I went to the Dominican Republic to recharge my batteries and watch the semi finals and finals the euro cup without distribution. My trip was a huge success because I found The Greek. I hadn’t had the chance to eat Greek foods in ages, living in Costa Rica. To my surprise, I came across a beach side sign walking along the beach. I decided stop and have a Greek salad, one of my favorites.
The Greek turned out to be the perfect place. Not only was the food excellent but it’s also a sports bar; it was one of the only places that was showing the soccer games. I watched the semi finals and finals in some of the best astrosphere seeing that there is a large Spanish Ex-Pat community in the DR.
I can’t say enough about the food and the service; in a word: excellent. Having a beer in the frozen mug taking in the scenic view was exactly what the doctor ordered. I must gained 5 pounds because of how good the food was. They even imported a Greek chef from Toronto, where I lived growing up. In addition to the excellent traditional Greek fair, the Spanish and Caribbean dishes were to die for. The paella was some of the best that I’ve anywhere and my new Spanish friends agreed.
I can’t say enough about what a good trip it was for me. I was able to relax, eat like a king, watch my favorite sport and top it off it was also Canada Day.
