The Bannister Hotel experience for us was great!!
The Experience: way too far different and exclusive!!
It lets you definitely experiment the OPPOSITE of the massificated All Inclusive (which I hate and I've never and will never go here in DR)
Entering the Marina at Puerto Bahia: Excellent security conditions,it is located 5 minutes before entering the town of Samana. Be sure to book before you go, otherwise for security reasons you can't go in, thats perfect because it's private and exclusive.
Parking is perfect in case you go with your own car, because you leave it without extra charge
The lobby is wonderful, always chill out - Cafe del Mar music sounds! Attention is great at the lobby. Even if you're before your check in time, you can literally chill in front of the marina.
The Room: Ammenities Excellent!!! you have excellent cable, modern tv, luxurious bed, living room, room (junior suite), the "aqua di parma" amenities at the bathroom, the hair dryer is not the typical hanging in the wall, the bathroom is very luxurious!! as the amenities in there too! We booked a Mountain View (backwards) double room, it was great, if you want you can take your own stuff you have a little market there so you can prepare food and buy things,, (we prepared our sangria and tapas for ourselves and enjoyed at our balcony) because you have a kitchen, wine glasses, toaster, microwave, a big refrigerator, in general it's a suite kitchen so its huge!! (if you decide not to eat at the restaurant). You have the hotel poll, but we went directly to cafe del mar where you have the never-ending pool and the amenities so you can relax to watch the sunset enjoying chill out. People doesn't shout, as a matter of fact people is very relaxed over there, because it s a private and exclusive marina, you can also enjoy regattas and activities such as fishing tournaments, or you can just stay and relax at the Puerto Bahia Marina.
Cafe del Mar: the best place ever!!! be sure to arrive at 11 am so you can get a good spot fro tanning and enjoying the chill out ambiance, always good music, the food is excellent, strongly recommend "pulpo al grill" and the tenderloin is great too, as mojitos and strawberry daiquiris!
Breakfast is not recommendable to have at the Bannister, it;s aweful, Bread and coffee are terrible!! but you can take your own things with you and prepare a little breakfast at the room its easy and better.
It's not necessary to have the beach with sand to enjoy all the pleasures of a place and the experience of a chill out beach!!!
