We stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe Premier resort. We got a great room over looking the pool and we had not even specified such a request. We arrived at hotel around 3:00 and the room was not ready but by 4;00 we were settled in. The people were friendly but we did have a hard time communicating sometimes be it at the front desk or at restaurants. I speak english and french fluently but lots of workers seem to only speak and understand spanish. The resort is huge but they have trains to take you around. I walked most of the time and it was almost as quick as the train service. The only thing that i really did not like was the people wandering the site or by the pool constantly asking you to buy stuff or go on excursions. If I said no Monday then it's the same for Tuesday, Wednesday etc... If i chnage my mind I will go see you. I dont quite understand why we have to rent a safe either I have been to Cuba and been to Punta Cana before and i never had to pay for this service. Drinks were good and pools were very clean. Some of the Animations group stuff was a bit worn. Needed a bigger variety of music by the pool the same saongs kept playing over and over but i guess thats no different from a radio station. The room was cleaned daily and mini bar was replenished as well.
