After sailing a week in the Grenadines, I started my land-based week in Grenada at the Lodge. Matt, son of the owner Mark, picked me up from the Osprey Ferry from Carricou. The first day I was treated to a short tour of St Georges by Mark. He pointed out some of the history of the area, its landmarks, and the beaches. He explained how to use the bus system which is frequent and cheap (except during elections!). The Lodge as many have pointed out offers spectacular views and in itself is an amazing residence. There is a standard breakfast each day of fresh local fruits, cereals etc. The real treat is at dinner with a variety of mouthwatering dishes accompanied by relaxing Jazz! I did a day hike with Grenada's infamous Telfor which was arranged by Mark. It is definitely a place to relax and unwind away from the resort bars and beaches.
