If you would like to go some where, where the people are friendly and the food is good and is laid back this is your place. it is very quiet and relaxing the staff speaks pretty good English and they are so helpful, we had so many of the staff help us with everything. We would like to thank the staff that helped us so here we go ynocencio (innocent) Mayra, red bull, Blondie, Jonathan, The manager at mariner buffet alenico and Melvin the pool bartender there were only a few kids there and were well behaved we would stay there again. We did all inclusive which is the way to go all the alcohol is all top shelf like grey goose vodka and you must go to the beach bar for lunch and have the fried fish platter WOW our room was over 800 sq ft really a one bedroom condo with a king size bed full kitchen living room and dining table and the bathroom has a full stand up shower plus a Jacuzzi tub and an enclosed toilet if you need anything go and see the concierge she will help you with anything from a free shuttle to go shopping to setting up a taxi service.

Originally we had booked our trip at Alsol Del Mar, it's sister hotel just 5 minutes away, but they had lost our reservation and could not accommodate us, so they sent us to Alsol Luxury Village and upgraded our room which was a nice perk. The hotel grounds were very strange, there are two pools on location which is nice, but towels go fast and they never replenish them throughout the day. The beach on the property is ten minute walk from the main area/room. The resort is surrounded by a village of shops that are not opened/under construction - you feel like you are walking through a "ghost town". when you get to the beach, it is extremely small and man made with limited sitting. I was extremely disappointed, plus the water was polluted with trash. The restaurants at the resort consist of one buffet and one Italian restaurant. We ended up eating at the Italian spot two nights in a row and ended up walking out one night because it took over an hour to get our dinner. The food at the buffet was gross. As for our room, it was very large and clean but we only received maid service on the second day including clean towels. By the second day we were tired of the overcrowded and extremely loud pool scene and the non-existent beach, that we ended up taking a taxi to Juanillo Beach which was 5 minutes away. The front desk manager was helpful when our flight was cancelled back to NYC due to weather and we needed to extend our stay at the resort a few extra days. The rates may be competitive, but I would suggest paying up to stay in a better spot.

I recently returned from a wonderful holday at Alsol Luxury Village with my two elderly parents. We were very warmly greeted by the manager Victoria on our arrival and were taken to a beautiful junior suite room which overlooked two pools, the marina, and had a huge lounge and even a jacuzzi. It is definately one of the best places that I have stayed in. The resort itself is very beautful and the staff are all lovely and could not do enough to help us. The bell boys were always smiley and helpful and took me and my parents around in the golf carts. We are vegetarian and the restaurant manager Julio Perez went out of his way to make special food whenever he could. On the last evening a special private meal was arranged for us by the marina. The entertainment was also very good. Francis was also great in provding pots ot tea for us at breakfast. Nubuk Ramos made us feel very welcome and is a great entertainer. We especially enjoyed the Bingo and the Kareoke evening, The conceirge Zalini is also very helpul and arranged taxi's to the other hotels for us. I would like to say a special thanks to all the staff for making this a dream vacation. A special huge thanks to Victoria, Zaleni, Nubak, Julio, Francis, Sandro, Carlos, Alex and all the staff there. Thank you Victoria for being such an approachable and friendly manager and arranging the delicious cake and balloons for my parent's anniversary, This was really appreciated and made us feel very welcome. I would love to return to Alsol Village again and would recommend this hotel to any one who is looking for a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful break.

