After 2weeks all inclusive we were glad to get back to normal eating/drinking habits! This place is great....end of review. Remember these reviews are peoples own opinions of resort/staff,my advice is ignore ALL reviews (especially this one!) and go create your own views/memorys. In short if you can't relax and enjoy this place, check your pulse the chances are you're already dead!
Note to Mark...Wigan to be relegated!!!!

Hello everyone. My husband my 2 daughters (15 and 8) and I vacationed at dreams June 21-28th. This was the 1st Caribbean vacation for my 8 year old and 2nd for my 15 year old. I read reviews religiously online before the trip- good and bad (but mostly good) still I was ready for anything; well here it goes – arriving at the airport in Punta Cana was great- super simple- go through the gate, pay your $10 per person , gather you luggage and your off to your bus: the guys that help with your luggage are great, they know exactly where they are going, you tell them your tour operator and hotel, and they take you straight to your bus – give them a couple bucks and everyone is happy.( diffidently recommend grabbing one of these guys to help!) the ride to the hotel was fine, about one hour, not nearly as bad as reviews say- I actually enjoyed it and so did my kids. Once we arrived at dreams we were given a cold towel, which was very welcoming. We checked in with no problems except for our rooms weren’t ready (that was a little inconvenient because we all were very ancous to get in the room and relax from our long plane ride) but we ended up grabbing a bite to eat and we took a look around wile they finished. Our luggage was in our room when we arrived back to it-no worries. The grounds were beautiful- very well kept! The workers are constantly doing something to make things more beautiful. The pool is beyond beautiful- very clean, very well kept. We spent most of our days by the pool- pool floats are very hard to find, I would recommend going to the dollar store and buying a cheep raft to bring with you and just leave it there at the end of your trip. We had so much fun with the pool games at the middle pool area; my 15 year old daughter really loved them and got us all involved. The staff was wonderful, JayZ and TuPac were so much fun and made you so relaxed they made you feel like you were best friends and you knew them all your life. If you don’t want to play, they will not hound you, but if you do, you will really have a lot of fun!! My older daughter also really loved the core zone, she would go and see what was going on all the time, I was never nervous about letting her go by herself; I felt it was very safe. (And I am a little overbearing about safety) I was very comfortable with that. My younger daughter loved the Explorers Club, I cant say enough about this; before we went I wasn’t sure about leaving her with people I don’t know and ever she doesn’t like being away from me – but – oh my goodness- it is so organized and supervised that the first full day she was there all day and the next as well, we were finally saying to her “how about staying with us today?”. She had so much fun. When we dropped her off we got a pager and when she was ready to come back they would call us and we would go pick her up. These woman that were with the kids are great ! I highly recommend this club!
Onto our room- we had a first floor adjoining room in building 8. It was awesome- the maid service was great. Our room was always clean and if you need anything they are so quick to accommodate you! We had some ants by the coffee maker but nothing to complain about. The robe in the room was a nice touch, so if you don’t get on ask and they will get you one right away. They give you a newsletter every night for what’s going on the next day- it is really helpful to plan you day!
About the venders at the resort, they are not that bad, you just say no thank you- I found the vender on the beach under the boat was really great-check it out!
I do want to talk about calling home- regular calling cards or international calling cards are really hard to use- I could get mine to work. We ended up using our cell phone – because it works there, which I would not have thought. You are roaming, so you pay about $1.50-$2.00 per minute, but it is the easiest way to call home!
The food was excellent, every restaurant that we went to was great, not so much for my 8 year old to eat but she always found something. The barefoot grill was great for lunch. We didn’t have to wait for a table at any of the restaurants, no reservations made it really easy to eat at your convenience!
My husband took the girls on a horseback riding trip- we booked through our GO GO representative rather then the guys walking around the resort. They had a great time and the horses were very well behaved. Be sure to bring medicine for belly aches, we didn’t have any problems but people we met had a couple problems. (Don’t drink the water). Also be sure to take a lot of 1’s and 5’s for tipping, the staff, bartenders, food workers, maids and all the workers really appreciate anything that you give them, its always “ Their Pleasure” to do whatever makes you happy!
All in all our whole trip was fantastic. And my kids are already planning our trip back for next year. We will diffidently return here to dreams and recommend it to all our friends!
P.S. If the weather is rainy- don’t worry it always seemed to clear up and be beautiful weather by 12:00.

