I cannot say enough about this Resort. My husband and I arrived on 9/29 and from the arrival time? Everyone was Outstanding, thanks Jose V. Morales my friend! Hola!
We also celebrated our 33rd Wedding Anniversary and what a Great way to Celebrate. We feel we left a family behind and happy to say, we are planning our next vacation BACK and we cannot wait to come Home! My husband and I travel alot on our own and with his Company. We have been to many great Resorts and we must say? Excellence? Your Top-Notch! You are up there with the BEST! To all the Staff from Front Desk, housekeeping to server's (Hola Manuel)! You all do an Outstanding JOB! No, let me correct that, you do an Excellente Job! And you do it so well with smiles and songs and making everyone feel part of the family. My husband and I cannot say enough about this trip only Next trip in home? WE make it longer!
The food was excellente, and people come on if you couldn't find one item to enjoy at this Resort? Then don't go back. What my dislikes were had nothing to do with the Resort or the Staff people. It had to do with the travelers (not all mind you) but some. Here is a Resort that has everything one could possbility desire, goregous beach, clean pools, excellent food, clean rooms and you see each day how hard the Staff people work. Even when I go away I clean, I at least try to make rhyme for housekeeping not have our place look like a mess. And then to see folks leaving empty drink glasses around the pool ledge, come on people your on vacation but you can't take the glass back to the pool bar? It's totally embassing to see how some folk treat a Resort but I find it horrible. And they should be ashamed. Grown Adults sometimes could be worst then children and frankly most children would clean up after themselves. I just feel it's not a WAY to RESPECT a Beautiful Resort and Lovely people who work here. And those who have written reviews and complained? Your probably the one's who where disrepectful to the Islanders Resort.
Well my friends at Excellence? We cannot wait to come return, you have a wonderful Resort and what makes it so wonderful are the people who are employed at this Resort, again God Bless you all! Everything was just Outstanding and yes my friends, Excellente! Til we meet again next year, God Bless!

If you want a great vacation you must go excellence. It is so clean and everyone who works there is extremly friendly. The food was great ,pool was so clean at all times. They made you feel so welcomed . Weather is very hot and humid which I love so to me it was fine. Make sure you bring everything you need like shampoo, deodorant, sun tan lotion ,very costly if you don't.I give this hotel a 5 in all catories.

We just got back from a week at Excellence Punta Cana. This resort is terrific! From the moment you arrive, you feel like the entire staff is there just for you. Everyone is so friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay the best. You are always greeted with a smile. The food at Excellence is wonderful. There are 7 restaurants at the resort with some of them being closed on different nights. We didn't eat at the Mexican or the Italian, but the others that we ate at we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Our favorite part about the restaurants is they are a la carte and you don't have to make reservations. We only had to wait one time for a table and it was only a 5 minute wait. We are beach people and this was the best beach experience we've had. It is a private beach and the waves are awesome. We enjoyed the boogie boards and just playing in the waves. The staff will come out to the beach and take your drink order and there is someone that brings out pizzas and nachos for lunch. That was a really nice touch. They were delivered very hot and tasty. We only spent one afternoon at the main pool - again we are beach lovers. The pool is very nice. On one end, it was relaxing with people lounging and talking. On the other end, there were people playing volleyball (one day it was water polo). So there is a good mix of pool activities. The cascade pool (which is smaller and more secluded) is very relaxing. There was always some sort of activity going on, from cooking lessons, dance lessons, games, spanish lessons, horseback riding, bike tours and many more. You can do as little or as much as you would like. There is a spa, casino and disco but we did not go to any of those. The nightly entertainment was very good. One of our favorites was the magic show - it was so good! Again, I have to say that what makes this a great resort is the staff. They are Excellente! We will be going back - I can't wait!

We were at the Excellence from October 5-10. This was our first time to the DR and Excellence, and will not be our last. It is hard to know where to begin, but I will try to cover as much as I can.

Arrival: As many had warned, the bus trip from the airport is over an hour and a bit crazy. The bus drivers should be in Nascar. It was nice though to see the real Dominican way of life along the way. Upon arrival you are greeted with a cool towel and a glass of champagne - nice touch! Check-in was very smooth and they put us in a 3rd floor room when requested.

Room: We were in a gardenview basic room and were trying to find out from others prior to leaving a good building. In my opinion we lucked out and got one of the best. It was in building #6 on the third floor (high vaulted ceilings) - room 6205. It was perfect on the end and from the balcony we looked to a beautiful garden with fountain and could see out over the pool and swim up bar and even out to the ocean. For the cheapest room, it was incredible! This also was a building right next to the main lobby area and all restaurants - steps away from all of the action. The rooms were updated during our stay with new balcony curtains and new quilts and pillow covers. The jacuzzi was great and we had towel art each night. You get maid service twice daily.

Pool/Beach: Amazing - hard to beat anywhere else. 2 pools one being the length of resort and the other quieter cascading pool. Many chairs and beds around pools and on beach. I would get your towels right away as they seemed to go fast. Just ask if they run out. The waves were rough and we actually saw a man taken to the hospital after a boogy boarding accident - it is at your own risk. Great drink and food service at the pool and beach.

Restaurants - Chez Isabelle was our favorite - chateaubriand, Lobster House is wonderful - all lobster dishes, Spice - good sushi, Barcelona - a great filet we did not have dinner at Agave, Grill or Toscana. Toscana and the Grill we used for lunch and breakfast - both good. All food had great presentation.

Staff - What can we say - they have never ending energy. Fransisco and Mariel were very special and we had a great time participating in games of pool volleyball, tappy tappy, dancing etc... Que - Que - Que

We can not say enough wonderful things about this resort. If you get a chance, be sure to take the massage classes from Oscar at the spa. We also did the horseback riding included from the resort - the scenery was nice, but the horses were sad looking and they liked to ride in a clump.