escaped New Jersey winter to a best described 'interesting' hotel. AlSol is setup as 'all inclusive' which is not the kind of vacation we like but choose because of a very affordable basic room rate thru Amex.
Odd or 'interesting'. Architects pulled off a beautiful concept of a Mediterranean seaside village. Nice colorful streets, plenty of room for shops, a pretty little wedding chapel. Only problem is there is room for probably 50 shops, only 2 are open. EVERY other one is empty. Felt like a location for a movie ghost town - a pretty one but eerily empty
Pros:
Rooms are very nice (in my opinion far from the Ritz - if you want that go 5 miles down the road to Eden Roc), good sized bed and bedroom; nice bathroom with very good shower water pressure; ok towels. Nice living/kitchen area with fridge and electric oven.
We had a corner jr suite with a large deck looking west over the end of the marina and a large place that looked like construction and probably will be in the future. However, we probably had one of the few rooms where you could watch the sun set - a nice Bonus!
Pools/beach: Hotel has 2 very large pool areas, a very small one and a small beach. As a couple beyond 50 and without kids we spent an lot of very enjoyable hours at the pool that promised no 'activities', i.e. no Zumba, no kids activities, nothing but peace and quiet. That pool which was within 30 yards of our room was splendid. Enormous with very few people using it at anytime (typically 15-20). Had a bar and Vicente was very helpful, especially lighting my cigar since you can't matches anywhere.
Beach: the beach is barely 35 yards wide at waters edge, twice as wide for the actual beach area. Thought the beach ok, clean, a 10 minute walk from the room. We liked the simple food at the beach bar, good grouper sandwich, cold beer and drinks.
Dining: Ate at the 'inclusive' Cielo restaurant one night. Food was surprisingly good, very small menu. Didn't eat at the main dining room - we just don't like buffets.
Staff: Overall accommodating, try hard, English is poor. Would be very helpful if you speak some Spanish. Note: Everything's slow, accept it - your on vacation in the Caribbean
Cons and recommended options:
Beach suggestion:The small beach was acceptable for 2 days, after that we found 2 options, both a $2-3 taxi. Option 1 is literally 150 yards from the hotel beach but across the cap cana marina. Beautiful public beach. This area is residential, supposedly some famous baseball players and actresses have homes here. BETTER option, 5 minute $3 taxi to Juanjllo beach. SPECTACULAR beach, about a mile long empty with the exception of a surfboard rental shop and an excellent beach restaurant (Junajillo Rest and bar, Jessica is a great waitress). This beach is adjacent to Sanctuary, partner hotel with AlSol. We did Juanjillo the remaining 3 days, went into Sanctuary and used their pool, and grabbed a taxi back.
Food: hotel staff seemed to not know that an extremely good restaurant is outside the wall. La Yola is a beautiful restaurant on a smaller marina and right on the water. Excellent staff, very, very good food. We were able to get AlSol concierge to make a res and then they took us over in a golf cart - 2 minutes!
Other food option is on the premises, Caffe Borbonne (I think). Also, Italian, outside in the plaza, nice pasta, wood oven pizzas.
If you are not inclusive or get tired of the very limited choices I recommend both of these, or cab it to the other side of the marina to yet another Italian restaurant.
Con: Food, inclusive or not - the second night we were there the food options were all Italian: Cielo is Italian and the Main (buffet) dining room had Italian night!; the non-Inclusive options were Caffe B. or the one across the marina - both Italian. Come on! Coming from NJ/NY the last thing we need are nothing but Italian food, none of which can match what we get at home. I'm sure the folks from Canada and the rest of the US would like some options as well.

I would first say that AlSol Luxury Village is simply surreal! As my wife and I pulled up to the reception desk in the cab, we were greeted by Carlos, the bell boy. Carlos treated us like family!

During our checking-in, we were served two glass of complementary Champaign. This set the tone to the MOST unbelievable time of our lives!

Carlos drove us in the golf cart to our Junior Suite and took all of our luggage into our Suite. This Suite was in immaculate condition! We thought we were at the Ritz Carlton! It's a MUST see! Being that I am in a wheel chair, Carlos assisted me during our entire stay. He would pick me up from our suite and bring me back at anytime, day or night! When Carlos was off work, I could always rely on Alejandro.

Now to the fun part.... Hands down Ynocencio, the lobby bartender, was by far the most outstanding mixologist at the resort! Ynocencio made the most creative- best tasting drinks I have ever had! Ynocencio's dynamic personally and level of attention was second to none! But I can't forget about my morning bartender, Francisco. Francisco took care of me whenever Ynocencio was off. Francisco's infectious personality kept me company while my wife worked out at the resort's pristine workout facilities.

Now the food... Richard, the poolside chef, was extremely accommodating and made us feel like royalty! We were fascinated with his cooking expertise and adored the food he made. Manuel, Richard(not to be confused w/ the Chef) & Jose were our favorite servers. Their extremely attention to detail made every meal we had enjoyable!

Leonardo a.k.a. "Red Bull", was the man of the hour as he represented the entertainment committee. Red Bull is the most energetic entertainer I have ever witnessed! Red Bull lit up the entire resort!!! Red Bull did everything from teaching the morning stretching class to heading the dancing tutorials.

Last but certainly not least, there was the General Manager, Mr. Ygnacio Pérez. Mr. Pérez is a true gentleman! He made my wife & I feel like family!!! Needless to say, we have already began our return to AlSol Luxury Village, but just returned home yesterday!!!!
