where should I start....day of arrival: Vacation was booked via Expedia.com and at the time of booking, I was under the impression that I booked that last room available. Once we arrived, I asked for an upgrade to a duplex room and the hotel was able to accommodate my husband, son and I. Upon accessing the room, it smelled like a smoking convention just ended in there...it smelled horribly. We immediately asked that they spray and air out the room. The shower curtain was half way on the floor and there was a musty smell along with the cigarette smell. Blankets are thin cheap covers and I had to request for additional blankets so we wouldn't freeze at night. The decors need updating and the television had a snowy effect in the background and sounded bad. The rooms DO NOT include irons or ironing boards. if you want to iron, you have to rent the iron from the front desk and leave a deposit of $20 and must be returned as soon as you are finished so others can use it. I have never experienced this in any other hotel I've stayed in.
Food: the resort has three restaurants to dine in, in addition to the Grill and Main buffet. If you want to dine at the Italian, Mexican or French, you must go to the front reservation desk in the lobby between 9 and 10 am and stand on a long line to make your reservations. The quality of food in all the restaurants are not memorable. Service in the restaurants is extremely slow....it took 1 hour before our food was served and it wasn't that great....we had desert and it tasted like cardboard and how is it possible that a restaurant doesn't serve coffee at the end of a meal?
The food cuisine is catered towards Europeans and is not international and as an American, it would have been nice to get some down home food. The majority of guests that stay are Russian and they do cater to that culture. Beach chairs are scarce in the morning and you have to get there early and place your towel on a chair to claim it, then go get something to eat before starting your day. The evening entertainment is boring and the night club is never full in the evening.
However there are buses that periodically leave the hotel and will take you to shopping areas and there is a night club called Imagine that seems to be popular - the cost to party for one week in that club is $60 per person. Transportation to the club is $40 per person.
Would I ever come back to stay here?? NO!!
