I stayed at Ambar the last week of February 2013. The trip was just what I needed! The resort was very clean and welcoming. It was overbooked but this was not evident for the most part. I would return here in a heartbeat if I could be assured that the service we received in the room is not repeated. We didn't spend a lot of time in our room so would not weigh this heavily in the overall rating because it did seem to be because of our particular maid. We had many things go wrong with the room: the ceiling fan didn't work, the TV remote did not work, the floor was dirty, a bloody tissue was found inside a brochure, we asked to be moved to be closer to the rest of our group (we were part of a group of 11 and the only room not with the rest), we kept being told we could move the next day when our stay was only four days. We didn't get wash clothes for two days, when our linens were replaced at turndown service, we still didn't get washcloths. Our mini bar was not restocked until we complained towards the end of our stay, not even the water! We did receive some compensation from the resort, such as a $100 in money to spend at the resort at the end of the stay after we already had souvenirs, etc. so it was kind of a wash. If we had a different maid, I think it would be a five star stay!