By far the best hotel we have ever stayed in.
Yeah the transfer is abit of a nightmare after such a long flight, but is defiantly worth the hour drive on uneven roads.
Upon pulling up to the hotel through the gates it looks spectacularly.
Check in ran smoothly and we were escorted to our room by the bell room.
We were lucky enough to have a ground floor room with massive four poster bed, large tv and dvd player, air con and an ipod docking station. Our patio doors opened up on a small patio area with table, chairs and a hammock, next was a step down to a grassy area with two sunbeds and straight access in to the large freeform pool.
The pool and the surrounding area are well maintained and very clean, the large meandering pool has a swim up bar to one end with an active area and plenty of floating beds, you wont have trouble finding sunbeds here!!|!
The beach is lovely, sand lovely and soft with plenty of non motorised watersports available, aswel as water trampoline.
We took the option of having a romantic meal on the beach as it was my birthday while we were staying here, this wasn’t part of the all inclusive but defiantly worth the splurge!!
The games zone is brilliant at keeps kids and big kids entertained alike, with an xbox, wii and playstation console. It also has plenty of pool tables, table tennis, tennis courts, rocking bull, archery and plenty more.
The restaurants have lots of choice and the food was always pippin hot, the buffet restaurant is just as good as the ala cart ones. The 6 ala cart restaurants have set menus that you choose from, all with plenty of choice. Our favourite was the French one. You can visit these restaurants as many times as you like and you don’t need to book in advance.
Drinks flow plenty with lots of choice, all international brands of sprits included, and room service is included in the all inclusive.
The entertainment in the evening is spectacular the shows that are put on by the entertainment team, you can see that they work very hard putting the shows together.
There is always something to do during the day in the form of daytime activities from bingo, to waterpolo.
We will defiantly be visiting this hotel again!!!!

Well,I went there from the 7th to the 10th of july. As soon as you get to the airport in DR they make you pay for a turist card $10 dollars. The agency that I got was VIP-TRAVEL IMPRESSIONS,and they placed us in a van shuttle for a 45-50 minute ride to the Resort. Upon arrival the Resort appeared very clean, nice, and staff very courteous specially WANDEL at the reception counter. Our first assigned room was on the 2nd bldg and on the 1st floor. It was very smelly, humidity, mold, smoked in,and not as pictures show on their website. After notifiying Wandel about problem he was able to acomodate us for an extra $60 dollars a day in a preferred club suite which had a private balcony and jacuzzy with ocean views(room 1306).The suite was not that much better than the 1st one but the private balcony with jacuzzy made it seem better. The ac worked like crap but I really wanted to make the best of it so I did not complain anymore. The food was great, weather it was buffet or restaurant. No appointments needed for restaurants. Also beware you have dress codes for the french and chinese restaurant!! I was sat down in the french restaurant and after drinks came I was told I could not be there with shorts,RUDE.After changing and returning to restaurant I observed someone eating wearing shorts and nothing was said,RUDE.The pizzeria, which is in the main buffet restaurant is great!!!! They make you a fresh delicious pizza within minutes and you will be coming back for more!!! I did not like the warm water of the pool, but swimup bar was nice.I was told that other corner of pool is with cooler water but I missed that. The beach was ok but I was expecting nice ocean water like Cozumel but you are not getting that. I was in puerto plata before and ocean was dirty, not clear, just like Punta Cana's.The vip reps were ok. The foto session with Juan Pablo was great but a bit expensive,$10 dollars a picture!! The nite club was nice but I noticed the bartender would cater to the people who would give him tips. The musical and dance show were nice too. The kids club looked very nice as it had a huge pirate ship with slides that lead to their own pool and heared from people that left kids there that the program was very good too. The $75 dollar a person speed boat-snorkell trip we went on was ok,but I am disssapointed that no food was given to us at all. From 1:10pm till 7pm with no food but only a drink of soda on the main boat. That suked!! Check out was quick with no problems. Phone calls to the USA are very expensive from DR so plan ahead!! Overall the resort was ok,and I will not return due to the Beach and the outdated suites. The spa was also good.My wife and I got a 50 min massage(40min)they shorted me 10mins for $50 each. The king size bed was very hard!! Woke up with bad backache!! The ceiling fan rattled allways.Hallways were quiet, resort seem empty even though they said it was 80 percent full. They also have private dining at the beach(romantic) for $130-$150 dollars!! Thats all folks!!!

