“Nice people and good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We just recently stayed there. We loved the breakfast and lunch buffet at Naos restaurant.
People were nice and friendly. One of the staff at the beach site; got his name Juan Medrano, was really helpful and service was excellent. We were lying down on the beach's bed and all of the sudden he came and asked if we needed anything to drink.
We really had a great time!

I am an experienced traveler of high quality resorts and hotels in US and Internationally and the Paradisus Palma Real is the best all inclusive property I have ever experienced. The property is stunning from the minute you step out of taxi which includes a stunning view of the beach and fountains in the courtyard. As a Royal Service member you are taken to a private check in area with views of the pools and property. Food & beverage are immediately available to you as you check in and you are immediately made to feel welcome and you know that you made the right choice. We were introduced to Johnfi Rivera as our butler. He was just amazing. Gave tour of property, took care of scheduling all our dinners (worth it), spa appointments, golf reservations as well as any help you can think of. Just done. Take all the hassle out for you as you are ocean side enjoying the sun while Johnfi is making reservations. All the staff there was amazing so friendly and responsive. Best I have ever experienced. Also a big shout out to Pedro who made sure we were set up at the beach every mourning with a ocean front hut, and beach chairs. Birthday surprise with balloons on chairs and hut with Champagne on ice and most importantly a smile, and vibrant welcome. Truly contagious personalty. I would recommend tipping as it is much appreciated. It just takes a dollar or two. Bring a bunch of ones to tip or have Johnfi get change for you. Just an example that the Royal Experience covers everything. Food was best I had at all inclusive. Sushi at lunch was amazing in regular dining area. Royal Service also includes private lunch access at Perlazzo which is away from hustle and bustle of main resort.. Golf course is very good we played in 3 1/2 hours. Make sure you do not lose paper the Butler Service provides. The cart does cost $75 and green fees are free at this private course across from property. Entertainment is great. Can't imagine finding a better all inclusive and truly fantastic staff. The beach is beautiful but does have some seaweed which is cleaned up every day.

First time traveling out of the country and it was a pretty good experience. You get bracelets as soon as you check in to indicate you are part of the resort. Dont wander too far, theyll pick you up in golf carts and bring you back. Lol All of the bartenders are enthusiastic and knowing a little bit of spanish will help you as soon as you get off the plane. Rooms were a bit musty but thats just because of the humidity. You can order room service at any time and the drinks are made very strong. Hot water didnt work in our room but that time of year it didnt really matter. Make sure you do your currency exchange at the airport because the taxi drivers expect payment immediately... Pools were very clean. Rooms were clean.
Only downside to these resorts are the people on the beaches that try to hustle you. Drugs, resort activities, jewelry, you name it, it was being pushed. You just have to give a confident NO and they will walk away. I would recommend this resort and I wish we had stayed another day (we only stayed 4 days/3 nights) to maybe do some shopping in the area.

Our family was fortunate enough to share a multiple birthday vacation at this phenomenal resort. I can't say enough about our butler, Johnfi Rivera. He was the most professional attentive person. Always smiling and made multiple surprises possible for us. We also were fortunate enough to have Pedro who always had our beach spot ready each morning with a big smile. Always happy! Being with my family at this gorgeous resort with the most amazing guys, Johnfi and Pedro, has been one of the happiest vacations of my life (and I've been fortunate enough to travel the world). Thank you employees at the Paradisus and mostly to Johnfi and Pedro. We'll be back!!

There is a lot to add that was great about this resort. The property is terrific and the beach / pools were great, tons of food choices, high end spirits / extensive wine list, 7 Michelin star restaurant, nice golf club across the street, and a great spa. However, the people and the service were the true stars! We travel extensively, including Ritz Carlton in Miami, Omni in Amelia Island, Broadmoore in CO, just to name a few 5 star places this year. The Royal service and staff at Paradisus were on par with the best. What strikes you more than anything is how upbeat and happy the entire staff are. The management clearly hires the right people, takes care of their staff (pedro has been with the company for 20+ yrs!) and has an excellent training program. The bartenders could work in a busy high end bar in NY, waiters are fast friendly and on the go, and the management truly took care in our overall experience.

