“Nice beach, relaxing place, cheap food, friendly staff but must keep your eyes open”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

We stayed for one week in this hotel via Sunwing from Toronto. Sunwing representative is doing nothing and will not help you if you have any problem with your reservation. He just wanted to sell excursions.
Hotel is old - 22 years - but does not look too bad.
No air conditioned restaurants or lobby... only A/C in rooms.
Rooms are large and OK... Just a small cupboard for one week stay.
Due to big green areas & some areas looks like a jungle of trees, the hotel is full of Mosquitos. If you do not use OFF, you will be eaten by Mosquitos in lobby & restaurants.
The beach is a beautiful sandy beach. Sea Water is clear.
Pool is nice as well. Pool bar staff are excellent and they serve good cocktails in decent friendly hospitality.
Food in buffets or in al carte restaurant : Yes lots of varieties but poor cheap quality, without good taste.
Reception staff will give you excellent room location close to pool/beach area if you tip them well. So do it when you check-in.
Restaurant and housekeeping staff are friendly and helpful... They do their best without tips even.
Spa building is nice and big, but gym is too small for 800 rooms resort.
Room service staff: be careful they will try to charge you falsely outside all inclusive & they will collect the money cash in their pocket.
Don't buy anything or excursions from beach people.
If you go to any excursion, try to do not pay until you see what you get. Lots of tricks.
In general it was a good relaxing vacation in a nicely located hotel, but must deal in those hotels smartly and with opened eyes.

Room Tip: Tip reception clerk when you check in.

We spent 2 amazing weeks here. I would recommend choosing the Platinum Package. You have your own front desk, private beach, concierge service, free room service, free massages (so worth it) and really great guest rooms. The beach is beautiful and clean. I think the best part of this trip were the staff. Margarita at the Platinum Lobby was a ray of sunshine and always welcoming and tailored to all of our needs. Anna would make sure we had our favorite drinks ready the minute she would see us coming. The restaurants were good, expecially Licey, which is free for Platinum guests. Wasn't crazy about el Pescador, but with all the choices of restaurants, we had enough options not too get too bored.

Room Tip: If choosing a Platinum package, I would recommend staying in the rooms from the 76 villas. They are...

We vacationed February 15 - 23, 2013. We have stayed at the Bavaro Princess 3 other times and this was by far our best! We have traveled to Punta Cana 14 times and this is by far our favorite resort. We love the room, grounds, restaurants, and staff. The Apple representative Carlos made our stay wonderful. He made sure he found us everyday to see if there was anything he could do for us. We will be coming back again this February 2014 in part due to the service we received from Carlos! Cant wait to see you Carlos!

First, Don't even try to deal with Vanessa at the front desk. She is very rude lady, and doesn't really care if her customers are happy. We were transferred here from the Princess All Suites and were promised VIP status. We did not infact get VIP status, but were instead kicked out the platinum lounge. Daniel was very nice at first, and then made false promises about getting the honeymoon package immenities we were promised... oh and PAID FOR. We upgraded to the honeymoon package and in fact were treated like crap. People are everwhere begging for money- it's rather annoying. The Bar staff was awesome-especially Raphy. Also, loved the guy in McPrincess. I don't suggest you go here. :(

My husband and I just came back on august 12 2013 from the bavaro princess and OMG....reading the previous comment from ''employees are thieves'' and everything the girl said ITS SOOO TRUEEE we were there the same week and us too had a misfortune with ABSOLUTLY NO HELP AND SUPPORT!!....on our last night there, we got our towel stolen on our balcony and our shoes were everywhere on the grass. EVEN WORSE, I heard someone playing with our door trying to come in around 4am( they close all the lights u cant see anything). My sister who was also with us but In a different room with my niece also around the same hours saw a shadow on the balcony trying to come in. SOOO, the next morning we went to the lobby and reception said, wait for the girl that comes in at 8 ( assistance)...NOT HELPFUL.....then wait for the manager TONY!! that only comes in at 9....not helpful and very rude and cocky...SUNWING WING REPRESENTATIVE!! HOSTER!!! ....even worse( we were a ping pong ball)....they weren't helping, calling us liars saying we probably lost our towels on an excursion( didn't do any)...my husband wanted to call the cops...they said go to the station we are not aloud calling them( BULL!!!). Hoster said it was our negligence and took out his wallet and said "" but u think im going to take my money out to pay for your towels"" WOW!! and that's the guy that's suppose to represent u....TONY THE MANAGER ( if u can call him that) says that there was no sign of entry........are u kidding me!!! HORRIBLE PLACE!!! all the positive comments of other travelers are there because they were lucky enough that nothing happened but god forbid something would of, their reviews would have been different....u cant be safe in that hotel......and everything else the previous traveler said about the restaurants A LA CARTE....its true we did none because we would of had to be there at 4pm.....also u have to get up at 5am if u want a good spot on the beach or else your stuck in the sun all day... also 90% of the staff is rude, looks like you bother them when u ask for something.. JUST DONT WASTE UR MONEY GOING THERE...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

