“Majestic Colonial - Club Colonial - Simply the best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 days ago NEW

Hi to all,

It was my second stay at this resort (last one was in 2011) At that time Colonial club did not exists.

Let's start
Grounds: Evcerything is in perfect shape gardiners are working aday after day to make this resort look perfect. Everything is clean and this resort is so easy to get around (because there's a lot of indications almost impossible to get lost).

Rooms: We were staying at the Colonial Club (room 3125) witch is pretty centered in the resort only a couples of minutes walk to the beach and at night the same distance to go at the restaurants or at the buffet. Room was perfect when we arrived we made our check in in the Colonial Club private lounge (check in was pretty fast). From lobby to room maybe 2-3 minute walk. As we where going to our room the "major d'homme " was explainning the ground (bar, pool etc). AC was perfect did not touch for the entire week. House keeping was brilliant during our stay (Marythsa).

Food: We did 4 a la carte restaurant during our stay at the resort.
Le Gournet: Restaurant as AC, We did go twice, Food excellent, service super ( Thanks to Rosemary) who was so nice for us during the whole week. Every litle detail were handled delicately and rapidly.
Taino:Reataurant as AC, Food was good, service was great, plates are huge (don't go to much at the little ffet or you're going lo leave food in your plate).
Grill: Open air restaurant facing the beach, food and service are really great and there's alway a nice breeze from the sea so it not to hot to go eat there.

Pool: There area is always cleaned ans well maintained, animation is great also.

Beach: We were at the private beach section (Colonial Club). At the time we were there a lot of sea weeds was comming eveyday, but a t he Majestic it was the only part of the beach where NO weeds was left on it (not only the Colonoal section but the entire Majestic Beach), also everything was cleanned before 9h30. A lot of chairs are available for everyone, even on late arival (one day we arrived at the beach at 1h45 and there was still free chairs with palapas. Service at the beach was si superb ( thanks to Maria and Juan Alfredo ) They always served us with their beautiful smile and the sunshine in their faces. (thnaks for the great moments).

Colonial Club: This section adult only is really great and it's worth every penny spend on it. Your reservation are made by your butler and they always ask you if everything is OK (Thanks Wener for all your concerns towards us). you also have a private lounge with always something to drink and eat.

Animation: I've done a lot a resort in the carabean and Majestic is one of the best. Each night is a special night and the animation crew have a sopecial twist to make you participate even if your not feeling to it. They made me danced and had so much fun it was really good.

Overall it was a second great experience and will return someday for sure.

We stayed at this resort 12/10-12/19 and very much enjoyed our stay except for the food. The resort is beautiful and the staff are top notch, but the food is simply not good. Of the eight days we were there, Our room was nice and spacious. We were in the adults only section and really enjoyed the low key vacationing that it provided. The beach was nice with white beautiful sand and the water in the ocean was warmer than the pool water. We didn't use our butler, but about three times a day our phone would ring or someone would knock on the door for various reasons. I would recommend this resort for couples or families as it looked like there was a lot of things for kids to do as well.

Room Tip: The adults only swim up room in the Colonial Club is an excellent choice. Our room was right across...

My husband and I visited the Majestic Colonial from Dec 6 to 13th for a friend's wedding. We upgraded to an ocean view room, worth every penny. We were on the 2nd floor of the villa and had an amazing view of the ocean and beach. We had not visited Punta Cana in a few years but enjoyed our stay. The staff at the resort could not have been more helpful, shout out to Jerry for always greeting us daily at the buffet. The food at the buffet was very good, lots to choose from and always fresh. Our favourite was the pasta and egg bars. The Mexican a la carte was our favourite restaurant we actually went two times during our stay. Our room was spacious, clean and beautiful. The maids did a nice job with the flowers and the towel art. Lots of daily activities at the beach and at the lobby. The only negative was the vendors who came in one night, they were very pushy and when I didn't buy from him told me I had wasted his time..... Needless to say he lost a sale after that comment. Overall, nice December get away and we enjoyed the wedding. We did not upgrade to colonial club and after talking to some people realized there wasn't much of a difference for an additional $600.00 dollars. Christmas decorations were up, we attended a tree lighting ceremony. We ended up taking a cab arranged by the resort to the airport instead of waiting for the bus cost $40 U.S. 20 minute ride without stopping at several resorts to pick up people. Overall good vacation.

