After reading some of the reviews, I was a little nervous about this resort. I went for one week with my family, from Feb 5th -Feb 12th, 2013. I can tell you that we had a great time! I have done alot of traveling to all inclusive resorts, therefore I can compare. At this resort the staff are very friendly, but there was one employee that made sure our vacation was wonderful and his name is Juan Gomez Ramirez!!! I have never had better service from an employee as I did with Juan. He is a very caring man who always went out of his way to please us. Because of Juan making our vacation so special, my sister and her boyfriend are going to this resort. They are very excited to meet Juan and have him in their memories also. We will come back to this resort as long as Juan will take care of us! Juan if you are reading this review, thank you for making our holiday special.

Just returned from Grand Paradise Bavoro and had an awsome time. Food was very good. The service was excellent, staff were friendly and especially Carlos Gil (Cafe concierto) always smiling and making us feel like family. Had a few issues with our room however Thonny our Sunwing rep was very helpful and made our stay a great one. The resort grounds were beautiful and cleaned. There was plenty of chairs at the pool and beach. The only thing that was missing were cappucinos. Overall it was one of the best resort i stayed in.

My boyfriend spent seven nights at the Grand Paradise Bavaro from Feb2-9. It was a wonerful vacation. We were a bit nervous before going, due to mixed reviews, but when I emailde the resort, Juan Ramirez immediately took away any concernes. We had a wonderful room, and he made sure to help make our dinner reservations every night. We felt like VIP, and felt we got more than our money's worth. Juan made it more special that we thought and we really encountered that with a lot of the resort staff. The food was alittle difficult to navigate at first, as there are so many people staying at the resort but once you figure out what you like, there are plenty of options. The room was well cleaned, and the beach was incredible. The pool waitresses for drinks were fantastic.

Very large resort (24h trolley passes every 10 minutes), extremely clean! Maids come to the room multiple times per day (it's like they knew as soon as we left the room). Very friendly staff - our favorites were Felix at the buffet, Carlos Gil at Café Concierto and our maid Hilda in 2300 section was such a sweetheart. They truly made the trip a momorable one. The grounds are very well taken care of, and love the fact that they left some of the natural parts (pond with fish, large birds, etc.).

The music was a great mix of old and new. At first we were disappointed to be so far from the beach (building 2) but it turned out to be a blessing. We had our own pool, our own bar, our own buffet, which all turned out to be more quiet than the ones closest to the beach.

Italian and International a la carte restaurants were good. My family did not seem to enjoy as much as the buffet but I did. The buffet always had alot of variety.

Tried the para-sailing and Saona Island Excursions- worth the money! Beware when shopping, the people selling stuff are quite agressive (not enough to hurt you, but they will put stuff in your hands and necklaces around your neck, etc)

Overall, wonderfull trip. Best advice would be : if something is wrong or missing or not working- you must mention it!!! They will not guess. they were very accommodating for my mom who had several things broken in her room.... but then the next room did not have air conditioning... that's just unlucky. But otherwise, no complaints!
