“First time in Punta Cana”

My family and I spent 7 days and 6 nights at the all inclusive hotel Royalton of Punta Cana. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was different but we enjoyed it. The employees were awesome the entire time. I never came across an employee that was rude. There is a language barrier but that's to be expected. However, learning Spanish is easy if you pay attention to conversation. We did the boogie ride and zip lining excursions. Both were absolutely FUN! Climbing the hills to go zip lining was tiring & exhilirating. The resort has something for everybody from ages 1-101. There were a few things that I didn't like. The sink in the hotel room is nice but it sits in an awkward position which causes water to go everywhere & I was constantly wiping up water. OMG I missed having elevators (that's me being spoiled). I wish the adult pool had longer hours. All pools are open from 7a-7p unless you have a pool side room and with that type of room your back door has steps that leads you directly into he pool. The Memories Hotel is part of Royalton too and they have a water park for Adults and children and there are lifeguards at the water park. We enjoyed the water park & it's open from 9a-5p. Theres a market next door which was nice. Do not go to the Bella Mare if you want to shop or unless you want to go to a small cigar shop. I felt that was a waist of our time. Overall I give my Punta Cana experience an 8 out of 10.

The following people made our travel experience wonderful; Yan Carlos at the front desk, Ruben, a bar waiter over by the volleyball court bar, Luis, the recreation/ entertainer of the crowd with his zumba, aerobics, and bachata lessons, Wanda also at the bar area by the pool, Marcia and Oscar at the store, Dairby the other recreation/entertainment specialist, the bartender Danny over by the volleyball court bar. The entire staff at the Manche Buffet from cooks to servers to bus boys, Over at the Italian Restaurant the waiters were superb. OH and Cava Restaurant, although tiny was great... Densy our waiter was the best! Various other people with their warm dominican smiles made our stay so great, too!
Stay away from the Under The Sea Restaurant, we waited over 2hr for service

My wife and I just returned from Royalton Punts Cana. This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic. Our stay was just wonderful. The natural beauty here is breathtaking. Our room was very accessible to the beach, pool, and restaurants. I must say the service here was impeccable. Angel and Danilo went well above normal service expectations. After 6 days and nights at the Royalton, we felt rested and refreshed & did not want to leave. We will be back. Thanks to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable.

I booked a family trip to celebrate three major events in my family this year. There was a total of 9 people reserved in 4 rooms all Diamond Club. The beginning did not start off great as the hotel had my reservation wrong. (I strongly encourage you take a couple copies of your confirmation with full detail of what you booked). For anyone that wants to blame me for the mishap, let me explain I booked through Vacation Express back in January. I reviewed all my information several times and emailed the hotel directly three times before we arrived. Most important thing this is not my first rodeo, we travel two to three times a year for the past 20 years. After about an hour it got worked out, I truly feel if I did not have my documents in order with me, they would try to stick to what they had recorded. The workers try hard but I am sorry to say the ability to problem solve and think one thought that was not placed in the training pamphlet they are completely lost. Because of this issue I don't believe they can acquire a five star rating. If you plan to come be prepared for this issue.
Overall view of the property is very nice resort. The food is good, not great and not horrible. The bar and food service team work really hard to make sure you are enjoying your visit. The nightly entertainment is pretty bad, the best night was the beach party. The room was clean and the maid service was great. Our butler was Jesus and he was a wonderful person and works very hard to please you. He made sure we had a special celebration dinner for my mother in law with a cake. I personally want to thank you again for all your help!! I would like to point out Aramis and Jose Miguel at the Diamond Club bar thank you for a wonderful week. I personal favorite was Danny at the beach bar the best mango drinks all week. Finally a special thank you to Franklin in building 6 for taking care of any room or TV issue, I really appreciated your service.(I just no desire to got through a vacation club presentation!) no hard feelings.

Royalton is a nice place to visit but needs some work with lobby staff.

First off we had a great time. The Royalton was beautiful, the service from all the employees was great. Jose Louis was our butler and he did a great job when we needed help. We booked to many excursions (our fault). Highly recommend the Sea Aquarium, loved it, the water is so blue! We also went to Sonora Island (Blue Lagoon was filmed there) it is breath taking. We were in the Diamond Club as well. Private section of the beach, private pool and bar. The food was good not great in some of the eateries. My favorite was breakfast, Hunters Steak House and Zen were our evening favorites. We were on our 10 year anniversary so when we arrived we had a banner across the door stating such and in the room were a couple of towels folded into swans with flower pedals arranged on the bed. On our last night our butler brought us a bottle of champagne. Will we go back? Yes next time we take the kids, :).
I gave it a good rating not so much about the hotel but the airport was hot and muggy when we arrived, you have to listen very closely unless you speak Spanish. Trash on the road sides from the airport to the entrance to the hotel.

Room Tip: Get the walk out room, they are awesome!

Great holiday right on the beach food was good only down side was the amount Puerto Rican people over crowding the bars, jumping in the pools with drinks and constantly shouting apart from that service was great during the day but hard to get a seat or a drink at night unless you could speak Spanish. Also there is a market on Thursday next to the pool we were asked to purchase drugs, constantly haggling you to buy jewellery. Overall punta cana and the people are lovely but wouldn't return to royalton

Look for Fernando Lopes on the beach at the Diamond Club. He is a wonderful example of hospitality. The people at this resort are refreshing. Carlito Monegro is the sweetest bartender and for the a wonderful waiter at the beach I recommend Eudes. He was there with a refill on refreshments without even having to ask. The resort is beautiful and the layout was such that you never felt overcrowded. We will go back to see all these beautiful people, country and resort.

Room Tip: Rooms are a bit small for a family of four. You might want to consider a suite.