Room Tip: Ocean view is worth the extra money were in 2254, quiet at night close to the Ocean and away from th...

This is our 2nd time this year & we were more than satisfied. The food could be better but the bartenders more than made up for our vacation. The welcome back we were given was well worth the repeat visit. Our favorite bartenders were Marcos(boomchacalaka) & ramon (pool bartender)They made our vacation (they were awesome) so wonderful that we would come back just to see them again!!! We couldn't ask for better service and we thank you for that!

This was a very nice resort... The staff were very friendly and were pretty good at communicating with the visitors.

Every day, there was a big schedule of the events going on that day. Each night, there was some sort of a fun event happening.

It was very clean - we hardly ever saw a cup or napkin lying anywhere in the resort. Housekeeping was good in our room, but sometimes they would be coming really late in the day (when we were back in our room getting ready before supper).

The pool was huge and spanned from one end of the resort to the other. Sometimes, depending on the day, it was hard to find seats together, though.

Nice beach area and a great restaurant/grill house closer to the ocean end of the resort. Again, unless you're there early enough it's hard to find a good spot to sit.

Food was decent. I found I was going back to the same couple places to eat more often than others. Some of the restaurants need reservations - get there early to make them in the morning! Some of the buffets weren't super warm... They had enough of a selection and some good "American-ized" food as well for those who aren't very adventurous like me. My favourite was the Grill by the ocean... Hot food all the time - they grill your burger right in front of you!

They had some little shops on the resort, so you didn't need to leave in order to do some souvenir shopping. There was also a doctor on the resort, so that if there were any medical issues you could go there - we didn't have to see the doctor, though, so not sure of expense, etc.

Felt safe on the resort and would visit again!

Room Tip: All rooms have a patio... Some of them are facing the inside of the resort (pool), some are facing t...

My fiancee and I, along with a group of friends, recently travelled to the Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana. We were there from December 13th to the 20th. The resort itself is well appointed and the grounds are generally well taken care of. The rooms were all spacious, had free wifi, flat screen tv, waterfall shower, etc. However, the rooms did show some wear and were clearly fixed in a rush (very shoddy work).

Although we did receive fresh towels daily, the maids would constantly forget little things like smaller face towels and the bar wasn’t restocked as often as we would have liked.

The staff are generally friendly but the expectation of tips has tarnished their perception of what good service is. We found that the staff was very slow with requests – only tipping would help pick up the pace. Getting a drink at the bar would take anywhere from 10 – 20min on some occasions and our a la carte dinner went on for 2.5 hours!

We had all decided to upgrade to the “club package” which gave us access to “premium” liquor, a private pool, a private lounge and the concierge service. Although it was nice being in a kids-free area, the upgrade didn’t really feel all that worth it. The liquor was no different than what the other guests had access to and the private pool area was being occupied by non-club members.

The food wasn’t the greatest and by the last few days we were all sick and tired of it. We all had bad stomach reactions to the food.

Overall, the resort was average and there wasn’t much to really make me want to come back. I wouldn’t rate this hotel at any more than 3 stars.

Pros:
1. Free wifi
2. Good breakfast
3. Nice beach – if you don’t mind some seaweed floating around here and there
4. Karaoke night was fun

Cons:
1. Unpredictable weather
2. The a la carte restaurants were all bad. Food was salty and bland.
3. Games are limited to the times the resort sets. So if you want to play volleyball, you can’t simply go borrow a volleyball, you have to wait until they have it scheduled. It took a few attempts just to get our hands on a bacci ball set.
4. Slow staff – they only move faster when you incentivize with money.
5. Music in the disco was very repetitive – get a new dj or have him look up new music!
6. Food didn’t sit very well – this was a problem among the whole group
7. People constantly trying to sell things on the beach
8. The sales people at the weekly market are very pushy and annoying. I generally don’t like being grabbed to come look at something I have zero interest in.

Colonial Club is the way to go!! The amenities for the 'upgrade' are worth the money. Language barrier was the biggest problem. Seaweed at the beach was the biggest disappointment. Crew was good in removing it. Butler was a plus...whatever you want, ask your butler...whether it is a special beer or a scented pillow. Food was above average with plenty of choices. Zip-line excursion was fun.
