The Carenage is the area where some boats and water taxis arrive in St. George. It is very picturesque. There are some stores and restaurants but the main market is on the other side of town (about 5 minute walk) It is nice to stroll through.
Take a local bus into the main terminal in St. George's by the mall and walk around downtown. You can follow the streets up to one of the forts for a better view. Easier and better to see on foot.
The :)Christ of the Deep statue watches over the lagoon, while local boats go about their business: fishing, tours, water taxis, and other daily visitors buzz about. Surrounded by some nice restaurants & shopping
Love the Carenage, it has been restored to better than before the hurricane Ivan in 2004! We boarded the S/V Mandalay at the dock. The little vendor shops have moved into the building next to the dock and Visitor Center. This is so beautiful at night!

This could be such a beautiful place. They really need to invest a little bit into this area.
