“Iberostar Grand Bavaro ...will be back”

What a great resort. Staff is very friendly, rooms are immaculate , view is to die for, and the ocean was perfect for swimming (could do without the seaweed, but you get use to it fast)

All of the staff is so friendly here. Our butler Miguel brought me a birthday cake as soon as he found out it was my birthday. The maid changes your sheets everyday and turns down your bed every night. She lights these ceramic oil burners and when you get back to your room at night it smells so romantic.

The bathroom was gorgeous. You get a jet-tub that is surrounded by glass so that you can have a romantic soak whenever you want.

Room Service was always on time. We liked to have breakfast on the front porch looking at the beautiful grounds of the Iberostar (with the ocean in the background).

I am not a big food person, so I would say that the food was great. Hot, tasted great, and someone else was making and serving it. The Japanese restaurant was my favorite because it involved having fun at the Hibachi grill. All of the servers are so friendly and really want you to have what you want.

Happy-Feet was my favorite Dominican Friend. He really enjoyed talking with you and joking with you. He was a great dancer and made sure that you enjoyed the dancing that was presented one evening.

The spa was great. I had two relaxing massages. One on the beach and one looking at the beach. Both were fabulous and so needed after a three hour flight.

I would come back here anytime. I loved it. My husband and I took the catamaran out for a beautiful sail one day. That was my favorite activity. My Husband looked so happy sailing the Caribbean , made my heart fill with up with such gratitude to have this beautiful memory forever!

My husband and I spent a fantastic week at this Iberostar property. We have stayed at other Iberostar properties before, but this is the best one yet. Everything about this property is beautiful. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool area is large and comfortable with lots of room to find a quiet space for yourself. The beach area was beautiful - at the end of the hotel strip, so it didn't seem as busy as other hotel areas. If you're a lobster fan, they grill fresh lobster at both lunch and dinner! The hotel offers a butler service, which made us laugh at first, but we found the service extremely helpful. We stayed in one night to relax, have room service and watch a DVD. They set everything up for us within a few minutes. When we returned to our room from dinner on the final night, we found the butler had set up a bottle of champagne for us to enjoy on our last evening. It was a very nice touch. We played a round of golf at the golf course one day. I'm not much of a golfer, but I found the course fun, challenging and even relaxing because there weren't people pushing us from the prior hole. If you are interested in partying at the hotel, this probably isn't the best property for you, but the other Iberostar properties next door are quite lively. However, if you want a quiet and relaxing vacation, I would highly recommend this property. We will definitely go back.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms on the outside have private pool areas. The upper floor rooms have balconies.

We LOVED how GRAND and beautiful this resort is. Each bathroom is different and very unique (odd thing to notice... but it stood out)
The rooms were modern and AMAZING!!!! Truly the BEST room we've been in.
the butler was ODD... and something we wouldn't want again. This is different for me, as I would have thought I would love it. He just seemed put out by our requests.
And sometimes didn't even show up when he was scheduled to come and draw a bath for me.
The view was nice but NOT oceanfront. SO far from the ocean. We were back in the main building.
The spa was in construction so a disappointment.
BEST gym we've ever been to at a resort as it had a better ocean view than our room.
The bartenders at the pool were amazing. Remembered your favorites and were so nice.
We didn't like that there was really only one pool area... some different pools.. but really only one area.
The restaurants were good but you had to get a reservation. Didn't like this aspect of it.
The beaches were amazing... we walked miles and miles everyday.
Again, GORGEOUS resort... but we'll be going to Excellence resorts next time.
THey're just one step up for us... in view from the room, no reservations for restaurants, and various pool options.. service was a close match, but Excellence wins.

I was very impressed with the level of service we received on a recent trip to this property. I felt that every employee I encountered went out of their way to make sure I enjoyed my time and always asked if I needed anything. The grounds are beautiful and clean, they even sweep the seaweed off the shoreline each morning to keep the white sand and turquoise water experience perfect.

The food quality could be improved. It is pretty good, but not as excellent as the other parts of the experience. There are several options for dining, the Japanese Steakhouse was the best because the food is cooked in front of you therefor fresh. Although the comedian/chef was a little intrusive. The other restaurants lacked overall quality (beef was Sizzler level, or worse) and they all definitely used their microwaves (yuck). The buffets had a lot to choose from and were a decent alternative. Our 'butler' was able to get us reservations at the times we wanted which was great during a sold out week.

On our 5th time to Punta Cana we spent 15 nights at Iberostar Grand Bavaro. We have seen most of the properties on this fantastic beach and in our opinion this is the best one. It has one of the best beach locations on the the Punta Cana strip. Their beach layout is definitely the best with large palapas .... most with a lot of privacy. Most of the other properties here do not have palapas and crowd their beach chairs. Freddy and all the front reception staff were terrific as was our favorite butler Henry.

On the negative side...we have been to the the Iberostar Grand properties in Jamaica and the Mayan Riviera...this one is not as good...which disappointed us (as it is located in a much more beautiful area). The food and quality of service did not compare. Also the rooms are smaller with a chaise for one person instead of a love seat for two people...they have a large table in the room which really crowds the room. They are very cheap with their mini bar...as every time we ordered some items for our mini bar they brought half of what we ordered. The service was hit and miss with good intentions, however we didn't feel it was necessary to be greeted every time with a handshake especially before our meals.

Overall...this is a great property with some room for improvement.

This was our second trip to this resort. We came back because of the property, service, location, and value. It's truly a great budget almost five star place. If the food was better quality, then I would give the full 5 stars. Food selection is amazing but its all pretty bland and the meat choices were very, very inexpensive and not good.

Everything was great! From the arrival at the airport, shuttle to the hotel (booked via Funjet) to the resort itself! The food was great, the room was perfect and the beach was fantastic! We did eat at all of the theme restaurants - Japanese and the Italian were the best followed by the Le Tourbillion. You can skip the Surf and Turf as it was very very hot and had the worst service. The buffets are great, lobster and steak available at every meal! One thing about the food was the was an annoyance but easily forgotten was the ice cream...all of the flavors tasted the same in buffet...the green, blue and pink all tasted of bubble gum/pepto bismal. The vanilla served in the themed restaurants was great not sure why that couldn't make the buffet!

room service was great, we had breakfast every morning and it was delivered right when we wanted it. tip for the AC - there is a sensor in the sliding door that when it is open even a crack the ac will not work at all! door must be closed for AC. wireless was good but did cut in and out. tv was not needed, didnt even use it, honeymoon afterall!

All of the staff we meet were great, genuinely loved their jobs! Our housekeeper Fior did great things we towel art and flowers each day and always had a great smile! Bartender in the pool Julio was also great!

All items in the room were stocked each day including the mini bar. I asked for just rum and none of the other liquors and that is what I got! I even took them to the beach to enhance my drinks!

Beach chairs were reservered early each day with towels - I went down a few mornings at 7 to get a cabana and a front row beach chair and some days we just took what we found, always always chairs open!