Again a special thanks to Johnfi (our conceirge butler) and Pedro (beach attendant) for all the care and service. We will see you next year, thank you

The resort and staff are great, with beautiful rooms, beaches, and great restaurant options (we had their VIP plan)

Con: We were ENCOURAGE to tip $5-$10 for room service, restaurant wait staff, and bartenders. If you did not tip, the service dropped significantly. Club Melia also strongly encouraged us to listen to a 90 minute sales pitch on their club program. In addition, the restaurant reservation process was cumbersome, needing long windows of time and 2 restaurant options, with the confirmation system coming in at the last minute and sometimes incorrect.

This is an All inclusive resort that rivals the best in the world.
There are three key elements to the fantastic vacation we enjoyed so much at the Melia Paradisius Palma Real.
Firstly the staff. Having travelled the world I can honestly say the Dominican people excel in providing the most hospitable service ever. Not only are they happy in their work, but they all go that extra mile to make your stay a real experience.I often only have praise for one or two individuals who have provided an excellent service however at the end of my review I will show the names of many of those amazing staff that looked after us in an exceptional way.
Secondly the resort. The whole of the resort is beautifully kept both inside and the gardens and beach areas outside . Not only is it spotless but the facilities are so diverse and of such high quality that you could eat at a different restaurant and have a drink at a different bar each night for week and still not get to taste all that the resort offers. The main entrance is truly impressive and you could do no worse than spend a half day just orienteering, finding out where everything is and planning your stay.
The third key reason why I enjoyed this hotel was the Food and Beverage. It has to be one of the best stocked bar systems I have seen in any resort, with international brands of spirits, first class house wines including French sparkling wines, they even have a coffee bar where you can pick up expresso, cappuccino even an iced latte. The food is truly amazing, the main buffet restaurant caters for every taste and diet, with the ability to have several cuts of meat and fish cooked to order before your very eyes. There are several themed al a carte restaurants, covering Italian,Mexican, Seafood, Grilled, Japanese etc which provide a first class meal as part of the All Inclusive package.
We treated ourselves to the Royal Service which has a few extra refinements such as a reserved part of the fantastic Beach, access to its own fantastic restaurant called Palazzo and the attendance of a Butler. That may seem a bit daunting for some, but the best way to describe the butler service is that you have a key contact ( you are given a cell phone to contact them at any time) that will arrange as much or as little as you wish. They are not mind readers, so the best plan of action is to decide what you would like to do, restaurants you would like to eat in, if there is anything special you would like in your room, then ask him and he will arrange it for you. This is a great service if you use it effectively. The room had a well stocked mini bar, replenished daily along with a half bottle of rum, whisky and Vodka, should you find it a struggle to walk along to a bar for a pre dinner drink.
Top Tips
On the first half day, take a walk around the resort, look at the menus and plan where you want to eat ( For al a carte restaurants you will need to book 24 hours in advance). Have a look around the Spa etc.
If you choose the Royal Service, engage early with your Butler, he is not a mind reader, so let him know your likes dislikes, do you want wine and chocolates in your room, some canapés? Think about what you would like and he will make it happen ( he will even press a garment or two for you each day)
Take a good reserve of small dollar bills. Because of the exceptional service you will find you are pleased to tip one or two dollars to very attentive staff.
Pace yourself, you will not be able to do everything, eat at each restaurant ( especially as you can also eat at the reserve just down the road ) or drink in every bar within a week ( if you manage it hats off to you) So choose your options and plan to return>

Overall we had a wonderful vacation here, i would say one of the top two resorts we have ever stayed in, we will definitely return, especially to say Hi to the following outstanding staff members;
Pedro and Francisco on the Beach, Leonard in the beach Bar,Stephanie Auguste, Miguel, Franklin and Osvaldo all in the Palazzo; Elisabeth Ramon and Esteban Sobet in the Mole restaurant/ Omar our Butler and of course the general manager Ada who presides over a magnificent collection of well trained and attentive staff.
