“4 start.. not 5 star”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

We started our holiday by staying here for a week over the new year. Having booked a almond suite with pool I was glad we had as the seagrape suites, are yes on the beach but have people (other residents and locals) walking past and are able to see in.
The room was lovely however after staying at some of the top hotels in the world, i personally wouldnt class the resort as 5 star, it would be a good 4 star. The decor needed a touch up in most areas and the bathroom could do with overhauling and bringing more up to date. White marble is nice but very 80's.
The restaurant food was excellent but the ambiance lets it down. It feels more like a canteen with then trying to get you in and out. Tables are set quite close to each other so you dont really get much privacy.
Staff were friendly and greeted you by name which was a nice touch.

“A wonderful place to relax and get away from it all”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

We started our "Island Hopping" by spending a week here over Christmas-(just got back 2 weeks ago hence the delayed report)
A small (64 rooms) very well run hotel specialising in looking after you on an individual basis. Excellent staff where nothing was too much trouble. A really good selection of local food using local fresh ingredients but cooked and presented in an "international fashion"
The room-you must get a beach front room-was great-the "ski in ski out" beach access is a must. The sea is clear and warm with a lovely sandy beach starting from only a few feet from your own terrace. You can also take a good three mile round trip walk (or run) along the beach-it is very safe.
All of the staff without exception were fantastic-which is a credit to Brian The General Manager who leads by example by being out there all the time.
Only word of advice-arrive by an international carrier and DO NOT use LIAT-the local airline which is a disaster.

Room Tip: Get a beach front-it is a must

“Amazing Honeymoon 2013”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like we had arrived somewhere special. The very friendly staff, fabulous food and attention to detail was commendable. Nothing was too much effort.
We stayed in a villa suite that was kept beautifully clean, lots of regular ice delivered for our Gin and Tonics in the huge Jacuzzi bath.
We had a complete wind down listening to the waves of Grand anse beach on the white sandy beach absorbed in our books.
My only negative was the spa. Quite an expensive massage was missing the special personal friendly touches one would expect.
We were waved off by the manager which was a lovely touch. Thanks to all the team at Spice we will be back.

“Best Hotel--- Low Key,understated yet refined!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

We have been 3 times to this hotel..as a family. So much so my kids called it their home away from home...the staff are fantastic!
The beach is amazing the relaxed style, so laid back and yet stylish..what a perfect escape... it's a perfect size, not either too small or big.
I would stay here every year if I could!

Room Tip: Ocean front...on the right hand side(facing the sea).

“The finest place I have ever stayed.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2013

The spice island inn is close to perfect. As if waking up to grand anse beach in your "front yard" isn't enough, the staff is delightful. Each evening we gathered on the beach to watch the sunset and the sand crabs come out from hiding and listened to enchanting stories from the Grenadians. Loved every minute of my 8 days.
