Stayed for a week from 8th November knowing it would be hit and miss with the weather due to the time of the year. However after a tropical storm hit on Saturday morning it meant cancellations of the trips we had planned that meant going on the water. However there was still plenty of things to do in the hotel and if you want to just chill out and relax you can stay around the quiet pool, which for the week I was there remained quiet. There was an American Wedding party who made the most of the free alcohol, but they stayed down on the beach and other pool, which was fine.

The food was amazing, even the buffet was very impressive too which considering there are 3 impressive a la carte restaurants was a great suprise, especially as I had my doubts with what was to offer because of the price we paid.

The staff are very keen to please and make your stay an enjoyable one, but didn't pester you too much.

Outside of the resort it's a very poor area and if you go to Samana town to visit the small number of shops you will be pestered by the locals trying to take you on trips etc, just to try and make some money.

Overall the holiday and resort was very impressive, even though the weather did it's best to ruin that.

THERE IS ONLY ONE SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM: THE HOTEL SHOULD SAY IN THERE ADVERTISEMENT THAT THERE IS MUSIC ON THE PUBLIC BEACH FROM 10 PM TO 2 AM IF NOT RAINING ONLY AND CANCEL IT IF THERE IS RAIN.

Explanation of this statement: We spent one week at this luxury hotel thinking it would be calm but because of the rain and a big wedding occuring that week, many many people were complaning and changing their rooms because the management transfered the disco in the main building every time it would be raining but it rained almost every night so hard to sleep. Also, after every disco night, those people from that wedding would make noise coming back to their rooms at 2 o'clock in the morning.

This hotel is not suppose to be a party place and to please a few people, the management made hangry many people. I heard many people saying they would never go back because of that noise and it's to bad because it is a beautiful hotel with very nice employees.

So, MANAGEMENT, think about using my advice in my first paragraph of this review, it would help your hotel, a lot.

Where to start. We visited for two weeks from 24th October it was for our 30th anniversary too. We have travelled to many places around the world but as far as staff and service goes this hotel beats all others we have ever been to. The staff and management are brilliant and more than make you feel welcome, in fact you feel more like a friend. It is completely right what all other reviewers say. The entire staff can not do enough for you, and the manager was such a lovely approachable man. We were given a lovely room in the main building. The room was beautiful with a huge comfy king size four poster bed and sofa and chairs, on arrival we had a basket of fruit and desserts on the coffee table rose petals on the bed with 2 large swans made out of towels, and even bigger marbled bathroom with spa bath sitting waiting for you in the corner. Toiletries were replenished every day. Towels replenished twice daily if needed. The maid Dayray was such a joy, then there was a visit in the evening to turn down the bed (lovely little boxed chocs on pillow each night too) and replace any dirty towels. The immaculately kept gardens (great job gardeners) they were so amazing so tidy and a great pleasure just to stroll through looking at the beautiful plants. All of food lovely. The buffet always had something for everyone, with an amazing array of choice. Themed nights each evening so as well as usual foods they prepared speciality foods too from various countries. We had the most wonderful rock lobster and caviar. The waiting staff were all very attentive especially Arisdenni who made sure we were really well looked after on every visit. Cocktails so many if was great fun to try a different one each evening – still did not manage to get through the whole list! (Will try harder on our next visit). All other drinks premium as well as local were on offer from morning till late night. Throughout our stay we had members of management staff approach us to make sure everything was perfect. It truly was great service. We were so sad to leave eventually which is unusual for us as we are usually ready after two weeks to go back home. A special thanks also to Estephan and Jonathan for making us laugh and play games on the beach. All at Levantado made our trip one we will never ever forget. We shall certainly return at some future time. Thanks Gran Bahia Cayo Levantado for a truly special holiday. Once again a great big thank you to all the staff who made our stay so wonderful.

Well where to start the little island touch feels so special the hotel is first class the food is not repetitive only if you make it there's so much verity on show and it tasts just great.....5/5 entertainment and th crew work really hard good fun and put so much effort in to what they do well worth every penny.....5/5 rooms big really big clean drink in your fridge all the time and the cleaners are very good every day.....5/5 island from when you wake up breakfast very good snacks all the time dinner very good service .....5/5

The hotel and staff hotel the best on I've ever stayed at very friendly make you feel wanted with every thing I've said seen and done with the Bacardi beach open till 2 or 3 am sometime 5/5 that makes it the best holiday I've ever had butttttttt one down fall is I have to wait till next year to go back and I'm counting down the days over all full marks thank you Lexus :-))))
