This was a great resort please don't let the reviews worry you I have stayed at 5 star resorts in Mexico/Cuba and Punta Cana this was a wonderful resort really big and great food and service..
I read the reviews before i left and was so upset but trust me nothing to worry about some people complain about every little thing remember you are in a very poor country and the workers make in a mth what we make in a day ..
Be kind and open yourself up to having a great vacation and you will !!

The beach was amazing go have a great time and dont let little details bother you like no kleenex /facecloths or only one towel per person i was shocked to hear what people where complaining about ..

1st time at this resort and was here on a family vacation with my children.................Bavaro Beach is as always out of this world!!!!!!!!!! The weather as amazing and would recommend booking ur vacation during the first week of March.

The room was nice and clean and our maid Attaglacia Santiler was excellent!!!!!!!! The 24-hour train was nice but regarding the buffets it lacked some imagination......the a la carte restaurants were very good.

overall i will recommend this resort.

This was my first trip out of Canada and my first time on a plane. I went with 6 other family member so I didn't have a say about where we stayed. I was frightened when I was first reading reviews it sounded like the worst place on earth to stay.
We left Canada on February 24 and returned home on March 2nd. We never had any problems with the room, had plenty of toilet paper and towels and the room was spotless. One family member did have a problem with her sink but she stopped a maid and it was fixed in minutes.
The servers at the buffet were very nice and smiled all the time. After going to the buffet a few nights the servers all remembered us and at one point we had 3 different servers helping us at dinner.
The beach was a little distance away but nothing like the 20+ minutes I seen other ppl write about. It took a max of 6 minutes to walk. And if you are with ppl that drank a little too much they had the trolly running 24/7 to drop you off where you needed to go. But most of the time we could walk quicker then the trolly.
The beach was beautiful and the sand was cleaner then Canadian beaches that I have been too. 3 of us even went on the Zip Line Adventure and had a blast. And all of us went on the Saona Island boating trip. I would recommend both of these adventures to everyone. Just remember to use tons of sun screen. I used SPF 70 and I got burn to a crisp. OUCH
Everyone in my family had a great time with no complaints. We are even planning a trip back with more family members before the end of the year.
I would suggest to everyone not to listen to anyone else but find out for yourself how fun this resort is.

My boyfriend and I travelled here on the above date. (We are both pushing 50) I like others was stressing when I had read the reviews...Trust me I packed bug spray, Lysol, Bug killer etc...Guess what - never unpacked it-didn't need too!!!.We had booked the holiday online with sunwing vacations. We left out of Toronto I have got to tell you I was very impressed with Sunwing! Anyways we got to the airport in Punta Cana it was a bit of a zoo as apparently 3000 Canadians had flown in that day...However as soon as we felt that warm breeze on our face all was good! It is a bit of a challenge to locate your bus that will take you to your resort (DO NOT go with anyone inside the airport area who says they work for the charter company you are looking for-they may look like your rep but they are time share people) Go outside the airport and your rep will be there! We arrived at the hotel I cannot express how easy check in was how pleasant the people on front desk were especially Will he upgraded us to a Jr Suite with King bed jacuzzi tub..(Room 9328) was spotless big balcony. Yes you pay for room safe..yes you only get one key card ...and yes you get remote from front desk seriously what is the big deal?

We found all the staff extremely friendly,extremely hardworking...we left $5 us everyday for our maid she absolutely deserved it!


Yes there is lots of rum but we also found voldka, tequila and gin at all bars..so not sure how we managed and others didn't? There was a couple of times one day when the pool bar ran out of lime juice so we just went to the bar in the main lobby..not a big deal! The way people had been going on about the walk to beach and how far it was I thought we would have to pack a lunch!- we were in building 9 (middle area) and it took us a whole 6 mins to walk there -whew!

We ate lunch at the buffet and for us there was always something to eat! We had dinner at the Asian restuarant -service again was amazing initmate atmosphere-Also ate at the Steakhouse and the service again great we both had filet...was fab! We didn't care too much for the food at the Italian restaurant however again staff was great!

The grounds, beach and pools where all spotless and immaculate...We never had an issue with no tolit paper in washrooms or found them disgusting...

On the beach some vendors will walk buy you and ask you if you want to buy something a polite No and they move on ...hey they are just trying to make a living!

I wonder if some of these previous reviews are written by people who work for the other resorts? Anyways we had a great time...were very impressed and would definately return
