private patio leading onto the beach is a wonderful spot to relax day and night. The skylight above the whirpool tub lights up the whole suite all day and the moonlight streamed in at night, yes you can watch the moon and the stars while you bathe. The towels are thick and soft, the bathroom gleamingly clean, the Molton Brown toiletries a luxury to enjoy.
The bed and the bedding is top notch, if I could have packed up my bed and pillows and brought them home I would have, it was just so comfortable. I have never slept so comfortably in any hotel before.
The buffet for breakfast was always great, the fresh baked goods and fruit were my favourites, the few times my hubby tired the cooked options off the menu he enjoyed them. Had great fun watching the birds stealing sweet & low packets and any other food scraps they could get to before the staff could shoo the birds away and bus the table. The dining areas and bar are open to the tropical breezes and the birds swoop in to take advantage of this. There are no bugs not even at night, no meal is ever spoiled by misquitoes or even moths. We brought insect repellant with us that we never even opened there was never a need.
Lunch offers many options, something different everyday, if you want something off the menu just ask and so long as they have the ingredients they will make what ever you want to eat. This was true at any meal and for room service too.
Dinner was a real adventure the menu changes every night, always lots of options to choose from and all very gourmet and delicious. Always a local fish to choose from seafood a real feature as are local fruits and vegtables. The service and the presentation of the food is first class all the way. Desserts offer something special every night or opt for the ice cream made there in exotic flavours, all amazingly good.
The pool is saline and a wondeful place to cool off and enjoy the afternoon. The beach itself is clean, the patio and sand areas in front of the resort regularly raked and cleaned the sand is fine and soft and the grounds of the resort well kept and beatuifully planted.
But most of all it is the staff that make Spice Island a pleasure to visit they are friendly, cheerful always ready to answer questions and help in anyway possible. I can not praise them enough, they made our visit so special, I will remember their smiles and kindness long after other memories of our vacation fade.

I just returned from this resort last week, and it was fantastic! Wonderful room, gracious staff, delicious food, etc. Like one of the previous reviewers, I won my trip from the TV show Live with Regis and Kelly, and I couldn't be more grateful. The beaches were fabulous, probably among the most beautiful in the world. I used the spa and was given a wonderful massage by Izra (hope I'm spelling her name right!). We took a tour of the surrounding area with Jude -- who did an excellent jog as a driver and tour guide. Thank you to everyone at the resort for making it so special!

Fantastic holiday for old and young alike. I cannot criticise any aspect of the service in this hotel and the food was superb.

My husband and I honeymooned in Grenada in May 2009. We stayed 3 days at La Luna (which was also unbelievably amazing) and the last 4 nights were spent at Spice Island. We had the Luxury Almond Pool Suite. (We were able to tour the rooms when we got there and I would recommend this suite as you get all of the service of the other suites, yet your room has a glass wall that actually opens up and allows you to directly dive into the huge pool. The other rooms have a wooden railing that prevent you from just jumping in). The service was unmatched by any place I have ever stayed. The food was amazing and the views were breathtaking. Note--- if you choose to stay in one of the suites.. none of them are beachfront. (b/c of the huge private pool). The Beachfront rooms are very nice as well, just smaller than the suites (with no private pool). The beach area is clean and they offer free snorkeling gear and free access to boats. Tour guides are available to take you around the island-- ask for Tom. I could not have imagined a better place to honeymoon. We will be back.
PS.. you must try some Roti for lunch
PSS- it was very private as only 12 other people were there. We felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves.
