“Parasailing in Punta Cana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

We stayed at the Bavaro Princess All Suites over the Christmas holidays. We were looking for a family getaway with our teenage sons and it was all we hoped for! One of our highlights was parasailing. We booked this excursion with Carlos Garcia and we enjoyed it thoroughly. He had also booked my husband on a deep sea fishing adventure which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Awesome trip with the band. The resort has a fantastic Animation Team. Great staff and bartenders. Highly recommend the t-bone steak at the steakhouse. More of a review to follow. We just landed in Toronto and are being transported home.

We went just the family, two parents with two kids (17 year old girl and 14 year old boy). I really had a great time, the beach was breath taking with no seaweed and the weather was just perfect! It wasn't boiling hot and there was always a little breeze that made the heat bearable! The food was a lot better than I had expected it to be and the buffet was by the far the best when it came to eating for lunch or dinner. We stayed for 6 nights and 7 days, the beds were comfortable and the room was decent, although we really didn't spend any time in the room. In my opinion the gym was really tiny, I ended up just running outside around the paths instead for how crammed it was. The activities were well prepared and were quite fun! The animation team was absolutely incredible!! They were always energetic and really wonderful people, especially Juan-Carlos! The music they played was upbeat and slightly repetitive but we had such a great time! The hotel's greenery was breath-taking! I loved walking around every morning and taking it all in.

Room Tip: Don't bother with the Platinum if you can live without lying down on a bed by the beach. The roo...

This is our fourth trip to the Bavaro Princess and we're delighted to say that not much has changed. We found the place exactly as we had left it last January. The 94 acre setting retains its unmatched beauty and exotic serenity with exquisitely kept landscaping that adds to its captivating charm. Rather than a "hotel-like" feel, the property consists of multiple units, each with 8 spacious suites, set into a neighborhood-like setting with serpentine paths with ample gardens and green space between. Peafowl, ducks, geese, chickens and ecological trails, rife with birds, plants, turtles, etc., provide tantalizing opportunities for the nature-loving curiosity in each of us. The planners of this facility were light years ahead of the more traditional, high-rise, cramped facility developers. However, the real measure of a property's value is in its staff and their service. The Bavaro Princess excels in this area with genuinely friendly, courteous and helpful personnel. One cannot walk more than 25 steps without receiving a smile and an "hola" from employees from maids to grounds keepers, supervisors and upper management. One of my favorite people is Leonel, the omelette chef at La Hispaniola restaurant. This individual has a playful, impish manner and a smile that will jump start anyone's day, regardless of weather and mood. Additionally, he makes a fantastic omelette to order. Anarcimenes is a waiter that does double duty at the McPrincess, down by the beach. He greets everyone with a smile and ensures that one's glass is never empty. He is also attentive to individual needs, in that he recognized our like of international cheeses at the outdoor cheese buffet. On two separate occasions, when the buffet was not set up, he brought us a separate plate of mixed cheeses. Carlos, our concierge, went out of his way to stop by everyday and chat for 10 - 15 minutes to ask us if there was anything we needed or if there were any problems encountered. His English is outstanding and is thoughtful visits displayed a genuine interest in the individuals under his watch. Maria, our maid, kept our room immaculately clean and provided daily flower and towel sculptures that were a visual delight that added significantly to our vacation experience.
The property, with its 9 restaurants, caters to an international clientele and their food is representative. It is not 5 star but certainly well above average with ample selections to suit every palate. Unfortunately, as every seasoned traveler realizes, there are demanding, never happy, rude, insulting individuals of all nationalities that probably should never leave their native shores. That said, the staff members work hard to meet the needs of the most difficult clients, unfortunately with limited success.
We are already at work, preparing yet another 10 day visit to the Bavaro Princess next January to escape the bony grip of old man winter.

Room Tip: Rooms along the tram path are convenient for individuals who like to ride to their locations.

I travelled with my fiance last April 2012 and we both loved it. We travelled for relaxation and we got it on our 5 day stay which costs the same as a 7 day. Food at the buffet was excellent. I wouldn't recommend the seafood restaurant that you need card to get into. The food was horrible at the seafood place. Our best advice is to go to the main buffets because food changes everyday and its the most comfortable since you can take the portions you need without wasting if you don't like what get like in the restaurants that they allow you to go into, i think it was 4 for us. Staff was always very friendly and pleasant to us. We also asked the outside gardeners sometimes to get up a tree to cut a coconut off!! Rooms were ok, not the best but its spacious enough for us. Tip is to buy stuff from this store they drive you to that looks like a tourist trap but it actually has better prices than the airport. So load up there, it looks sketchy but its a legit and good value shopping experience to get booze, coffee, cigars and vanilla extract and amongst other random souvenirs..

Room Tip: Choose room that's not too far from the buffet and choose room that's not to close to the be...

I just got back from this resort and it was a complete disaster. The food was not very good because it was all over cooked, the room although nice was not really set up for 4 people we had 2 adults and 2 kids (12,17) the beds for my kids were a lumpy pullout couch and the other was a box spring and matters place on the floor in the corner. They had very little activities for kids unless they were under 6. The “FREE WATRE SPORTS” were only free after a $35 training cost and the last strike was they advertised for three days that the buffet for Saturday night was North American night so we planned our meal schedule around that. We ate at the buffet for lunch and the sign was still up but when we got there at 7 to eat they were serving Asian food.. When I complained to the front desk there was no apology or for that matter they did not even care.. DO NOT WASTE YOURE MONEY AT THIS DUMP!!!!
I will never step foot in that country again because of this horrible experience!!!!!

I really loved everything about this hotel and trip. The animation team is really nice! Especially Jourdain, Juan-Carlos, Robert and Alex who were just wonderful. The animations in themselves are hilarious and people can get nicely taned and in a better mood. I recommend to people to be platinum because you can lay in a bed on the beach! The music plays is a little bit repetitive but it is still good music.
