Simply terrible. Very disappointing! I wish we had choosen differently. Rooms were smelly and mouldy and in very bad repair. For example balcony and patio doors couldn't lock, toilets wouldn't flush or kept on running, slippery floors and showers which would not drain, no dressers for clothing storage, lumpy mattress with springs sticking up, loud music in all pools. I am afraid I could go on and on.

I just got back from my vacation in punta cana dominican republic last week with a buddy and stayed at the grand paradise bavaro, this is an excellent resort with a bunch of space, friendly people and the staff is great. The food was good that me and my buddy didn't need to go book an la carte, but if you do wanna book those you gotta do it the day you wanna go. They got 2 buffets so it doesn't get overly busy. They had a bunch of activities to keep you busy during the day and had plenty excursion you could book. They have many pools so they are never busy and you could always get beach chairs anytime of the day that they had plenty of. The bartenders there Carlos Hernandez,and Kenny de jesus abreu are great. They make sure your having a great time and go out of their way to make sure you have a great trip. They usually work down by the beach bar after 5pm-2am. They have pingpong tables everywhere so you can always play and have a beach volleyball court up near the top for the northern buildings as well another one on the beach. They also got tennis courts and a basketball court as well as mini golf and billiards(pool tables), tones of stuff you could do.They have a train that runs 24/7 from the lobby to the buildings up top so you don't need to walk or you could walk it and would take about 10-15 minutes, the resort is big with tones of space. They even had kayaks you can rent for an hr a day, or snorkel gear all free to rent. I would recommend this resort to younger adults as there is always somewhere to grab a drink with a 24hr bar.

We got back from punta cana last week and had a great vacation at the grand paradise bavaro.

The pros: first and foremost was the people at the resort! They are some of the nicest and hardest working people I have ever met. The service at this resort is impeccable. Juan went above and beyond to make sure we had a great vacation. He took great care of us from the start and the entire week. The beach was amazing, the water is crystal clear and the sand is soft and clean. The grounds are breathtaking, so many palm trees and flowers everywhere. Gorgeous! Our hotel room was at a great location, near the beach and pool, we were in building 3. The lobby bar was fun, they had live entertainment n we were there, it was fun to hang out.

The cons: Food was just ok. We were able to eat at all the al a cart restaurants, our favorite was the Italian restaurant. The salad bar and chicken parmigiana was the best. Steakhouse and Japanese restaurants were also very good. Buffet for breakfast was good. You could definitely find something to eat. Lots of options. Unfortunately we both did get sick for a day. Can't blame it on the food, we were in the sun the day before and got pretty burnt and had quite a few cocktails. But it was no fun. Also we had a lot of issues with our toilet in our room. It wouldn't flush and we had to have it plunged several times. The rooms and buildings were a little tired looking but not bad.

The resort will be closing for 6 months while they do renovations because they were bought out by sunwing. I can't wait to go back once they re open and see the changes. I would go back in a heartbeat! We had an awesome time and made new friendships. if you are booked at the grand paradise you will not be disappointed!

A few tips bring dollar bills for tipping. Ask for a room near the beach.

Just returned from a holiday in this hotel, i found the overall experience to be very nice and i have these advices for you future customers:
Try to book a room closer to the see, if you discover at the reception you are all the way to the back try to solve it with the person behind the counter if you get my point.
The food is really good in all the restaurants, we enjoyed the most the Italian one. You have only two tickets for a la carte restaurants but you can get more from the same reception.
Don't fall for the invitation in relation to the time sharing offer, the staff is quite aggressive in their approach, they will try to convince you really hard and they will waste a lot of your time. If you don't accept you will be treated less polite, this experience was a big minus.
The cocktails differ if you give tips or not, which i found quite strange but it's probably to be expected. The room is clean and a dollar a day left on the table will help to keep it as such :)
The activities besides all inclusive are really, really expensive, trips start at 100 dollars, massage 70, haircut 22. This is comparable or even more expensive than in Western Europe and it's not justified. But the resort has many things to offer, enjoy your time and make it a great experience! Regards, Alex
