“Blissful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2011

During our 21 day stay, we must have come to Morne Rouge at least 14 times and only once was it anywhere near busy and that was when a German cruise ship came into St Georges and the passengers were shipped to the beach.
Beautifully clean and safe. The only drawback is the price of a drink at the 2 bars that are open all week. the one small beach bar that only opens at weekends, is spot on for price and service, so if possible, take your own drinks with you.
There are loungers to be rented for $5 or 10EC per day, you can arrange a deal if you will use them for a week etc.

“A little disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

We were here from a cruise ship. Was actually scheduled for another beach but got sidetracked and went to this instead. I was very disappointed. Ive never been to these places and really looking forward to the crystal clear water and soft sand beaches. This one didnt have it. It was very short, probably 20 people there, seaweed covered the sand, the ocean bottom was grass. Taxi driver told us they dont charge for chairs. That was a lie. They charged $5. We complained because of what we were told and he at least gave us 2 chairs for $5. Our friends had taken our original plans and went to Grande Anse and said it was fabulous just adding to my disappointment. If you dont have high expectations and just want to be away from everything and have peace and quiet then you'll like it.

“Peaceful beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2011

Morne Rouge (BBC) is quiet, clean (swept every morning) and the waters are calmer than on Grande Anse beach. This was our favourite beach, and we were happy to walk here (we didn't find a bus to take us there).

The beach is also popular with locals, especially later in the afternoon. There is a big hotel complex behind the beach, but it was always quiet, with plenty of room for everyone. There are plenty of trees along the sand to provide shade. There are also some snorkelling opportunities around the headland, although the water was a bit murky during our stay.

There is a restaurant/bar near the main entrance to the beach, and we enjoyed a few drinks there during our holiday - usually watching the sun go down over the sea - beautiful!

“Not our favorite beach”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2011 via mobile

We stayed on Morne Rouge beach in 2010 for a week and would not go there again. We like a beach with some waves and a long beach to walk and this one is dead calm and rather short. It also doesn't have that intense turquoise color other beaches have. Much preferred Grand Anse and other beaches we found. There's also no view of the beautiful mountains like on other beaches. It's a hike to get to Grand Anse, too.

“OMG have I been there, how many times, will we be back of course!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2010

Morne Rouge (BBC) is the BEST beach in Grenada that is public... We found an awesome one on the way to Hogg Island, by Calivigny which was super nice, but that island has now been bought!
BBC is for anyone who likes peace and quiet - but still can be fun if you get to know people - the only thing to wreck the quiet is when the Rum Runner comes in when the cruise ships are in - but hey, people gotta eat/live! And they're only around for a few hrs and bring business to our local friends, so it's all good.
We preferred it to Grand anse. We were there twice in 1 year - and the second time, did not even LEAVE our BEACH for a week! Of course, that might've had something to do with the regular visits by our local friends... LOL
Absolutely one of the top 2 beaches we've ever been to, and are planning a return again for next year!!!!
