“Local snorkel excursion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

We stayed at the Iberostar and three of us did the local snorkel excursion with Dressel Divers. ($40.00 USD) Our group of 8 people took a small boat left to the sunken ship to take pictures, then drove right down the beach 15 minutes to a reef. The boat ride was very fast and bumpy. Hold on tight! We got off the boat and snorkeled for about an hour then drove back to the Iberostar Bavaro. The snorkeling was fun and we saw lots of fish. If you are an experienced snorkeler, I would suggest a half day excursion.

“Dressel Divers Punta Cana”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012

Myself and a dive buddy used Dressel Divers in Punta Cana (Iberostar Resort). I was impressed by their professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness. They have a weekly list of available dives everyday. Dives happen on schedule with competent dive masters. Typically a DM has no more than 6-8 divers. In my group one day we had two in our group of 8. Each dives begins with a thorough briefing, so you know exactly what to expect before you get on the boat. Dives are typically very close. Great place for novice divers. The DM's are multi-lingual--spanish, english, german, etc. They do a good job of making everyone feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this outfit.

“Great snorkeling adventure - very reasonable - in Dominican”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2012

We took a private taxi to the Iberostar Resort where Dressel Divers is located, about $40USD. It is a beautiful resort. The wife and son frolicked on the beach while we waited for our boat. The gear was clean, but slightly used. We bring our own, so we were very happy. The booking process through their website was fast and easy. We saw a typo on the date and they fixed it immediately. The boat was very clean and the crew was wonderful - very knowledgable and helpful. The first dive was over a wreck in 60 feet - frankly, we would have been happier spending all out time on the 12 foot reef. Unless the tour is full of advanced snorkelers, stick to the shallows. I am a PADI Instructor, so it was fun for me; however, the wife and son didn't have as much to see on the 60 foot site. After a nice ride back to the shop, we relaxed for a bit at the resort and we were on the way back to port. An overall great experience for kids and swimmers of all ages.

“Excellent First Time Diving Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

Did the Discover Scuba Diving program with Dressel Divers out of the Iberostar Bavaro. Upgraded to the full day excursion to Saona Island for our 2 ocean dives. Staff was really fun and friendly, very patient and overall was a great trip. There was a 'local guide' that rode on the bus with us for the trip to the south that pointed out things and gave some perspective on the local's life and activities and it ended up being a very good experience. Nice to get out of the all inclusive compound and see the countryside and local population outside of the white washed walls of a in all inclusive resort.

“Dressel Dive Shop Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus ROCKS!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012

I just came back from a week-long vacation at the Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus with my wife, 15-year old son and daughter (twins), and a family friend who is already a PADI certified open water diver. Except for our friend, none of us had ever scuba dived before and we had no intention of even trying it when we picked our resort. But Dressel's dive shop on the premises offers free intro to scuba sessions in the pool twice a day. We all took the intro class and liked it enough to sign up for classes. My son and I ended up completing the entire PADI open water certification course, while my wife and daughter completed the shorter scuba diver certification. The instructors are EXCELLENT. Our classes were led primarily by Baptiste Boyer and Julien Eynard-- both are five star teachers who could teach anything, not just scuba. French is their first language but they are very comfortable in English, Spanish and Italian as well (and maybe a little Russian too). None of the five open-water dive sites we visited were more than a five-minute boat ride away, which maximized time in the water and minimized seasickness. All in all, our diving experience was excellent because the dive instructors blended infectious enthusiasm for diving with a friendly "can do" attitude, but equally important to me was their professionalism and attention to detail and safety. I am not a very proficient swimmer but I always felt safe, and that allowed me to go beyond what I found comfortable and to build confidence. Thanks to Baptiste and Julien for their patience with us, to Santiago for being flexible with scheduling so we were able to complete the entire course, to Ana and Dina at the front desk for always having the answers to our questions and for always finding the right paperwork when we needed it, and to Andre for the excellent underwater video of us on our first dive-- and for a sense of humor that always made it fun to be at the dive shop!