Jul 11, 2009 | Trip type: Family New

We are a family of 26 people ranging from a 6 month old baby to a 69 year old and all of us enjoyed what was offered and what we wanted to do. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary and a birthday as well as the 4th of July and have no complaints. Our accommodations were adequate, the food was varied and good and there was always something to do no matter what age group you were in.

The food offered at the restaurants was excellent. We enjoyed all of them. The Bordeaux was elegant and high class dinning. We liked the views from the dinning room, making it relaxing. The waitstaff was professional and attentive. The food was superb.

We had a long wait to get into the Japanese restaurant but those of us who made it loved it. The sushi was excellent as well as the whole meal. If you choose to go I'd suggest you get there an hour before the sitting as there are only 3 tables of 10 and they fill up right away. There are only 3 sittings, 6, 7:30, and 9. We went at 6:15 for the 7:30 and couldn't be seated so we waited for the 9, it was worth it.

The Asian fare was just as good and we all loved it. The Mexican, El Patio was really family friendly and the food was very good. The waitstaff went out of their way to take care of the little ones in our group.

I can go on and on about all the restaurants and believe me, we tried them all and always came out very satisfied regardless of your choice of sea food or grand buffet.

We celebrated 4th of July at Dreams and felt affirmed as an American because they had the greatest 4th party ever from a decorative parade to a circus, a beach bar b-q to a good fire works show. They spared nothing to make this a truly American event.

Our group had many teenagers and we didn't see them too often as they were always doing something at the Core club that offered many activities for their age group. The Explorer's club was fun for our 5 and 7 year old. The staff was professional and happy.

There are so many chaise lounges, chairs and beach beds around the pool so there was never a problem getting comfortable. The grill was going every afternoon and if you didn't want to go to a restaurant you could be fed poolside and there was an ice cream machine offered as well. Walking down to the beach was a fruit stand where they cut up all kinds of fresh fruits for you to enjoy and enjoy we did, nice touch!

The beach always had a nice breeze and the water was clean but a little murky. There is some coral rocks here and there so care must be taken. Wear water shoes if you can. Those of us who had them had no trouble. The water sports were a big hit with our family especially the kayak rides. Don't miss out on this great sport.

Arriving after the hour ride from the airport was tiring but we expected it as we were warned about the distance. We were greeted with cool towels and a drink and that took the edge off. Once we got situated in our rooms, and that was a hassle, whereas we were so many, we couldn't wait to get into the pool. It was all worth it.

My biggest complaint was the vendors that are allowed to set their wares up around the hotel. They are sneaky and took advantage of our teenagers. We weren't the only ones complaining as you couldn't walk out side without them hounding you for sales.

Take a lot of sunblock, medicine, candy and gum as they are very expensive in the lobby store. My granddaughter was charged $5.00 for an average toothbrush. Don't forget any of these things.

All in all, our whole family had an unforgettable, wonderful vacation with little to complain about but a lot to brag about.
