“Stay here and you'll make unforgettable friends, and will experience the true Dominican Republic at its best.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2010

Guesthouse Las Piedras will provide you with an excellent way to experience the people and culture of the Dominican Republic. You will be able to feel that you truly visited the country in this wonderful hidden retreat where the owners, Lila and Florian, are always willing to make you feel welcome and treat you like family. Lila and Florian provide an always comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Their interesting backgrounds and cultures are a great representation of how the Dominican Republic has been throughout history.

I was born in this beautiful country but I am currently living in the USA. Nevertheless, my visit to Hotel Las Piedras left me with a desire to return very quickly with my husband (an American guy), my relatives, friends, and whoever else I meet that is interested in sharing with me the pleasures of this region of the island in an authentic family-oriented place to stay.

Guesthouse Las Piedras is a perfect island retreat that is non-pretentious and unassuming and offers you the chance to relax and let loose. It is important to know that it’s located in a region of Bavaro close, but not on the beach, in a small village called Cortecito. Although many call the entire region Punta Cana, the actual area known as Punta Cana is about a 20-30 minute taxi ride. However, you can take a motoconcho very easily to the closest beach in Cortecito and it’s beautiful.

Best of all, don’t hesitate to ask Lila or Flo any questions about activities, entertainment, beaches, transportation, etc. They will even cook you specific Dominican or international food at an extra cost or recommend a local restaurant.

Finally, you will be very happy with the price as this place is much more affordable than most of the other options in Punta Cana. Trust me, I looked all around and I am a native. All of the people who have stayed here seemed very relaxed and flexible so I wonder whether it’s a coincidence or if this place makes you that way! Either way, if you a flexible traveler looking for an great experience in an authentic family environment, do not think twice about staying at Guesthouse Las Piedras.

My wife and I only stayed here one night (before we flew home) but in retrospect we definitely could have spent a few days here. The room is cozy and clean with a comfortable bed. Florian and his wife are so friendly, and the breakfast was great too. There are bars, restaurants, and stores within walking distance (try the Mexican restaurant…it was yummy) and the gorgeous beach is a short drive away. We were happy that we found this place, since you get so much at such a reasonable price.
