“Too expensive...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

Well it was amazing, but take your wallets coz everything ther costs and all this takes about 5 hours. So get ready for a long day. But worth it. :)

“Great staff, just a bit disappointing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2014

Our rep let us down a little by mixing up our date for this so we got there too late to swim with the sealions which was our main reason for booking it!
Snorkelling with sharks and stingrays was a little disappointing as we hardly even got to see them while we were in the enclosure.
The sea snorkel from the catamaran was a little dull - didn't learn a lot and saw the same fish and coral reef all the time.
We really enjoyed the friendly vibe on the catamaran though, and we all joined in with the dancing. Swimming in the natural pool was also great. The staff made this trip better than average.

“Not much dolphin time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2014

Went for the most expensive package to ensure optimum dolphin time but came away feeling a little disappointed. After being funnelled through the complex and being forced to look at the parrot show, get ‘kissed’ by a sea lion and sit in the bar, you get 30 minutes with 2 dolphins in quite a large group of 10 people. The trainer mainly focuses on getting the dolphins to do tricks around you whilst a photographer captures it all on film in the hope you’ll buy it at the end. The highlight was being pushed along by your feet and launched out of the water, however having swam with dolphins before I was looking for a little more time to touch and interact with these amazing creatures rather than watch other tourists have dolphins jump over their heads whilst being photographed.

We paid almost $300 for two people which in hindsight was a total rip off. Dolphin Explorer try to justify the price by giving you a short parrot show and an even shorter sea lion show which were both cute, but I paid to see dolphins!!! Some selected members of your group (women and children) will probably get more time with the dolphins too which is a little unfair…

Don’t get me wrong, any time spent swimming with dolphins is going to be pretty special, however for the price I would expect a lot more than we got. On the plus side the animals look happy and well cared for and the enclosures look large and spacious, something that can’t be said for other countries. We came away with no photos to remember the experience by as they were so poor that it was hard to justify the extortionate price tag. Think twice before booking with Dolphin Explorer and look into other dolphin parks in the area to see what they can offer.

“My Daughter loved it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

This is very neat place if you want to have a feel of dolphins up-close. My 8 yr old daughter went for Dolphin Funtastic and she loved it so much that could not stop talking about it even after weeks. The environment is really friendly, enough time to explore. Washrooms were clean. There is a restaurant there, we did not eat much except coconut water and ice creams/chips but they do have some fast food available. Don't forget your CD that's really great. Take some cash or credit card to buy it on the spot. It's unbelievable how quickly pictures and videos were made available.Overall an excellent place to visit.

“Great dolphin experience - but dont do the shark/ray swim”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

We booked this excursion through Thomson/First Choice. We asked to book the complete package and our rep Sharon informed us that Thomson no longer sell the Fur Seal swim as they were biting guests so we booked the full dolphin swim experience and paid extra to swim with the sharks and rays. Don't bother doing this part, We waited in the sea for half an hour while staff tried to catch the sting ray and shark for a photo and the American trainer was very rude to me. We then missed our allocated dolphin time slot and had to wait an extra 45 mins with our life jacket on in the heat before joining the next dolphin time slot.
As for the dolphins, the swim was amazing. We wanted to buy the pics and DVD which cost us $130 for both, a lot of money but once you see them you will want to purchase so take spending money.
