Owner description: The amazing Hoyo Azul Lagoon, ranked No. 3 of all the attractions in Punta Cana, the exciting Zip Line Tour, the adventurous Dune Buggies, you can find all of these attractions and more in Scape Park at Cap Cana, Dominican Republic. The ocean, the beach, the cliffs, and the tropical forests combine together to make of us an exquisite natural asset. Cap Cana’s natural resources and extent makes it possible for Scape Park to offer all kinds of attractions for every taste. There is really no need to look for anything else outside Cap Cana.

“Hoyo Azul”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013

we went to Hoyo Azul first thing in the morning and had the place to ourselves. We were staying in Bavaro and it would have costed $40 cab each way to get there (we didn't want to do any of the other activities/tours) but the tour desk at our hotel called Scape Park and they picked us of, drove us there, stayed with us for the 1.5 hours we spent at Hoyo Azul, and drove us home. With the entrance fee we spent $40 less than if we had gotten a cab over. It was so pretty - I'd definitely recommend it!

“A muddy review”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

I used VIP Travel Services which also set up my transportation to and from the airport through Orbitz. Met with Wendy(VIP Travel Representative) at the tour desk at Iberostar Grand Bavaro, she made some great recommendations and we opted for the VIP Buggy Exursion, which included transportation to and from Scape Park at Cap Cana. It had rained in the evening of the day before and was overcast the day we participated. Wendy recommended that we schedule the first time available time as it would be less crowded, which turned out to be a great recommendation. After a slight delay on being picked up from resort we made the drive toward Scape Park, which took about 25-30 minutes. Upon arrival we signed waivers, waited for other guests to arrive and then were called to head toward the pre-buggy safety check about the do's and don'ts. The staff was bi-lingual and gave good instruction. We were all set to start our adventure. We had a thrilling and quite muddy ride on the first leg of our journey to a private beach would was nice and would have been better had the weather been cooperative. You spend about twenty minutes there, enjoying the ocean, etc. The staff takes additional pictures for you to review and buy later. The second leg of your journey is to Hoyo Azul, the water hole. We hit every mud puddle big and small on this part of the trip, enough so that I flooded the buggy several times. There is plenty of staff from Cap Cana that travels with you, so after making several adjustments, we ultimately traded dune buggies and drove one of the supervising staff's. They were very attentive and great about me trying to sink the buggy ever chance I got. Once to the Hoyo Azul, we had a short hike to what is an amazing experience. The water is cold, but refreshing and much needed after being covered top to bottom in mud. After thirty minutes enjoying a swim, you head back to your starting point. All- in-all you spend about 4 hours from start to finish. My only negative is with the pictures that the staff takes. You are given the opportunity to buy and they obviously want you to buy the CD which is $35usd which includes all pictures of you and your travel companion. One picture is $20usd. Although, I felt they are honest and made every attempt to show us they were burning pictures on a CD, once back in the states the CD had no pictures or anything for that matter on it. I emailed them on their main website and have not received any coorespondence. My advice would be to make sure you have them re-enter the CD and show you the pics are burned. Its a rushed process, as many are trying to do the same thing, but for such an enjoyable experience, it was a big disappointment to return without hardly a picture.

Tips one may find useful:
-You can bring backpacks, I suggest plastic bags inside backpack to keep valuables dry as you will get soaked depending on previous days weather.
-Sunglasses and a hat are good ideas, or bring your own sport goggles.
-You can wear flip flops, but I suggest old covered toe shoes, after all its an open air piece of equipment.
-Bathing suit or anything you don't mind getting wet or swimming in.
-Money as you can buy sunglasses for eye protection and bandanna's for dust, along with food and drinks, pictures, tips, etc.
-Dry clothes or a towel would have been nice, depending on your transportation you travel to and from either in a van or an open air military style truck which can be rather chilly on an overcast day.
-If you don't like the weather, reschedule, they typically will allow without issue.
-You are paired in the buggies and you can take turns driving since you make two stops.

“Little Pricey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

Scape park was a nice time. We visited Hoyo Azul there. A tip to know about this place is that you don't have to go through the excursions offered through your hotel. You can catch a cab there and pay a cheaper price to go on your own.

“Dune Buggy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

Dune buggy riding was an awesome experience. Going through the jungle and on the beach was awesome. Swimming on the private beach was beautiful and swimming in the pool cave was an excellent experience. Did not like that the whole experience felt short.

“Can't wait to do it again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

From the minute we pulled into the front gate at Cap Cana, we knew we were in for an unforgettable trip! The location was beautiful, the staff was so friendly and accommodating, and we will never forget our dune buggy excursion. Our favorite part was visiting playa juanillo. It was the most breathtaking beach we ever saw. The water was incredible-- temperature and clarity, and the sand was as white and untouched as could be. Riding the dune buggies was an exciting and unforgettable way to experience the beach and the cave!!!! All around fantastic excursion. Thank you scape park!!!!!
