My girlfriend and I stayed at this superb resort in late November / early December. The location was good. The environment/atmosphere was great. The resort grounds/facilities were superb. The staff was most excellent. We did our research carefully and let's just say, we were glad that we picked this resort.

We booked our travel through Expedia and the shuttle ride to the hotel was without a hitch. We were greeted by a cool wash towel and a glass of chilled champaign. We checked in problem free and were greeted by our consierge Yahaira. She was great and showed us to our room (needless to say, the porter had our luggage in our room well before we even made it up to our room).

The room was very clean and when I say clean, I really mean it (considering I'm somewhat a neat freak / slight germo-phobe). While we never met our housekeeping staff, they were great in making sure the room was clean and the nightly turn-down service was a special touch. Henry who was in charge of stocking our mini-bar was on top of it and we never had to request anything because the mini-bar was always stocked.

When it comes to food, I found it quite good. We're picky eaters and surprisingly, we enjoyed the buffet at La Riviera the most. We also paid a little extra for the Friday night lobster dinner on the beach and the setting/atmosphere alone was well worth it.

Gilbel, Victor, Carlos, Jencen, Feliz, and the rest of the wait staff were excellent. Never once did I get the feeling that they were expecting a tip and they were always very friendly.

Karina, Cecilio, and Maria A. at the plaza were on top of it serving us drinks during the nightly entertainment.

Benjamin and Jeffrey from the beach were great in serving us drinks around the clock. Needless to say, they brought their smiles everytime we saw them. One thing about the chairs at the beach was that there were always guests who would throw beach towels on the chairs at 8 in the morning and would not actually show up until noon. This drove me nuts as there were quite a few chairs sitting empty with a towel over it while other guests were trying to look for a chair. The staff at the beach did their best to try and find vacant chairs for those guests but this really is an issue with the inconsiderate guests, and not the staff. I don't know how management can go about dealing with this issue, but regardless, props to the beach staff.

The entertainment team deserves a special recognition. Speedy was exceptional along with Akon who kept us entertained throughout our stay at the resort whether it be dance lessons on the beach, foam party at the pool, or the nightly entertainment at the plaza. Micky, Winnie, Cinthia and Isaias, who made up the rest of the entertainment team, worked their butts off to make our stay at the resort that much more enjoyable. I got a chance to sit down with Speedy just to have a chat and I have to say the individual attention that he gave to guests were beyond the call.

Speedy, my friend, I would come back to the resort just for you and the rest of the entertainment team!

Overall, the Secrets Royal Beach resort in Punta Cana was great, beyond what I expected. While the resort itself was great, I would like to thank each and every one of the staff who made our stay so enjoyable. Because of you, we'll definitely be back. Hopefully sooner than later!

Traveled here with a group of 26 people for a destination wedding. Everyone had a nice and relaxing vacation. This resort is amazing! Staff is extremely friendly. Rooms are always clean. Food is tasty. An amazing place to have a destination wedding! Definitely worth the price. Can't wait to go back.

We have returned three times to this resort, it is wonderful, we prefer a smaller quieter resort when just traveling without our children. We invited two other couples with us, We had a blast! the beach drink service was outstanding, Margarita kept us hydrated!!! The meals at the restaurants were great, we did try dinner twice next door at the sister resort and we were sorely disappointed.. terrible, service and food not worth the walk, we did not leave the resort again. Rooms were clean, and kept clean by the staff, the staff were exceedingly friendly... we absolutely love this resort and cannot wait to return. LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!!!
we also spent an afternoon at the spa.... one word.... AMAZING!!
