19 of us just got back on July 14 from a one week stay and I must say it has been by far our best vacation yet. When traveling with 19 people ranging in age from 14 to 48 a lot of consideration must be taken when choosing a resort. This place had it all and you didn't have to shuttle to get anywhere. The night entertainment was great with the outdoor patio playing live jazz music, the sheltered theatre with lounge like chairs (not the plastic patio ones), the casino and disco within walking distance and the favourite lobby bar where you can find Murphy the bartender doing his magic trick where he makes a glass of beer disappear - too funny. The main buffet restaurant is air conditioned with plenty to choose from. Most importantly are the 5 A La Cart restaurants where reservation are NOT required in 4 of them. AND the men didn't have to wear long pants (mind you if you want reservations at the Gourmet Restaurant you need to dress for it so it's safe that you bring a pair just in case...). In the day you will find Edwin and Jesus just to name a couple at the pool entertaining you and making you laugh. They certainly have a way of making you feel like you're the only one that's important to them.
And there was no problem with the language - a lot of them spoke English well.

Now this certainly wouldn't be a review if I didn't share the down side. Like most resorts clean towels consistently at the same time every day was a bit of a struggle but is this the deciding factor when choosing a resort anyway? As well, racing to the pool every morning to secure a spot in the shade was a challenge. However, I'm sure there were plenty of spots but just not in the area we favoured. The washroom in your room in open concept. The only privacy would be the toilet stall and of course your shower stall which could fit up to 4 people if you desired. However the jacuzzi is great and fits 2 people easily. The beds were hard but strangely enough I never woke up during the night nor did I hear my husband snore so they must have been comfortable.

Beautiful Resort,rooms excellent ,staff did an amazing job specially YANESSA at the piano Bar,Each time we were passing by they always smile at you and salute you by saying " HOLA,we have wonderfull time at the Majestic Colonial,The building and green area well maintained.Excellent customer service at front desk , they welcome us with the Majestic drink nice detail, for us 1st time in Punta Cana , we expend 4 /3nights all inclusive package , good deal.We will like to come back.

My boyfriend and I just got back from a week stay at the Majestic Colonial.... definitely worth staying at....Overall we really enjoyed the Dominican Republic and the Majestic Colonial....we look forward to returning next year..


Let me beging with the first day.....it took us about 30 min to reach the hotel from the Punta Cana airport.... the van picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel---- good service! However, when we first got there the room was not ready for about 45 min..... that started us off on the wrong foot.....next to that --the entire trip was next to perfect........

Overall the rooms are very nice---very clean! We stayed in room 3244...great location!! the balcony had a great view... they kept the fridge stocked with waters and sosa and Presidente beer...the guy who stocked it was VERY VERy friendly....

There were bars everywhere...service was great vy all the bar tenders......... Make sure to get to know Denny--if you don't..don't worry because he will go out of his way to get to kmnow you....and make sure that your drinks are taken care of at the beach....We really loved Denny from the Beach Consiege.....he's one reason alone to camp out all day at the beach....he kept the drinks coming constantly on the beach..He was polite and funny and always had a bottle of water for us...Thanks Denny!! We also took a liking to Daniel in the front lobby...his drinks are amazing....we barely stayed at the pool because the beach was that breathtaking/ comfortable...... the water was chrystal clean....Weather was sunny skies the entire week! Make sure to make reservations for the french restaurant and the Japanese....the Japanese was by far the best food we got the entire week....it is worth getting up for breakfast---the buffets got REALLY old for lunch--- get your beach towels in the morning...... when you return in the afternoon they do run out of towels...same foods everyday... the shows got corny--but the michael Jackson show was worth checking out........

Downside.... the rooms took forever to get cleaned and we had to keep calling the front desk for fresh towels...the buffets got very old---aka the food got blahh... the jacuzzi was only set up for us one day out of the whole week..... oh, and the gym definitely needs to be upgraded...not many machines and all were outdated---we were able to sneak to the Magestic Elegance one day....but when we tried on other days we were not able to get past the security guard...

Overall great trip and we look forward to returning!! Thanks to everyone who made our trip extremely relaxing and enjoyable!

The surrounding is very plesant. The best place was the beach bar.The bartenders Milciades also known as Mike Pappy Shampoo and Omar Gasolina were very friendly and the best. They make me laugh so much and make my vacation more fun.They also went out of their way to make my stay as nice as possible. I give them 5 stars.
