First of all I think too many folks travel and set their expectations too high; based on their country, familiar hotel and resort ratings, and 5 star restaurants near home. People do not take into condierstaion the economy and the geographic/financial restraints of their chosen destination.
Punta Cana by far as a beach resort area is by far one of the best in the south. This particular resport offered anything and more as far as travels of all ages should require.
Positives:
The pools
The beach
The view
Food selection
People (Travellers & Locals)
Negatives:
Distance to main lobby and store area from rooms
Pool Hours would be nice at 7-midnight
Yes this an all inclusive, but people have to realize that the staff are not highly paid and that a few dollars extra goes along way. A quiet $40 dollars got us an upgrade from a nice basic gardenview room to a ocean/pool premium room. Lowly $1 tips to bar staff, restaurant staff, and the house cleasning staff increases service to a premium for a roughly total cost of $20 bucks!!!
All in all I would recommend this resort to people of all ages; if travelling as a couple or adults only I would stay at the sister resort the Punta Cana Princess.
Best travel wishes to all!
Dave