My boyfriend and I as well as another couple (our friends) stayed at this resort from August 7-11. Let me first say that we were not originally supposed to stay here. We were supposed to stay at Punta Cana Princess until we arrived and found out the POOL WAS CLOSED! We were pleased to be moved to a 5 star resort. We were supposed to stay in a Honeymoon suite ay PCC, so we received Platinum level accomodations at Bavaro. Now let me break down the rest of our experience for you...

Staff- I must say that everyone from the front desk, dining, bar, etc were VERY friendly and always wanted to help in any way that they could. Anything we needed at the Platinum lobby was always taken care of. The bartenders at the Platinum beach bar knew us by name and were super friendly. We loved Raphy at the swim-up pool bar!

Room- The rooms are a decent size, a nice layout, and clean. It was great to have a jacuzzi tub and a king size bed. Each day we always had new towels and the bed was made. There was never an issue with that. All the rooms are the same so we didn't really have any Platinum perks as far as the room goes. We were lucky as Platinun guests though to have a room located very close to the beach and pool, we could walk to both. We would hop on the shuttle to get to the main lobby when we needed to and that was very convienent.

Drinks- We loved all of the different fruity drinks you could get. Our favorites were the Banana Mama, Miami Vice, and Coco Loco. It was also neat that the different bartenders had different signature drinks that they were always willing to make. The one complaint about the drinks that I would have is that they were never really that strong and as Platinum guests there was not "top shelf" liquor.

Food- Well.. We were originally excited that this resort had so many dining options but all of the restaurants were not always open. Only about 2-3 were open a night and the buffet. Our first night we ate at the buffet and the food was decent. We really enjoyed the pasta but everything else was just Ok. The 2nd night we ate at the steakhouse. It's certainly not your American idea of a steakhouse. I had filet mignoin and it was pretty good but my boyfriend was not pleased with his. It was rubbery and over cooked. The 3rd night we ate at the Italian restaurant. It was extremely hot and uncomfortable in there and according to the book in the room, the restaurant is supposed to have air conditioned. We also found the food to be just okay. Our last night there we ate at the buffet which was Mexican themed that night. I thought the chicken tacos were very good... But the next day I was extremely sick and so were several other people we met at the resort who had also ate at the buffet the night before. My boyfriend and I are still suffering (8 days later) from whatever bacteria we picked up.
Also, each morning we ate at the buffet for breakfast. It was OK, nothing really appetizing. We are big coffee drinkers and the coffee was no good at all. Do not eat over easy eggs.

Beach- ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! We live in NJ so we can go to the beach often but the water is brown :/
It was awesome to be on a beach of white sand with blue water. The one downside of the beach was that we were CONSTANTLY HASSLED by vendors of all sorts. Even if you say no they are relentless so it was actually incredibly hard to relax for more than 5 minutes.

Pool- We loved the pool! Like I said Raphy was awesome!! Drinks all day and we never wanted to get out of the water. It felt great. Also, each afternoon there were activities at the pool. We did water aerobics, which was fun. One day we had a kayak contest in the pool and the next day we had a dance and surf competition in the pool. Both tons of fun and a great way to make friends with people!

Conclusion- We would not stay at the resort again. It says its 5 stars but I highly disagree. After so much hassling by people on the beach we actually do not desire to do an all inclusive vacation again (which is kind of sad) We are considering doing a cruise for our next vacation.

I stayed at this hotel with my family over the weekend. The hotel has 888 rooms, and the premises are so large you need to take one of the three circulating trains to move about. The beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, period. We booked 3 rooms, and we where all impressed by the size and comfort of our accommodations. Rooms have high ceilings and a jacuzzi in every room (all suites). The refrigerator has a couple of beers, soda, and bottled water which is included.
However, there are some set backs which keep me from giving this hotel any more stars. First, there is the food. For example, they have a few 'a-la-carte' specialty restaurants (included), like the Argentinian restaurant, which serves only meat. But the menu choices, i.e. cuts like T-Bone, sirloin, 'churrasco' are all the same, with different shape and sauce. The lunch buffet will grow on you just after 2 days. So, basically, if you are not a big culinary fan, you should have a good time at this hotel. The evening show is not really a show, but loud music and a few people with wigs running around the stage. On a side note; there is no free wi-fi, eventhough there are signs all over the hotel showing you where the wi-fi area is.

Room Tip: I would suggest near the beach, that way, you wouldn't have to take the trolly. But, you will ne...
