I absolutely loved my stay at the Sirenis Cocotal.
We were pampered from the moment we arrived until the moment we left.
On check-in we received arrival cocktails and the staff were really lovely-even though they had a lot of check ins and were clearly under a lot of pressure.
Our room was beautiful and looked our over the pool and out towards the beach.
The beach was a long white strecth of sand with water sports such as kayaking/pedaloes etc included in the price. They also have parasailing etc available at a cost-but well worth it as the views are stunning.
There is pool/beach entertainment throughout the day with really lovely entertainment staff. The entertainment at night was also excellent.
We only went out on one excursion which was a boat trip around the island. This was a great day and great food drink. Bear in mind however that some of these trips make you dance with your fellow pasangers and drink shots of local alcohol-which was fun but i can imagine it would be off putting for some.
The food was extensive and something for everyone. Seafood/meat/vegatrian etc. You also get a couple of speciality meals thrown in at the restuarants on site too - these are also very good.
I had a wonderful stay and was really impressed.
Only fault would be that the 1.5hr transfer was quite bumpy and the surrounding area outside of the complex was quite barren.

i hate to complain its not what i do and very suprised that some of the thing are not mentioned that we went threw. Upon arrival at the resort you usually will get a drink on arrival we had to ask and finally we were given fruit punch and very minor i don't want people thinking we are whiners because we are not and are pretty easy to satisfy. Our travel agent said upon arrival to ask them for ajoining rooms and for ocean view and shouldn't be a problem at first we were told there were none so we said ok as we had 2 rooms and were taken to them in H block. We also asked for room safes just so your aware with deposit for two rooms safes this is a cost of 172 us dollars and cash only they will not accept a credit card or put one on file for anything you wish to do if you chose to do any excursions. We were taken to our rooms they were not tegether they were split apart and there was some other travelers that checked in ahead of us that had asked for rooms next to each other and they were split apart as well we managed to get this changed so everyone was next to each other. upon entering our romm we were greeted by a nice big cockroach that could have removed us from the premises if it wished we went back to the front desk and asked for this to addressed and decided to ask for an upgrade. Magically there was suddenly ocean view rooms available we asked about the suits as well they were both available at an additional cost which we decided not to pay. We were told that the room would be sprayed and we requested a daybed to be put in the room and they said they would look after it right way we thanked them and returned to out rooms. around 5:45 pm we were all hot from the flight and drive to the resort and decided to go for a swim as we were heading for the room we ran into a concierge he welcomed us and told us he would come with us to get a drink by the pool and we could go for a swim when we went to get a drink the only thing we could get was beer or a cola so one of the ppl in our party got a beer and as my wife and i don't drink alot we opted to get nothing. and decide to head for the pool. We just jumped in the pool and after not being in the pool for more than 2 minutes were told the pool is closed get out.We were not happy and complained a little and told the guy that the concierge told us we could and he said get out its closed so we left the pool not very happy.We went to the concierge who told us we could swim and get a drink and he seemed suprised that we could not gat a drink and were asked to leave the pool should they not be awre of this since they work there. We went back to our rooms and changed and decided to go eat over all the buffet food was good its was a bit repiticious and reading other some appeared to be a little under cooked but we decided to stay away from those paticular items.the last 3 days the selection of food in the buffet was better the alacartes were good we enjoyed them. MY 12 YEAR OLD SON WENT TO THE BAR to get a drink virgin of course and stood there for twenty minutes and was ignored after trying to get there attention and finally left without a drink. This i thought was very rude of them.He was very upset by this when we had our meeting the the westjet rep at the resort he was aware of the issues we had as minor as they were and seemed more concerened about my son not getting a drink than anything else since we expected ocean view rooms and it was on wriiten on our vouchers which the hotel kept he said he would call the hotel manager and address it by the 4th day the hotel manager still did not contact the westjet rep nice business way to go guys or gals. Nothing was ever done i felt even if the manager called and he or she would do nothing at least it would have been a response but to not call at all is horrible. The staff for the most part were friendly but other just looked and acted pissed off. The westjet rep told to tip everyone to get good service that is a joke i for one dont mind tipping but if your mean or nasty good luck. we always research and look to see what the local need or are lacking like pens or soap or other things and buy stuff and give them to maids as well as a cash tip and we recieved good service from them until they changed our maid part way threw the trip i gave the second maid some gifts and she did ok not as good as the first and pretty much ignored the second room they offer wifi in the lobby only. and you can get a 24 hour card for 10 bucks and a week card for 50 i did not need internet until the last few days and started trying on saturday to get one for the 24 hours they kept telling us there were none and was told the third day that the compnay for 24 hour closed but apparently the one week one was still open lol. I finally got a 24 hour card on wednesday they day prior to our departure so we could book our online depature threw westjet and then found out you cannot book online depature or pre boarding on westjet you have to do it at the airport.it seemed to me unless you pay for the vip upgrade at the resort or have lots of money for tipping don't expect good service. the concierge guys are relentless about trying to sell you time shares at there resorts you can tell them a 1000 times no they still bother you they said they were going to get us a vip breakfast because of the issues we had and did not say that we would have had to do the time share part of it someone we met at the resort went it is suppose to be 90 minutes and turned out to be 3 hours the model suites apparently were very nice be interesting to know if anyone acutually gets to stay in them or not they give you 80 dollars us so i guess that is a plus. The person that did it said she left without them confirming the actual price on it. If you have an issue with a staff member i seen it in another post and you say something it is true they will throw the other staff member under the bus so to speak. the disco on the resort does charge for drinks the casino does not don't know why its like that i never go to casino's but we spent a couple nights there spent very little money and had a great time did it just for fun we didn't go to ,ost of the shows but the entertainment team for all the shows all seemed very happy and energenic and the few went to were good again most of the staff were good others liked to ignore you. this should be a least a 4 star resort it is very clean the grounds keepers in some cases were friendlier than the staff one got me a coconut and carved a mug out of it. i would rate this resort as a 2 to 3 star due to the lack of service or caring from the hotel reception,concierge and management maybe upgrading to vip is the way to go not sure but you shouldn't have to upgrade at an all inclusive resort to get service. they were far worse problems on one of the excursions the boogie punta cana i won't say what happened but do some research they buggies are not safe.

if it were not for a best friend getting married, i would not have even went to this resort. Checked into our room after a long days travel (hotel is over an hour from the airport), and had no toiler paper, the room was beyond sauna-like HOT, only one AC worked {barely), and the ceiling fan did not work at all. We stayed for a week, and throughout this week we had to change rooms 3 times. Our very first night, we returned to our room around 2:00am, only to find an inch and a half of water from the doorway all the way down to where the sitting area is. demanded a new room -- no problem -- Three days later, SAME THING. Flooded room. Maitenance came with a roll of toilet paper and duct tape to fix it. I was showing him where it was leaking but he spoke not a word of english, so it was flooded again by morning. Moved the next day to a bug infested room. Ants, mites, and cockroaches. Not impressed. The rooms are severly outdated (which i had read in previous reviews), the beds feel like you're sleeping on a bed or rocks (the beach lounger chairs are far more comfortable), and the pillows ... oh the pillows ... BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS people!!! The food was OK. Buffet was the same thing every morning, day, and night. And the hours are funky hours too. 7am-10am. 1pm-3pm. 7pm-10pm. A la cartes were OK too. The Japanese one is really cool, and the food was good. The steak house was really good. The Italian was HORRIBLE. Of the 5 of us that went for dinner, I think we ate one meal combined. VERY BAD. Bars are closed by 1am, unless you go to the disco (you have to pay for your drinks there). Best part of this place is the beach. Would i go back?? Not a chance in hell.

I am not one to complain but This resort does not live up to a four or five star accommodation. The rooms were not up to par and I was not comfortable even getting in to the bed. Rooms were run down and dingy. There was not a variety of food available and times you could not get food. Staff was friendly but service was poor.

We returned from a 2 week trip to this hotel yesterday and we both had the best holiday ever!!! Met lovely people, lovely food, clean comfy rooms, polite and friendly staff and the entertainment was out of this world!!! The animation team-Will Smith, Snoopy, 50 Cent, and the lovely dancer Julio gave us amazing laughs and entertainment day and night. So friendly and funny and the shows were stunning, the michael jackson show was like something straight from the west end!! these guys are all so skillful and hardworking. My partner Dean (AKA Honey, AKA Miss Sirenis 2011!!) Had the time of his life!!! lol
Julio-Thank you for all your hard work, every show was wonderful and it was lovely to meet you, your a star and thank you for doing my make up!!! xxx
Roberto- Good luck with your music and thank you for the CD, everyone here loves it!!

We both had 2 massages each in the spa and they were amazing!!! great value too and came out super relaxed. The head massage is lovely and the relaxation one does your whole body. Deff worth a go.

We would deffinatly return, the only thing we could possibly fault was that the time share/vacation club guys were abit pushy and annoying, try to avoid them if you can but a firm no thank you usually works. And dont get tricked into the going to the 'special quests breakfast', its these guys trying to get you into listen to their presentation and you'll be in there for ages!!!
Overall deffinatly an amazing holiday-we would recomend it to anyone. :-)

First time to Dominican and not sure what to expect but if this hotel is anything to go by I will be a frequent visitor. The staff: Reception, Bar, Waiters, Animation Team were all absolutely fantastic and could not do enough to make our stay so enjoyable. All the other guests we spoke to had the same opinion and the fact that there were so many repeat guests speaks for itself. The shows put on by the Animation Team at 9.30pm nearly every night were so professional and the same team kept the guests amused and entertained throughout the day - cannot believe the energy of these guys!
We were advised by Becky the TC rep to take out a Safe Deposit box which we did at 3 dollars per day (common sense really) but on a couple of occasions I did forget to put valuables in the safe and I did not have anything stolen. Even the gardeners used to put on an impromptu demonstration by shinning up the Palm Trees and posing at the top before coming back to earth and encouraging amused tourists to have a go! We could not fault the food, every day something different as well as the regular huge range of fresh fruit, cereals, smoothies (out of this world) and pastries. We tried to work our way through the cocktail Menu (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) but did not manage all of these. The Peacocks wandering around the grounds love to be photographed and the most effective alarm clock ever, especially if they decide to visit your balcony at about 5-6am. The A-La-Carte restaurants were also brilliant, especially the Japanese - make sure you take your camera to capture the skills of the chef!
We went on 3 trips "Dr Fish Spa" - first class, "Mega Trucks" -exciting and interesting and the Helicoptor trip along the coast - the best photo-opportunity and helicoptor landed right at Reception. All brilliant value for money and would recommend.
We were in "A" block, furthest from the Beach but nearest to Reception, Dining Room and Evening Entertainment. The walk to the beach and pool was beautiful through the gardens. We also had the top floor and did not have mosquito problems at all. Shower in bathroom was not brilliant but adequate, beds very comfortable and balcony spacious. Ceilings were also very high and the room was always cool even when it was boiling hot outside.
Overall the holiday was faultless and cannot wait to return.
